Could have sworn there was more rust dust in the jar
yes, you are right, i removed some rust to be easier for spinning (it took me 2 days that part)😵💫, don't worry i put all the rust back😂
Ha! I thought the same thing! And wow I knew it would of taken a lot of tried to get it just right, but jeez! Two days!
@@TysyTube Ahhhh, but the spin was perfect in the end. Looking forward to the rust knife.
@@TysyTube 🤣
@@TysyTubegood to hear the rust is safe
For those wondering, the company has nothing to do with the German automobile manufacturer. It stands for Björneborgs Mekaniska Werkstad. A Finnish company that made different foundry based products at the end of the 19th century, into the 20th.
Although after some reading, the auto maker did actually make cooking pots (among other things) for a brief period in the post-WW2 era before they were able to resume production of motorcycles and cars due to sanctions.
Interesting...I actually thought it was the same BMW car maker lol
Now I'm a bit confused
Это было даже ежу понятно
Here in Bergen we had BMV - Bergens Mekaniske Verksted. Since it's pronounced the same as BMW in Norwegian, it could sometimes get confusing.
I rate this restoration as “Well done”! It’s “rare” to find videos on cooking utensils. The oil was a great “medium” for seasoning the pan! Thank you!
Thank you very much!
I spent the first half of my career in the restaurant industry and have cooked thousands of steaks. If you like your steaks cooked to “medium”, you did an excellent job. And extra credit for turning the steak just once! Oh… and the pan restoration was fantastic, too! Cheers from Ohio! 👍👍👍
thank you🔥❤️ yes i like medium 🥩🔥
@@TysyTubeYou're wrong. The best steak is medium rare, with "YOU WERE MY BROTHER, ANAKIN!" as a close second.
Maybe lacked some seasoning ^^
@@randomname24680 Agreed. Some salt and freshly cracked black pepper was in order! 😉👍
@@Primus54 Or sauteed in butter like thatdudecancook.*
*for the record, I do not enjoy pan-fried steaks.
My favourite part of your videos is the sand blasting it amazes me how much rust it gets off, I wish there was a place you could go to just to sandblast stuff.
I'm so anxious to see the knife come to life!!
Bro, do more restorations. We wanna see the blade already 😂
Definitely one of your more lighthearted restoration videos. Quite enjoyable and the steak looks fantastic.
BMW = Björneborgs Mekaniska Werkstad Cookware made in Finland from 1890 to 1920, Bavarian Motor Works was founded in 1916.
@@BruceBoschek wow it's this true? I can't find anything on Google
It‘s the same company, you‘re wrong. Do your own research
@@razvanRR5877 no it's not.
Björneborgs Mekaniska Werkstad AB (Porin Konepaja OY) is definitely not "the same company". The foundry where the skillet was made is still in operation as part of Componenta Oyj.
@@razvanRR5877 The car maker is named Bayerische Motoren Werke.
@@FOG2006 Ich weiß, ich bin Deutscher
I assumed that the pan bieng a BMW it would cook the steak alot faster 🤣🤣
it makes the steak a lot less fatty as it uses the melted fat to replace all the oil it leaks
I appreciate that you left the imperfections and enhanced the lettering. I love the vintage look of cast iron.
Thanks so much!
“BMW oil for BMW skillet”
Did bro put motor oil on a frying pan?
no BMW cast iron oil. (it's just a mineral oil good for seasoning a pan)
yes
@@puglife658 I wondered the same thing?
@@sirBrouwer ok that makes me feel better about it. I didn’t think he would put motor oil on it but I didn’t know any other bmw oil.
@@puglife658 that's what is called "a joke"... 🙄
my forbidden seasoning is salt thank you for the video I can't wait to watch you make the knife I give your steak 10 out of 10
thank youuu🙏
Forbidden seasoning?
Eagerly waiting for Rusty Knife when the bottle will fill 😂 when we all going to see the beautiful rusty knife ❤ luv frm INDIA 🇮🇳
The ultimate frying machine!
HE'S BACK!!!!
yes 🙌
@@TysyTube So happy to see you again!
I love your vids btw ❤ and your vods always help me to fall asleep so ty
I'm so glad!
Today, I learned something new. BMW made frying pans. Amazing!
So good!
@@marcomcdowell8861 First time dor me as well....BMW made feying pans! WOW!
now to take it to the BMW dealer and complain that the engine does not start.
