This scene sums up Paulie perfectly. Pushes around those who are beneath him, and then in the blink of an eye starts sucking up to him because he doesn't want Tony to find out lol. He was a great character.
Bill Shatner He's also a great representation of what it takes to survive in that world. No wife and kids, no baggage, just a true survivor and one of the few that actually makes it to the end. Paulie is one of my favourite characters, although yes he was basically a complete psychopath and a scumbag. But he is also a very lonely character, the scene where he is all alone laughing really hard at the TV, the scene where he's worried Tony will kill him on the boat. His is a very lonely existence, all he has is this life and the small amount of status that it gives him. I loved Paulie's arc in the show.
***** True Dat! It kind of reminds me of a Story in Archie where Reggie Bullies a Frosh (aka Freshman) yet when the Young Man says "Hey Cousin Moose, how's it going?" Reggie gets terrified and is nice to the Frosh. He doesn't realize that Moose and The Boy aren't even related.
Fuck that he'd travel to New Zealand, buy a cup of cafe du jour, New Zealand peaberry just to spit it in ur face and say the Italians used to run this coffee racket, they were eating off the pishadoo before we gave them the gift of our cuisine.
Some of the stuff he comes out with is comedy gold. This bit kills me, it's how nice he is after realising who finn is. "There he is" like they've been pals for years
This scene reveals a lot about Paulie... throws his weight around with Finn until he realises he's conncted to someone higher up the food chain, then starts grovelling to him.
Wouldnt u do that if what u just said or did would of gotten back to your boss. Imagine a new guy starts at work. Now u tell him to clean the bathrooms after callin him "shaggy" next u find out its the owners Son-in-law. Eorkin for the Mob or McDonalds your savin your ass!!
Paulie makes the most hysterical faces on the show!! Like when he catches poison ivy in the woods when he & Chrissy whack Mikey & when they whack that other guy and they get lost in the woods. Paulie has to be my favorite! XD
Just go back and watch the episode when he & Chrissy get lost in the snowy forest and are in the car together..They're both freezing to death and Paulie's hair is all fucked up. The faces he makes are pricless in that episode.
This is one of my favorite comedic scenes in the whole show. Paulie's reaction to finding out Finn is dating Meadow is so good. And the "There he is!" always gets me. And him telling Finn he shoulda told him. Paulie can't take any responsibility. Hilarious
Whoever thought of this scene is a genius. Couldn't write a better scene for paulie's character. The look on his face when he realizes he's been insulting meadows boyfriend is perfect. That scene, Paulie trying to kill the cat when tony walks in, The ghostbusters pyschic, all of pine barrens, killing the waiter angry at chris for no tip, any scene with Chris and pailie fighting, Paulie visiting tony after he gets shot causing tony's heart monitor to go off from being too negative after he was just warned by meadow not to that, Paulie being too cheap to pay the church and ride operators at the street festival and paulie's road trip with Tony running towards those unknown gansters were all just brilliant. Those writers knew exactly how to write for Paulie's character. Brilliant job of writing for the characters they had
"On May 10, 1972, Sirico publicly declared his homosexuality and became a gay rights activist.[58] He subsequently joined and served as a minister in the Metropolitan Community Church. Sirico initially promoted left-wing politics, but after a time began to realize he did not agree with the principles of socialism and the erosion of the institution of marriage."
Paulie at his best. One of my favorite scenes in the sopranos. This scene makes Jackie junior look like a genius for always name dropping his father's name.
Not so genius, more like taking advantages of his dead fathers name. Tonys dad was in the business too but all we heard is Tony and JAckie together made their names themselves, not dropping their fathers name all the fricking time like a tool
@@thinhphan1717 Yes but the fact that Tony’s father and Jackie’s brother were higher ups in the mob is what helped them get away with robbing the card game so really they too took advantage of being related to someone with influence

One day one of the delegates walks in and personally asks for me to see how things were going. I walked over to him and said everything was ok. I swear, when I got back to the line I was working on, I thought the guy that was fucking with me was going to have a stroke. true story.
Paulie genuinely loved his Mother / Aunt. The secret totally rocked him, but he came around - realising all the things she had done for him as a loving mother would, during his troubled youth.
Tells him to scrub the dog shit out of his tires even though its not his job. Tells him he'll be picking up his own teeth if he doesn't. Tells him to go immediately before it sets in the treads. 20 seconds later.... "There he is!"
The brilliance in Pauli’s character was that he easily portrayed a 2-timing shiester who bullied those beneath him and sucked off those above him (only when he felt they’d hold power, hence his dismissal of Carmela when Tony was seriously injured). Other characters, preferably Tony, which much more difficult to see the monsters that they truly were.
In this scene paulie gives a textbook example on how to use your hands in a conversation. Which can be studied in a course at the Newark College of Arts and Performances.
