Hi I do realize this video was about a month ago but do you think you could link the cage/playpen that you got? I’ve been looking for a good one but none of them are tall enough etc. it would be really helpful! :)
I know this is a month ago now - but you did a great job and it's really great to see younger people really stepping up and doing their research when it comes to bunnies! The fact that your bun just jumped on your lap day 3 is insane and is a great indicator that he's going to be such a cuddly rabbit. A lot of us have to build that level of trust over an entire month or even more, so clearly he is very happy in his space and comfortable with you.
Lol right?! My bun is four and I’ve done it all and he’s a look don’t touch bun and that’s okay with me 👌💕 I love him anyways. Our animals are not made to serve us or our needs. It’s our job to accommodate them 🐰
Regarding the lap thing, it honestly really depends, because it's not always dependent on the owner, if you get your rabbit from a petstore or a breeder, than they're definitely most likely going to behave that way because they're handled when they're young, however, if you adopt a bunny, they will probably not feel comfortable the first few days or weeks and that doesn't mean the owner isn't being amazing, loving, or doing a terrible job, it's just the way they're brought up. Personally I feel like those who shop for bunnies have an easier experience because they were taught to be agreeable, but when you adopt a bunny they come from all sorts of backgrounds. I'm just throwing this out for the newcomers here, just in case they put themselves down because their bunny isn't necessarily affectionate with them or comfortable with their touch when they first get them. It's natural anyways, but yeah :)
@@SuperBaconFishing every bunny is different but the vast majority of bun don’t like to be held. I held mine a lot when he was really young but as grew he tolerated it less and less. They’re still really fun animals who are so cute! I’ve learned to appreciate him for who he is an I enjoy him more then ever even though he’s not a people bun 🐰❤️☺️
Just to make your day my mum done so Much research when she got me iam over a year free roamed I have access to the o rooms and a hallway and I get lots of chews and mental stimulation/enrichment through snuffle mats and digging boxes and lots of other exercises that let out my natural instinctsI always enjoy shoving my face into my littler box that’s always filled to the brim with small pet select hay
Brownie is so cute!! I am so glad you did your research! Your set up looks really cute :) it’s normal for bunnies to poop everywhere when they’re in a new territory they never went to before so don’t worry he won’t do it forever! Also if you plan on enclosing the bunny in its pen sometimes you need to build the sides higher! Brownie can definitely jump over that, but keep doing your research you’re doing amazing!
Once you get brownie fixed the territory marking will stop also alot of digging and destroying furniture will go away. Plus a ton health benefits to getting him fixed. Havw fun with your cutie
I used to have this bunny that I thought was a dog stuck in a bunny's body. I'd get home from school and he would run up to me and jump on me like a dog would. He always laid next to me and was constantly next to me. It was so fun going and getting his meals, toys, and all the stuff he needed.
So cute! You should call it a pen so that nobody gets the wrong idea and puts a bunny in a small cage, it’s not very good to have them freeroam as soon as you get them but your bond at three days is amazing! I cannot believe that Brownie came up to you! I wish you, and Brownie, one of the best bonds imaginable in the near, and distant future!
Makes me so happy to see that you did your research on proper bunny care!! The fact that he was so comfortable with you holding him shows how safe and loved he already feels.
make sure you really bunny proof everything! I got a rabbit and thought I was prepared enough to free roam but I quickly learnt I wasn’t! cover all your cords, your baseboards, make sure he can’t jump onto anything you don’t want him getting into, ect.
as a bunny owner, it is good to see that a new bunny owner has done their research and gotten a pen instead of a cage. I have 3 at home and they are free roam of a room for most of the day and when we arent home or at night they are in a pen. One tip is to save money and use a box with a hole cut in it instead of an expensive hidey house that your bunny might chew through in a matter of weeks
Your bunny looks so happy!!😀😀 I can't wait for more updates. You are doing amazing. Most likely, when your buny gets spayed/neutered, litter training will go so much smoother. So happy for both of you.💛💛💛
Did the bunny tell you this? Please stop treating your bunny as a baby. It’s not a baby it’s an animal, a pet! I live in a small apartment with a small play pen for my dwarf bunny and she’s as happy as can be. She stays in her pen and I let her free roam a few hours a day then back in the play pen she goes. Animals can survive without all this extra stuff too so stop babying them!
@@sanaahanaa5475 um I was being extremely friendly and was just recommending some fun things to add to the cage and bunny’s are social animals. They need a friend unless they are aggressive or not spayed. I don’t see your point?
@@sanaahanaa5475 Of course they can survive with smaller space too. But can't tell others not to baby them. If someone wants to and have the means to spoil their bun, then why not? Pets are like babies to some of us and they're equally as loved.

