- The progress for this Loop Switcher project has been slow this time around due to other commitments and a few hurdles I have to overcome. But none the less I have finished wiring the signal path with the relays and also wired the front panel with LED's and switches ready to go with a shield I made up with strip board.
Still have the Arduino Mega to mount and finish the connections to it. Also there is the programming of course.
This should be a great programmable loop switcher when it is finished, my only concern is the possibility of processor noise being induced into the signal path.
The next video should be hardware completed and programming.
Hi Paul. What a great project! Thanks for sharing the whole journey! I started a mock-up with relays and jacks, but it's really noisy. I don't have it in an enclosure yet. Is this why is noisy? Did you have any trouble with noise?
try mounting the Mega with double-sided foam tape or even velcro if you concerned with tolerances. unless that wouldn't be as rigid for your purposes. I personally would prefer hard mounting, so I would use stand-offs. I can't remember if any of the mounting holes are grounded, but if they are, you can use metal ones. to help incorporate the case as shielding. to ease the tolerance issue, make the holes in the case slightly bigger than needed, and use thin wide washers that fit the posts to secure to the chassis.