@@sirBrouwer😂😂😂
Great job restoring the old skillet, the steak looked absolutely fantastic, just the way I like it!
thank you❤️
I love cooking in cast iron skillets and know a little about their history. That line on the back of the skillet is called a gate mark, which is a leftover of the casting process. That process was generally abandoned around 1890, so you know this skillet was made no later than that.
i use cast iron to cook burgers when i cant bbq and theyre delicious.
0:18 Yummy Forbidden seasoning
It's not delicious

Restoration: 10/10 Steak 08/10 no seasonings like salt, pepper or garlic powder, or, butter baste with rosemary at the very least!
We had to dine with restored cutlery?
3:39 Chin reveal 😱
For the first time ever my dog reacted to food on TV, she's watching it while licking her chops and drooling so that would give your a steak up thumbs up
Now this is the best looking steak I've seen this side of a Vegas breakfast special.
Wait what the best resto channel on RUclips lives again ! LFG ,
thank you🔥❤️
Bro did not use 10W-30 to season a pan
The steak was cooked perfect! The pan restoration was good too.
Haven't watched you in months man im glad to be watching you again 🔥🔥
Wow this is so cool you can just make rusty old stuff brand new
at least i try 😂
Ty for the heart
Also I have a few cat vids
Not sure why but my favorite part was the slow motion zoom on the camp stove ignition sequence
The steak looks good, a bit too done for me but looks tasty. Missed your restorations.
Hope you enjoy
Nice job as always. Next video: How to sharpen an Ikea Knife 😂
😂
Excellent work. Nice to see the sandblaster again. So satisfy to watch.
6:40 Nice timing. My heater kicked on when you did this 😂
Nice video. These videos help me when I can't sleep at night. So, thank you for posting them!
It's not the same BMW that made the cars, they're German, The frying pan was made by a Finish company.
yes
Did you get a bigger rust jar? I feel like it used to be smaller, but more full
I think he just loves to collect rust, so he's getting a bigger jar to never fill it, so collecting goes on forever 🙃
the beginning is so satisfying🤤
I liked that this time you sometimes put descriptions of why you were doing what you were doing, I’d love to see that more in future videos! Keep up the awesome work, I love these videos
Ok thanks!
the steak looked perfect. now im hungry.
Hoping to be able to see the knife thats made by the collected rust soon enough, as always a nice video
😂 I'm Pretty much sure you have done almost more than 5 Time to get this 1:23
it took me 2 days 😂
@@TysyTube but it is a worthy Moment to watch the perfect Label at Front. 👍
dude wake up, tysytube uploaded!
🔥
I lost my mind with the yolk? at the end, thanks for the awesome steak
😂👍
So fun to watch your videos. I always watch as soon as you post them. Thank you!
Glad you like them!
I have to say, I don't know what I like the best; the project, your camera work, or your sense of humor. Excellent!!!
(The steak was just a bit pink for me) 😉👍
It was over cooked
Glad you enjoyed it!
for one is overcooked and for others is undercooked 😂😂😂😂 is so hard to make everyone happy 😆
@@TysyTube Don't ya just love the internet.
@@TysyTubeYou aren't Nutella! 👍
I'm going to be dead by the time he gets that rust jar filled up!!!
😂
I really enjoyed those little funny details, like robot, little rubber hand, smile on a pan while sanding!
Glad you enjoyed it☺️😅
now im hungry, great video 👍
Hope you enjoy 😂🥩
I know some companies make more than one type of product, which can be amazing in its own right, but I never imagined BMW making skillets.
It is indeed the first time I am seeing a BMW skillet. But I am already subscribed. Paradox detected.
thank you🔥❤️
I love it when you use the -painting- sandblasting hood! 🤣
Me too!😂
How does the sand blaster work?
I'm also glad to see that the room looks just as good as it always does before the watermelon explosion😂❤
😂
That steak looks fantastic! Nice work💪
Looks great, youre videos are always very entertaining and always make me laugh. Cant wait for the rust knife!
i liked this video for the dragon ball z shirt!!!
Love your restorations but the shirt at the end was the best part
Also the Australian Meltique steak was my favorite
yum yum 🔥🥩
Legend says in 3024 we'll see the "knife made with rust" video
Nice job! Cast iron skillets are unbelievably durable.
Also, yummy steak! 🥩 🤤
Excellent job, love the video extra editing and the robot helpers.
Thank you very much!
Tysy! Always Salt, Pepper and Garlic Powder on steak before cooking!