For a hay and litter box I'd recommend getting an under bed storage box and doing a thin layer of bedding then twice a day add a pile of hay to one end for him to rummage through. Hay racks are usless tbh as rabbits like to rummage through their hay to find the best bits to eat.

Congratulations on your bunny. It looks like you have a lot of litter in the litter box which I don’t think you need that much I use a pellet litter. A good brand for rabbit treats and toys is Oxbow. Honestly at the beginning when she said cage I was like oh no but now I’m like that’s amazing like somebody actually doing the research about an animal that deserves a great home your amazing
Hi love, you’re doing such a great job and giving your bunny a loving home! Seems like you’ve done plenty of research and we’re prepared :)! You may want to make those grates 2 tears high though because as your bunny gets older it will for sure be able to jump over that. ❤️
you've done really well! you can tell you have done your research which is great xxx i would remove the hay rack, as the metal isn't good for the bunny's teeth, and just fill your litter box with hay, because they poo and wee were they eat, and tend to eat more hay that way xx i also recommend replacing the blanket with carpet, or a rug. you can get carpet from a tiles and flooring place (they often have cut outs/left over carpet) as the friction is good for the buns nails and they often can't binky and run around on blanket as it slides x
Thank you so much for actually doing your research I have a bunny and it pains me to see people not doing their research and saying proper care is too expensive.
This is so cool! You have no idea how badly I'm waiting to be able to do this one day!🥺 Great set up and your bunny is adorable! You guys look great together 🥰
Yesss!! I love how you actually researched buns! So my tip for potty training, i wouldn’t let him free roam right away. Keep him confined temporarily until he learns his litter box. Then gradually open up the space once his Hobbits are in control. Also don’t forget to get that boy neutered! Makes the potty training much easier. You also don’t really need a hay rack. Some rabbit peps feel it makes it harder for them to get hay and it’s not natural for them to eat from above (usually buns eat grass from ground). You can just put it in his litter box. It’s something to think about it. The topic is often debated. I personally don’t use hay racks. Great example of a proper bun set up!!! You had me scared when you said cage 😅😆👍💕 best luck to you and bunny brownie!! 🐰
I know I’m four months late but as a four year rabbit owner you are doing great! Brownie seems like such a social bunny, my bunny was super scared when I first got her lol
I love Brownie! There are some recommendations toward this though. I do have 2 bunnies and I have been raising bunnies and guinea pigs for about 9 years now. Your bunnies will need pellets every morning and veggies at night. And also I would recommend a tunnel or tunnels :)
@@Hddjridhanaksldndh a healthy diet for rabbits is a fresh food based diet that contains the nutrients they need. Pellets should only be used as a supplement if you can't feed your rabbit a varied diet. They're not healthy unfortunately and can cause dental issues as well as GI stasis and numerous other issues.
Just a few tips, definitely would recommend to buy an enclosed cat box so he feels safe in there. Also if you want to use your hay rack thats fine but also put some in the box because you will be filling that soo much they eat tons of it
Hey just a tip from someone that has 2 bunnies, bunnies prefer their litter box to be in a corner because it’s more private for them, so I would switch where their house is to where the litter box is and Vice versa. I would recommend getting a gallon water bowls if you know what I’m talking about it saves you a lot more time rather than filling up water every single day. Try to rotate their toys because they get bored easily. Once the bunnies old enough consider space/neuter because it’s better for them in the long run and there’s a lot of benefits for that. Also baby rabbits can pick up litter training easily but once their hormones kick in and puberty gets them the litter training thing will probably stop that happened to me and I was really upset but it stopped once I got my boy neutered. You are doing great though I love the set up
hes so young! My rabbit was 3 months old when I bought her. Make sure u give him an amazing home and never give up on him! Your rabbit needs you for a forever home, its very heartbreaking when something bad happens to them, or they get sick... My bunny has a dry ear now and my mother and I are doing everything we can to help her. BEST OF LUCK FOR YOUR BUNNY! 😄
So happy for you! Watching this with my bun Luke and your set up is so amazing. The research you’ve done is so awesome. Don’t worry about the pooping problem it’s normal in a very new house and goes away with age. My bun is not neutered, is almost five, and has never had an accident outside of his litter box! Sometimes there are a few scattered poops but sometimes it’s not even something they can control lmao. Best of luck
Omg im so glad she did research because when I got my bunny, Blueberry my parents didn’t let me have a pen or free roam so they made me keep the poor thing in a tiny cage and I could only take her out occasionally, but when I moved out i got her everything she needed and she’s happier and healthy!
If you leave those wires there, you need wire guards. It's a corrugated sleeve that goes on your wires. They will not chew it. You can get it in the electrical area of your hardware store. Menards, Home Depot, even automotive stores.
