Thanks for the edge glue skill reveal Ian. I find I've only gone to using water based simply to avoid the smell of binding agents. My customers really prefer the smell of leather instead of chemicals. Cheers!

I have been looking EXACTLY for a way on how to glue leather strips together, and separate strips if you need to, as well!
    Wah-Lah!
    Here it is!
I love the way you explain how and why you perform every step as you are demonstrating the process.
You are very detailed oriented, and explain your steps in a way that is easy to understand.
    Thank You! Thank You!
    Thank You!

Likewise. Everything I have learned about leathercraft is from watching Ian's videos. Well, one or two from Nigel Armitage!!

Your timing is immaculate Ian - just about to have a go at a project and was trying to find a decent glue to use. Thanks to you I now have no excuse for messing it up 🤣 Went for some Fiebings Leather Cement from Identity Leather.

Thanks Lan! Very useful tip! Had the exact "Awl pressure separating the layers" before, nice to see how important is to take time and do it properly.
Q: can alcohol used for roughing and removing the finish on a chrome tanned leather?

I don't often work with chrome tan but I would think abrading as shown here it is a better idea than trying to chemically remove the surface. Often with chrome tan the edges are painted anyway which gives an extra layer of protection against any separation.
