RIDING OUT A HURRICANE ON OUR NORDHAVN TRAWLER? LOL

- Join us this week on @ABOARDMERMAIDMONSTER as we ride out the non eventful Hurricane Lee. You just never know with these storms. Sometimes they are awful and sometimes they are non events. We always prefer the non eventful ones but you just never know. We always prep for the worst thought just in case that’s what happens. Overall we are very happy we ended up heading to Boston and not turning around and heading back down the Long Island sound, which would have cut our season very short. We had such a great time with my parents visiting. It was also Rooneys 11th birthday so we had big plans for her. Enjoy the typical family banter. I feel like this episode really shows the kiddos cute personalities. They are all growing up so much. If you are new here then welcome. If you are a regular then thank you for your continual viewership and support. We love saying hi to all of you in the comments below. Please tune in every Sunday at 9am ET. Cheers Brooke

Never know what Mother Nature is going to do 😊
lol. 10:45 I was waiting for the re-dip and they did not disappoint. 😂😂
Lol
I don't think Penn appreciates the fine art of sarcasm quite yet. Give him time.
Happy Birthday from New Zealand Rooney

Happy holidays!!! xx
Well glad you prepared, hurricanes are funny like that. Sometimes they like to make anxiety spike and then just change directions or just fizzle out. Been there with many over the years, never did care for them. Ya got lucky. We all can celebrate yesterday was the official end of the season. Now we wait for the Nor'easter's to kick in. Luv ya guys.
Would love to see a flashback video!
Such a great episode, happy birthday Rooney! It was fun to see you back in Boston. I'm glad you had one day of nice weather while there. You were missed last week!
Brook your a split image of your mother.. Both two beautiful ladies ... Great Vid thanks for sharing.
I thought that was her sister
😂🤣👍👍great hurricane coverage! 👍👍
I am glad to see that to take your family’s safety and comfort as a first priority. But of course it’s nice to know you have a massive safety margin that will far exceed your comfort level in your choice of ship. Nordhavn’s have gone around the world many times and around all the capes in weather I wouldn’t wish on my worst enemy and the ships soldier on. Stay safe and have fun. ❤
Happy Birthday 🎂 Rooney...
Loved Penn's response to dad about the storm. Was a definite " Really? Give me a break dad"
Happy birthday Rooney!🎉🎉🎂🎂
Happy birthday Rooney! 🎉
Glad you got lucky with hurricane. Boston harbor is always rough even with just a little wind. You guys were really lucky!
Looks like Penn is ready to pilot Mermaid Monster now! He was doing great driving the DUK!
Great episode MM crew! Stay safe and keep rolling! 👍👍
Good to hear you made it through the non-eventful storm. The Atlantic saw an unusual amount of named storms this season, some came close some stayed out to sea. Only two came ashore in Nova Scotia.
I think the flash back video would be great. Might be difficult for the editor as the super mom is deciding and remembering. But that’s life life for today and enjoy yesterday’s.
Very true
Penn has perfected the eye roll… 😂
Happy birthday 🎈🎊🎁🎂🎉
Boston is a great city to explore. Hope you had a good Italian meal. I always did when I ate there!!
Happy birthday Rooney, love the shoes.
Thanks guys
Happy Birthday Reaney, I know I spelt it wrong, but best wishes anyway...😁😁
You could report for the weather channel!!!!!
😂
Lekker man lekker 🇿🇦
Hi guys. New to your channel as of a couple weeks ago. Really enjoy your content and how well you put these videos together. I know the hard work it takes.
Here to get some insight of the reality to take this lifestyle on myself. ❤❤
There is a beautiful brand new Nordhavn in my neighborhood Luna and I’d love to figure out how to get a tour of it 😊
I would be interested to know all the places you have gone in six years of boating
The name DUKW comes from General Motors Corporation model nomenclature:[6]
D, 1942 production series
U, Utility
K, all wheel drive
W, tandem rear axles, both driven
Would you be willing to give out the pie recipes?
👍
Check out the safety history of DUK boats.
That's not even windy I'm from Florida and been through numerous hurricanes and even the eye of hurricane Wilma in Delray Beach that was real windy when the roof of the condo next door is blown in the lake out back.
It’s a joke
The old rule is when a hurricane is coming head out to sea as fast as you can.
Braden, not cool to make fun of Mother Nature. Will probably come back to haunt you.
🙄
You guys must not have been through a real hurricane. The boat with the torn flag, that flag was torn long before those winds. American flag looked to be intact. If the current winds caused the damage to that yellow flag, larger American flag would be shredded. It wasn't. As for the yellow Nordavn at the dock, I would not call that "violently moving" against a floating dock. While it is always a good practice to take all weather serioously and prepare for the worst while hoping for the best, I don't believe you were in any imminent danger from "hurricane Lee". Considering how cautious and nervous you guys were, I hope you never have to go through a real hurricane...Posted by a Floridian.
I am really sorry that you missed the sarcasm here.
I bet your fun at parties
This was pure sarcasm by Braden hahah. Obviously it wasn’t a strong storm
Hahahaha
That wasn't even windy. I'm from Florida to and windy was hurricane Wilma blowing roofs off of houses and condos in Delray when the eye passed over us.