Hii Hanna, Brownie is absolutely lovely 🥰 I got some tips that I learnt from owning a bunny too: - I see you have some cables hanging from your desk, I advise you to get those as tucked away as possible and perhaps find something to bunny proof them with, as I lost a lot of chargers and electronics due to my bunny chewing them and he could potentially hurt himself. It only takes about a second for them to bite the wires and destroy them forever. 😄 - For the litter training, if he isn’t neutered yet, definitely get that sorted as it will help you A LOT with potty training. And would recommend not letting him on your bed unsupervised as they tend to enjoy peeing there. - Make sure the hay feeder is not too high up, being low is better than too high. - You can craft some toys for him, they love to chew on empty toilet rolls and it’s not bad for them, as long as they don’t eat it in excess. All bunnies are different but I hope that helps. “Lennon the bunny” RUclips Channel is great for tips and tricks! Enjoy! 🐰💕
Hi!! Make sure to feed him Alfalfa hay until he’s about 6 months old! Babies need alfalfa hay instead of Timothy hay to make sure they get all their nutrients!🥰
@@Zoeclarke01 True, my bunny ignored timothy for days when I introduced her to it. I was afraid she couldn't move on from alfalfa, but I kept mixing both hays, gradually increase the amount of timothy and decrease the amount of alfalfa.
you did such a good job!!! thank you for actually doing your research 😍the only thing i would suggest is to switch to a paper-based or pelleted-based litter!! the pine shaving can cause respiratory infections 🥰
i would recommend putting a pile of hay in the litter box, hay is most of a bunnies diet and they need it so feeders like that can make getting hay challenging.
Very late comment but make sure the bedding in your litter box is never pine or cedar. They can cause upper respiratory infections. And I’d recommend more toys and putting hay in the litter box as well as the hay rack so it’s easy access for brownie.
I use litterbox liners they're like garbage you put in the box and it really makes cleanup easy and keeps the box clean and you don't have to scrub it at all
I'm loving the fact that you did your research. I'm getting 2 bunnies quite soon and I want to be prepared to let them have the best life possible. Also you're so pretty and I love your voice 🥰

I love Brownie! There are some recommendations toward this though. I do have 2 bunnies and I have been raising bunnies and guinea pigs for about 9 years now. Your bunnies will need pellets every morning and veggies at night. And also I would recommend a tunnel or tunnels :)
rabbits don't need pellets, they can do more harm than good! :))
That’s not true????
@@Hddjridhanaksldndh what's not true?
@@mw-cy1zf that they don’t need pellets. Their food comes in pellet form.
Awwwww, browny is soooooo cute! I really love the setup by the way😁💞
hiya! proud mother of one male bunny, you are going fabulous job- well done!
Oh my gosh! I love your room! So pretty! I love that he’s free roam! Lol Brownie is so adorable💗😌
He's a really handsome little bun.
it's amazing how well you researched!❤I would recommend adding another gird on top as bunnies can jump very high!
You are doing great though I love the set up
Hi tysm for talking care of your bunny! L just got mine yesterday and l got everything set up!
hes so young! 😄
Mine was 8 weeks when I got her :)
Girl! You gotta post more! I really enjoyed this vid!
I love your channel. Your gonna need some more videos obviously I have watched all yours. And basically there awesome.
For the safety of brownie and your cords don't forget to buy cord protection. Have fun with ur bun x3 he's adorable
If you leave those wires there, you need wire guards. It's a corrugated sleeve that goes on your wires. They will not chew it. You can get it in the electrical area of your hardware store. Menards, Home Depot, even automotive stores.
Hii Hanna, Brownie is absolutely lovely 🥰 I got some tips that I learnt from owning a bunny too:
- I see you have some cables hanging from your desk, I advise you to get those as tucked away as possible and perhaps find something to bunny proof them with, as I lost a lot of chargers and electronics due to my bunny chewing them and he could potentially hurt himself. It only takes about a second for them to bite the wires and destroy them forever. 😄
- For the litter training, if he isn’t neutered yet, definitely get that sorted as it will help you A LOT with potty training.
Enjoy! 🐰💕
Tysm for being a pen not a cage u are a perfect bunny owner!
Aww brownie is so cute I have a bunny of my own and she likes to cuddle
Hi!! Make sure to feed him Alfalfa hay until he’s about 6 months old! Babies need alfalfa hay instead of Timothy hay to make sure they get all their nutrients!🥰
Or a mixed of both is good so when it comes time to wean him he'll be fine to do so. :)
@@Zoeclarke01 True, my bunny ignored timothy for days when I introduced her to it. I was afraid she couldn't move on from alfalfa, but I kept mixing both hays, gradually increase the amount of timothy and decrease the amount of alfalfa.
