Gene Vincent and his Blue cap's first class legendary Rock n Rollers 🎶📻🎼🚀 not appreciated but they are ONE of the Best ever that set music 🎼🎶🎶🎼🎶🎶 on fire 🔥 R.I.P Gene respect to you and the Blue cap's gone never forgotten 🙏 still your music is getting played somewhere in the world 🌍👏 from a Teddy Boy 🎶🎼📻🎶🚀📻💥
poor gene, the most underrated singer of the rock n roll era. his band were shit hot too, cliff Gallup and Johnny Meeks had some of the best guitar licks in the history of rock. I hope they are in heaven making music for almighty God .
a lot of people compare him to other singers of this song and say it isnt very good, if you knew genes story this would make you cry, he was the nicest guy and the usa abandoned him and england adored him, just listen and enjoy
Jim Church
Jerry lewis
you are perfectly right he lived in agony all his singing life nobody could ever do this again.
Jim Church Best version of the song right here ☝️. That voice
Personally this is my favourite version ..... sweet gene Vincent 👏
Best version ever !! How can someone don´t like Gene ???? Gene was the true king of Rock´n´Roll and always will be !!! DJ Wildgoner
one of the best Rockabilly preformers ever.
Gene does a lovely job on this song.
The late great Gene Vincent. To me Gene was at the cutting edge of early rock and roll. His vocal range and style were phenomenal. His voice was the driving force behind tracks such as Who Slapped John and Say Mama. He could also get real emotional feelings into tracks like Somewhere Over The Rainbow and The Waltz Of The Wind . And let's not forget the rock guitar of Cliff Gallup behind him. Truly inspiring.
"Sweet Gene" Takes my breath away *** He was so very precious then and will always be "THE ONE !!!
gene stayed at my dads when he visited england, had a good drink and a sing with my pops on the geetar! legend!
the best live performance of anyone. Rare, real, true.
Left us more than fifty years ago. But he will never be forgotten, an incredible talent.
Classic rock ballad!Sweet Gene always with the best bandmates.who knows maybe They were good jouvenille deliquent representatives into the eyes of Many mothers back Then.their moves, nonchalant look, gumchewin', messy hair.I Love it!Cool twin guitars choeropraphy!
he can rock with the best and sing a ballad like no one else...
Por
I was there as a teenager in the 1950's, my dad owned a "record shop" where the latest releases were bought, people could listen to them in glass booths. I always got them first! I remember when Elvis' first single was released. I was 14 in 1955 so the next decade was pretty fabulous. But I liked the music of the early 50's too. And all of the 1940's. I teethed on the Big Band Era music.
Gene Vincent, that voice is amazing!! Best singer ever!!
Yep and look at those guitars wow wish i had one lol
Love the vintage video-He was very under rated as with Eddie Cochran-Paul was here-05-10-16.

First time hearing this version. I heard the original first many years ago and have loved every cover I've ever heard. It really is just a beautiful song meant to be sung and heard.

Lee-Lou is the best Gene Vincent fan of all time, thanks for the memories
I really like this tones of songs... Take me to the fifties, and let me stay there forever and ever!!!!!!!!
Just a wonderful singer. Saw him just once and that changed my world!
I saw Gene Vincent at the London Palladium in Nov 1969, he was backed by the Wild Angels. About ten years ago the original Blue Caps reformed and appeared at the London Rockers Reunion Concert. Gene died in October 1971.
Makes me cry..Still missing you,J.H.
Im 43 now. I come back and revisit this so many times. When I was young, I thought this was the most beautiful love song ever performed by the Great Jerry Butler. Then, I found this version by Mr. Gene Vincent. I was blown away by this innocent version in one of his last performances. I couldn’t believe this existed til I found it. I played it over and over and posted it all over and all my friends agreed. This has to be one of the most rarest and rawest versions of a love song that sets me down on my knees in tears of uncontrollable emotion every time I hear it. It is a passion love marvel. It is timeless and an amazing raw performance. This is music from the heart. There is nothing better than the true love of this song.
Without a doubt gene had the best voice of any singer in his day..the widest range from hold me hug rock me to all his ballads
I've always considered he had THE definitive fifties voice, more than Elvis, more than anyone, and you hear it best on his slow songs.@@lesccmh2238
Gene died in his mothers arms,, I was told that his last words were, Mom I don't feel good and then he died sad
he was just a boy when he died , ok a few years older than eddie - buddy - big bopper and richie valens but still a boy at 36
Merci mille fois
A favourite singer and a favourite song

The Jerry Butler version is of course the most well known version. But, Gene's slant is so beautiful. What a magnificent talent. What a loss. What a legasy.

A True Legend/Icon, R.I.P. Gene.
SUPREME!
I've almost forgotten who Gene Vincent was (besides "Susie Q"). And here he is wrong. "For Your Precious Love" is a Jazz-Blues song (very nearly a love "dirge", but not depressing at all; quite the opposite...it is romantic, and uplifting! (Understand, I've been listening constantly to all these classic R&B, Jazz, "Original" Rock-'n'-Roll, R&B\Soul all my life; some, not so well-known by the general white public, and definitely not by Gen-Xers, and absolutely not the 'no-mind' Millennials, I have to employ my mnemonic "Back-Up-Train", and appreciate each, great composition!!!
great vincent!
Sweet Gene, I love you so much
Best ever!!!
In July 1955 he was involved in a severe motorcycle accident that shattered his left leg which left him with a permanent limp and chronic pain for the rest of his life. He was severely injured in the car crash which claimed the life of his buddy Eddie Cochran. He died October 12. 1971.
Just beautiful
Lol...yeah, I went back and watched again after this comment. Lol..he's really working this thing out...even if you can't hear him playin', his smolder is on eleven.

he had a motorcycle accident while he was in the navy
Pity gene didn't make a studio recording of this song
check out arron neville or brook benton doing this song you will be surprised
why was he going to the hospital?
Who is the bass player, that snuggles to Gene?
Ok, found out that the bass player is Max K. Lipscomb aka Scotty McKay.
good belly rubbing music
i like this version;
but otis is still the winners( :
is it any wonder that this is who michael jackson was trying so hard to look like
It's as if he doesn't know how the song goes......I am a lifelong Gene fan but he makes a bit of a mess of it here. His timings are all over the place. A pity....with his voice hecould have nailed this song.
MAN! Gene butchered this song. Jerry Butler owns it.
