It may not be Scott acting for Steve, but he would want this series to continue. So many of us grew up with this series, and it would be a waste to see it never finished. Overall, this video is astonishing with everything from the sfx, comedic bits, and continuation of the story. Let’s hope Element Animation has an Egg’s Guide on their agenda sooner or later, and best of luck for the new VA! May you carry the torch for Scott and help complete this amazing series :)

Ironically enough… We very well might be waiting at least another year for part 19 (as of April 29th 2023) To make that 4 year mark. However I do hope they haven’t given up on this series. Would be great to see a comeback, especially in the new rendering style/animation improvements they’ve all made in the last year or two. Love Element Animation, I still remember when I was 12 hanging out with my best friend at the time, He showed me the first episode of this series. Was a staple in my childhood. I’m 23 now and I’ve moved out with my fiancé bought an SUV together. Adopted 2 cats, I still come back to this channel to watch videos occasionally and just to make sure this eggs guid series wasn’t a fever dream.

alon maybe you could try to be a bit more sarcastic about it? You could at least add ‘lol’ to the end. You honestly sound serious. I’m usually not serious about these kinds of comments, but I feel like I have to be on this specific video because of the *real* reason it took 4 years. If you sort by newest comments there are a lot of people not knowing why it took so long, and I want everyone to know that EA has a very good reason for not uploading to the series for 4 years.

I can't imagine how hard it must be for Element Animation to consider making a new episode for the series given how much has changed at their studio since 2020.
As in 2021 they moved their workflow from Cinema 4D to Maya and also adopted Mojang's art style for the cinematic minecraft trailers. They've always wanted to move to a different art style than their one back then as they would be able to render videos faster and get them out, which they tried with the Villager News Christmas 2020 video, having a different easier art style to render but it was too jarring for people due to how pixelated it was, so they scrapped it and went with something more familiar for their next villager news videos.
But that art style was also still vastly different than the one used before as it had a more vibrant and plasticky look than looking like normal minecraft with high quality lighting. They likely adopted it for more general consistency across the Mojang brand and their videos and that it was easier to do and render still.
And you see where I'm going with this?
It put's An Egg's Guide to Minecraft in a strange place because now they have to answer the question of what art style do they use to present the series now? Because if they choose their new art style, Episode 19 will look very jarring next to all the other ones in an already inconsistent looking series due to tech advances in Cinema 4D over time. But even then, the series still had a recognizable look back then through all the resolution and lighting advancements, this would be a real big change.
But if they wanted to remain faithful for the original series' look, it would requiring going back and likely porting over all their assets and rigs from Cinema 4D to work with Maya and they would be harder and more expensive to work with which would make Episode 19 a risk to work on for the studio, since they heavily raised the bar with episode 18 and it's hard to compete with that, unless they use a similar budget and if the video underperforms it could cause serious damage they can't recover from easily.
I'm mostly just saying all this to provide some food for thought for the people who want this series to come back and kind of giving them a reason why it's likely taking so long. Long story short, it's very hard for Element Animation to produce a series like this now and they might even not be able to make it at all since Episode 18 actually lost them a lot of money.
Edit: went on Element’s discord server to find an answer and Dan made a statement somewhere that essentially echos these same thoughts. But he also said that Episode 18 cost 60 thousand dollars to make (yikes) and that if they did make another episode, it abruptly be the series finale. Goes to show how much they screwed up by going big on production value for episode 18.
Part 18 was a huge financial loss for them anyway.
The reason why part 18 was expensive was the people, the people who worked on it, from free lancers to co-workers, etc. Also, the rendering system too if they wanted to make it more pretty and beautiful.
And they can't make Egg's Guide videos anymore because of the reason I mentioned earlier and it’s very unlikely that part 19 would produced.
@@Abbimation. yeah sounds like they were simply just too ambitious with everything and caused the quality and budget to raise to such a point where it would be very hard to turn back a profit.
And now with the bar raised so high, they would never be able to make another episode that compares to it again. Especially if they go more lower budget.
A bit of an unfortunate move on their part as they could have put in the same effort as Episode 17 and others beforehand, and likely turned a slight profit or just not lost as much, so they would have motivation to keep the series going.
And just a month ago, another 4 years have passed, hope Part 19 doesn’t take another 4 years (it will)

I remember when episode 9 came out. I was 12 years old, grounded from electronics but I managed to sneak watch it. I’m 21 now and still love this series. I still think of Scott though, and miss him every day, and the short amount of time I got to spend talking with him.
