Well said. The HP numbers game is cool and all but for a roadster/naked, I'm more interested in how it handles a nice curvy road with some low down torque.
It absolutely makes a lot of sense but it seems the market pressure finally got you, so you eventually released the M1000R with maximum power @ almost 14k rpm and lesser mid range torque 😄
Hello Road Glide thank you for reaching out to us. We kindly ask you to contact your local dealer by following this link: www.bmw-motorrad.com/dealer As soon as there is any update concerning the subject he will be happy to help you. Best regards, Ludwig of the BMW Motorrad Team
BMW Motorrad Thank you. Appreciate the response. I live 5 miles from my dealer. I am in there regularly. I have a close relationship with them. They are not “crystal clear” on why there is a Stop Sale on new BMW motorcycles, particularly all R1250 and K1600 series models. They say brake supplier issues, they also say it could be a Regulatory issue. Which can mean many things. Nonetheless, it does not speak to the models sitting on show room floors with Sold signage on them that the Dealer cannot deliver or customers cannot pick up because of the Stop Sale. My dealer is not absolutely clear in their conveyance of information. What is clear is that BMW’s CEO needs to transmit a clear statement of facts to clear up any confusion. Without good communication from BMW it’s only a matter of time when real or perceived problems escalate affecting long term sales. Lastly, historically, BMW produces great looking products and a ride quality unique to BMW, why we all love them. Truly differentiating themselves from competition. However and lastly, getting good information in times of trouble over the long term has been slow, ambiguous to no information. Respectfully. Just my .2.
Hey Road Glide, thank you again for reaching us and for your honest feedback. The opinion of our community is very important to us. We fowarded your case internally. Our colleagues in charge will contact you soon. All the best, your BMW Motorrad Team.
Just been in the garage cleaning my Gen 2 while watching these new model videos. As much as I like the new rear end and adore the clarity and ease of use of the TFT, I will not be parting with my current Gen2 and then spending best part of £19K for little improvement with an ugly face..
I am the same - took my ‘17 for a blast on some nearby country roads for a few hours yesterday and was thinking about what will relive it (now has 43000km) and decided I will wait to see how the ‘21 looks “in person”, as photos can be deceptive. I do get why BMW has not given the RR models 200+ hp, and the point is well made about the V4S not providing all its output in lower gears so what is the point ? That said, having ridden a Pv4S with full arrow exhaust and new mapping, there is a counter view. The reduction in mass will be interesting to feel, and it is not worthy that the new Monster and 890r have done the same. Good times
This is very good thinking. Well done BMW
Thank you! 👍
This was well explained. Good job

I agree with the lighter & agile bike over hp, if I need more power then I pull my RR out lol
