Hey Kyle. The green mat is fine. We don't all have the luxury of time to spend on our layouts. Most of us just want to run trains and enjoy what we have. I actually do have the time, but I still prefer to just run trains, lol.
You’re definitely right, time is a definitely a resource we all wish we had more of, but only so much of it around yellow star! It looks a lot better then I was anticipating it to be, so I’m happy, just a few more areas and should be good for my brother and nephew. Thanks for watching!
Hi Kyle. Brilliant looking locos, love the American locomotives. Hey all takes time Kyle, especially if you have to work and not old retired foggies like us 😅 Green colour is a good base colour. Have a fabulous new year buddy 🍾🍾 .... Pete....
Thanks Pete, I figured it’ll look good until I can find more verity of ground coverage and can put it on. Time is definitely one thing holding me back from doing more, money is the main reason. Figured it will be a great sub until I can get better material. Thanks for watching!
Thanks Thomas, we both know a layout is never truly “finished”, but it’ll look good once I start finding more scenery material’s, but first Walthers code 83 track. Plan to use that and go from there. Thanks for watching!
I didn’t even know you had one on your layout, is something wrong with it? I’d figured it’s better then nothing for the time being. Thanks for watching!
@kylestevens6925 oh yeah, that is a grass mat on my layout. Unfortunately it's becoming so discolored and torn up it's going to have to be replaced eventually. The thing is probably over 30 years old (the table was purchased from my brother's old shop teacher back in 1999 and it was on it then), so it's definitely had a good run!
Never worry about nor judge how something looks until you're done, and those who do are fools! You are off to a great start and miles ahead of where you were before you took your first step. Truth is, even if you decide you do not like that grass, you can put static grass over it or add addition stuff! Play on!
Thanks Anthony and you’re right, I still plan to put actual scenery materials over it, but this definitely helps give the layout a little more character. I got some ideas to help with scenery, mostly with tree’s. I’d figured just do what I can with what I can get and if it’s not to my tea, then it shouldn’t be a big mess later. Thanks for watching!