He’s adorable I’m going to get a bunny in maybe a year this video has helped me I’m definitely saving this Thankyou!
you did such a good job!!! thank you for actually doing your research 😍the only thing i would suggest is to switch to a paper-based or pelleted-based litter!! the pine shaving can cause respiratory infections 🥰
i’m so glad you did your research, your a great bunny mom ❤️
I definitely recommend the channel (sincerely, Cinnabon) she has SO many tils
Yesss I love u finally someone who actually cares about their bunny😊
this makes me SO HAPPY thanks for taking care of your bun!!!!!!!!!!
i would recommend putting a pile of hay in the litter box, hay is most of a bunnies diet and they need it so feeders like that can make getting hay challenging.
Very late comment but make sure the bedding in your litter box is never pine or cedar. They can cause upper respiratory infections. And I’d recommend more toys and putting hay in the litter box as well as the hay rack so it’s easy access for brownie.
Also cat tunnels are great toys, baby stacking cups, baby keys & oxbow toys!! A plain cardboard box with 2 entry/exit holes are also a big hit!!
So refreshing to see a youtuber do their research before getting a pet and advertising good pet care!! Keep it up
I love bunnies 🐰 and brownie is so precious ❤ also very glad you did your research
no because I've had muslie (my bunny) for 3 years and he has never gone on my lap so jealous. Set up looks great
Definitely someone who researched I have two bunnies and I just want to give you one tip I would put up the cords because they love chewing on cords
He’s so adorable!
he is going to go through that hay bag so fast lol i really recommend Small Pet Select for hay!
also, do you have a link to the wooden snackball?
I have a bunny and i think that is a really good set up, I like how its open too.
I’m working up to get a bunny and I’m getting all of the good stuff that does not hurt bunnys❤
Aww so cute! However, from experience , when you free roam him, if possible get hard protective wire covers 💖💖
I really hope you create more episodes! I only see one here.. i think you’ll be be a great RUclipsr! Good luck!
I would put more hay in the litter box but other than that great job and thanks for being responsible and doing your research!
One thing I recommend is to make sure no cables are in reach!!! There's a few by the desk but other than that good job!!!!
Hi can I have the link to this cage? 😊
Hi I loved your vid can you do an update bunny videos 😊🐰I love the name brownie
he's so cute, well done on doing your research as well :)
A hay rack can be good if the holes are big enough and fit the correct serving of hay and make sure you put hay in the litter box too
More hay*
I love watching these vids bro even at 3am its just so interesting and pleasing bruh
Beautiful! Just pleeeease take care of those cords and make sure he can't reach them.
I loved this video so much you did so well and your bunny is so cute ❤
Such cute little bunny
I happy for you and your new bun. Potty training will get better in time, one helpful tip I found since I’m also looking into getting and free roaming a bunny. If he’s not fixed getting them fixed once their old enough will help litter habits as well. 😁 you can watch Lennon the bunny or even Sincerely cinnabun on here for useful tips and info too
I prefer 101 rabbits over those two :)) her information and tips are (in my opinion) more rabbit appropriate.
@@mw-cy1zf they are both trying good too I prefer Lennon and Cinnabon over 101 rwbbits
@@bye427 that's interesting, can I know why you prefer them?
I personally disagree with single rabbits, the enrichment Lorelei provides and taking rabbits to hoppy hour and out on leashes.
@@mw-cy1zf she has a lot of good ideas and tips and tells you how to hold free roam and potty training she tells you how to bond with your rabbits too. You can have your opinion about needing" two but it's not true for everypne
@@bye427 Of course you can have an opinion on scientific facts but that doesn't mean you're correct.
Rabbits needing companions is a proven fact.
But yes, Lorelei has some good tips :)
Im so happy that you did your research and not dump him in a fish bowl sized cage! Thank you so much!
So cute! I have 4 rabbits and neutering will help with the potty training! I adopted and rescues many bunnies in my life time
Great video! He is super cute! Bunnies make the best pets, also consider getting him a friend once he is neutered as bunnies are social creatures. Heads up, remove the wires and cables he will bite them and can be quite dangerous ❤️
Would love to see how he gets along xx
agreed!
I love ur channel I have one bunny and cannot get another I don't think most people can but my bunny is. Fine..
Girlie really did her research! The bunny is gonna love it
Im like 5 months late but binging bunny videos because im getting one in for days lmfaooo, but girl you are gorgeous and entertaining you earned a new follower from this ahaha
I had one before. I always do research. And, your video made me not doubt any longer. Going to get my baby today or tomorrow. Depending on how long my set up takes
yeah i recently got a bunny and she free rages the entire house, with a home base area. She's a giant rabbit and is gonna get to 70cm, brownie is soooo cute
Everything is so cute! Where fid you get the pen/cage sorta thing?
