There are so many things I could say about this woman that just simply wouldn't do her justice. The emotion she evokes when she performs and the deep connection to every word runs through the core of my being. I was blessed enough to see her live once at the Troubadour in LA a few years back and despite being such a physically tiny person she becomes a giant on that stage. She opened for Justin Townes Earle (RIP) that night and it was like a dream to see my two favorite artists in the same night. I miss Justin's words deeply but hopefully decades more of hearing Lydia's beautiful voice will somehow fill that gap.
