This movie is awesome, it is the perfect way to enter Balzac’s effervescent world. The adaption is… well an adaption, that’s why it is flawed, but still, Giannoli managed to do a good job, and the movie in itself is a work of art.

I watched this film today. Lucien implies light. Light is beauty. His light unfortunately is dimmed by the shine of gold. Giannoli does a great job in this film in capturing the reality of early 19th century Paris just as Balzac would have wanted. Giannoli manages to show both the beauty and the savagery of French society, a society that doesn't change no matter how many centuries pass.

Je viens de voir le film hier et c'est vraiment un chef-d'œuvre !
Parmi tous les films que j'ai pu voir, seulement un pincette se retrouvent dans mes chefs-d'œuvre. C'est sincèrement le meilleur film français que j'ai vu ! Enfin un film français sans défaut qui ne fait pas "budget serré".
J'attendais avec impatience cette vidéo, je ne suis pas déçue, tu as rendu un sublime hommage à la beauté du film 🤍

un film magnifique qui montre la beauté du cinema, de la littérature ainsi que de l'art français, pour ceux qui l'ont déja vu once upon a time in hollywood est une lettre d'amour à Hollywood, et ce film est une lettre d'amour à la France.
Certes le cinema français n'est pas le meilleur au monde actuellement mais tu sens que ce pays a une grande relation avec le 7eme art.

Si seulement la création cinématographique pouvait s'intéresser davantage à notre patrimoine national littéraire et artistique en général comme source d'inspiration, plutôt que de produire des comédies bobos progressistes qui nous sortent par tous les pores. Il y a des dizaines pour ne pas dire des centaines de sujets disponibles étant donné la richesse de notre histoire et de notre patrimoine.
Et en plus, quand c'est bien fait, ça marche et ça rapporte de l'argent ! Témoin «Les trois mousquetaires» sortis dernièrement. «Illusions perdues» est aussi une très belle réussite. Dans le même ordre d'idée, j'attends également la sortie du «Comte de Monte-Cristo» fin juin.