2:54 the moment we all realized tysytube has lost his mind
Beautiful restoration of pan! And perfect cooking of the steak! Pink and juicy, just the way it should be! 🤗🇦🇺
очень люблю чугунные сковородки и кастрюли зачет )
Give respect for the guy who takes days to make these vids
thank you❤️✌️
bro 10/10 steak. btw can you make me a steak pls it looked so juicy. one more thing I like your crocs
The steak was perfectly cooked
First time being early😄 (btw nice vid, haven't finished yet but I know it will be/was a delicious steak!)
Hope you enjoy!
@@TysyTube I did! That steak looks delicious! Hope you enjoyed it!
Who else winced slightly at the chef's knife on the ceramic plate?
The first RUclips video that made me hungry! Nice work. A little Colmans Mustard or Horseradish with the steak perhaps……if you’re brave enough…?
My man out here, raw doggin that steak with no visible seasonings
😏🔥🔥🥩
Pori's Mekaniska Verkstad (Finnish: Porin Konepaja ) was a Finnish workshop company in Pori . It was founded in 1858 by Carl Anton Björnberg (1821-1866), a merchant from Björneborg, and Karl Johan Lönegren (1823-1895), a lawyer who acquired Fredriksfor's mill in Leineberg in the same year. It was one of the city's first real industries with a foundry and mechanical workshop. Over the years, the company grew into one of Finland's most important companies in the field, manufacturing products from frying pans to ships.
Dope AF results, @TysyTube! The steak looked 🔥!
☺️✌️🥩😳🙌❤️
As for the steak. I would rate a 5/10. No garlic, seasoning, or butter. I will give you this. It was cooked extremely well
The line
I NEED MORE RUST
You did well seasoning the pan, but you should also season anything else going into the pan too. You need some salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
he is still alive... where have you been?
edit: why did you not removed the cast mark from the bottom. And frying a steak in a BMW pan oke, but cutting it with an IKEA knive? Millions of swedish meatballs cry in anger.......
behind your screen 😂
Dude your suppose to season it while you cook it. Your killing me smalls🤣🤣🤣
@charlesroybal4573 Yeah, a little seasalt, pepper, and butter would have been good.👍🏾
@@Maebull70 like he did in the last cooking video. Also a steak bade in butter with a bit of thyme pepper and salt.
@@charlesroybal4573 For the initial season on a virgin pan, you need to use oil very intentionally. After that, you're right. Just cooking is enough.
Not only are your restoration skills second to none, but I would add master chef to skill set as well, as that steak looked perfect(at least by my standards).
I prefer very well done steak 🥩
The skillet 🍳 turned out pantastic ✌🏼
😂
LOL darn it now I want a steak. Great video as usual.
You and me both!
I would eat the steak, 100 percent.
Good looking pan, should last you a lifetime!
You got that right!
10/10 would eat again
If the pan is turned upside down during baking, excess oil can drain off and does not cause stains from oil puddles
Restoration looks great! Steak also looks juicy, but there was no seasoning!!
Nice job! (The restore on the skillet was good stuff, too.)
Glad you enjoyed it
The pan was seasoned more than the steak😂😂😂
The steak looked great. Just dont be afraid of a little salt and pepper next time. 👍
I was 10 years old when you start collecting dust to make a knife, i am 34 now and still waiting. I hope my son can see the video in the future
😂😂😂😂
He definitely was cooking❤❤❤
Haha, the ''Egg''tion at the end was funny.
The Master congratulations
thank you Luiza😘❤️
Gotta love when our bro tysytube gets silly with it... although i have to razz you a little bit for spending all day seasoning your cast iron pan but not seasoning the steak you cook in it!!
My bad
Loved the restoration project and the steak looked delicious! Bonus points in my book being a fashion girly the Michael Jordan hoodie the butterfly T-shirt and the dragon shirt were awesome😊
Love that!
Omg that steak looked amazing, I'm drooling 🤤
So good!
Seriously, are you the Sultan's chef?
4:00 parkside tools my favorite 💯
i work with them every day from battery operated screwdriver to hammer drills
Seasoned the pan but not the steak 🥲
😂🙈
Thank you for wonderful video! I've enjoyed both restoration and cooking parts, that steak looks yummy-yummy!
Glad you enjoyed it😂🙈
Im I'm satisfied with the clean energy i have
Did you start a new jar of rust?
Steak appeared medium rare, so 10/10 if that was the goal.
Pan restoration was nicely done and gets a 👍. 🙂
