- HIGHLIGHTS | AUSTRALIA v WALES | July Internationals 2024 | Second Test
Australia proved too strong for Wales on Saturday night, holding on to claim a gutsy win in slippery conditions in Melbourne, as heavy rain plagued much of the encounter at AAMI Park.

At first Wallaby try was a real humdinger
❤it was BEAUTIFUL
No matter how bad you have it being a rugby fan just remember that being a Welsh rugby fan is 10x worse.
Make that a 100x
Did you really expect to get any results against a team coached by the best coach in the world….
Hey Cheer up all in the mind.Remember you be touring next year in red British Irish Lions to Aussie again 2025.From a All Black Fan.👍👍
@@Jrt91 xDDDDDD what are you on mate???
Try being a PNG fan. You have no idea💀
To be a Welsh fan is to suffer…but as the Good Book says…suffering breeds endurance and endurance breeds hope…
Daugunu literally pulled a Kolbe. These sweepers have to start looking out for these follow-up, kick chasing wingers. I think every team should have a player if not winger who chases every kick. Like a Kolbe, Daugunu or Sevu Reece.
Well actually..not only scoring tries those are part of the job description as a winger..
And Telea😂
@@RoyJones. It's his haircut that's causing distraction 🤟
Dangunu must have watched The Cheslin Kolbe try last week 😂
As an All Black supporter that first try was a thing of beauty I hope our trans Tasman brothers bring it in the upcoming tests against the mighty abz
I still think the AB’s are on another level and have made our Wallabies look like schoolboys on at least one occasion every year for the past 20. I hear you though and I’m always hoping against hope!🫣
@007SpencerForHire I lived in Australia for 17 years and I don't care what anyone says abz and wallabies rivalry is the best rivalry in the world of rugby yes it has been a bit one sided recently but when the wallabies show up they can devastate anyone abz included
@@rikkikelly2325 Absolutely! It’s just been such a long time since the Wallabies “showed up”. 😕
You need to come to Wales for a Wales England match@@rikkikelly2325
@007SpencerForHire yeah I know what you mean I used to fly down from Brisbane to Sydney to watch the bledisloe did it for 5 years first year abz won by 1 and then every year after the gap just seemed to widen
Just goes to show if the teams in trouble getting a new coach with an incredible record is better than desperately getting an old coach from your glory days back. The games moved on from Warrens game of smash it up the center and picking an going. The teams reduced to playing for penalties and mauling from them.
You mean a NZ coach?
Ireland, Australia...
We haven’t got the players to choose from now. Our boys look like kids.
@@pdjhh I guess it depends on how much you blame Gatland for not developing players in his first stint as coach
Wales should be proud of their performance, apart from a couple of silly mistakes they could have won. A definate improvement over last week.
That's not good enough at test level. The point of playing at this level is not to make costly mistakes.
They'll come good in a couple of years - it's been pretty much back to a standing start this year.
Got to say I agree with you and with basically a scratch side! Everyone lambasting Wales needs to see the bigger picture, come next 6n I think it will be almost a different side and they will regain a bit of pride
We used to watch Wales lose in the 90s they would lose and play shit as well.
This team will come good
@@gow03333 thing is in the 90's we had a massive defection of our best players to league so our union side were poor
From a south African rugby supporter, just happy to see the Wallabies are back again.
against wales bud?
wales and australia are equally playing bad
0:28 The balls on the guy to put in attacking kick 5 meters from his own goal line, which he then retrieves. He achieves rugby immortality just for that.
yh, love it when smn plays with their heart on the sleeve
Daugunu proved himself everything he wore any jersey from Australia A to Wallabies ❤ vinaka Tovatas Filipo Daugunu
From a Springbok supporter, Wallabies playing scintillating running rugby against a strong Welsh side. This was no pushover, Wallabies proving once again that you don't need the strongest scrum to win. This was such a pleasure to watch. Great stuff Boyos!
A strong Welsh side…really 😂😂😂
A strong Welsh side HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHABAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHABAHAHAHAHAHAHA😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
@@martinpercy12 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 absolute joke
this is the weakest welsh side since they had a team. Thats coming from a welshman. We are a shambles
After the Ireland game this evening I honestly think we're going to shit come Rugby Championship. We play them the same weekend Dricus fights Adesanya
Best game by the Australian Wallabies I have seen in some time. Keep playing like that and we might just see a resurgence of the Wallabies
I wouldn’t call this an Australian side. Half the team is either born overseas or eligible for foreign national teams.
Australia doesn’t have international representation on the rugby pitch!
You were watching the Green and Gold Barbarian team.
@@chrishodgson2247 Is Australia the only country to do so?
@@chrishodgson2247 no where near half, champion.
@@chrishodgson2247 most these boys have all grown up in Australia since a young age, they're more Australian than anything else at that point, your comment reminds me of some racist old friends I have upset because of to many hard names to pronounce, old people can say the darndest things sometimes
if it was koroibete there at that corner that welsh winger woulda been knocked tf out (4.59)
Cuz Koroibete can’t tackle bro lmao
@@RugbyLover86watch his rugby league games .think you should run straight at him.

i think the most important thing in rugby now would be for the aussies to find form ahead of the lions tour next year, and obviously hosting the next world cup. game needs a strong wallabies
looks like they are building nicely
And I believe the game needs a strong wales
Huge structural problems in Australia need to be addressed for them to return to their former glory - the number of empty seats in that stadium last night kinda tell how far the game has fallen
@@DeftPolthe game is all but dead in Australia
If you want people to care about foreign players in green and gold jerseys, good luck to ya!
Australia doesn’t have international representation on the rugby pitch anymore.
Just another barbarian team with nostalgic colours.
As a wallabies fan, a win is a win but we got 3 tries based off of welsh mistakes but gave up a ton of tries. Tighten up boys!
2 tries massively against the run of play - but still, they were spectacular, and frankly a lot more enjoyable to watch than the maul tries Wales relied on
Aussie were the better team with better players, but they kept making silly mistakes that kept letting Wales back into the game. It was the same last week. But I’m happy to see them winning and playing an exciting brand of rugby.
Being a kiwi and All Blacks fan, it's soooo good to see our cousin's being successful again. Up The Southern Hemisphere 🤙
I’m a ABs supporter but I’ll always root for the wallabies. Rugby is fun when the wallabies are thriving and doing well except when they’re playing the ABs of course. Let’s hope for some good actions from Rugby championship and Bledisloe Cup
Same mistake as James Lowe last week, trying to keep the ball in play and immediately getting punished for it by a Try.
Naaah.....the mistake was made by the Touch Judge and the TMO. Liam Williams jumped from outside the field of play to "bat" the ball back into the field of play....illegal....against the rules/laws. Should of been a line-out to Wales.....shockingly incompetent ruling to allow the try to Daungunu, and televised around the WORLD...disgraceful ineptitude by supposedly professional officiating team.
James Lowe wasn’t his mistake tbf
@@24hr_rugby_jake Oh, yes it was, same as this one. Only tap it back if there's obvious support. Don't just try and be smart if there's no good outcome likely.
@@gus8024 no it wasn’t mate 🤦♂️ someone else should be getting into position to receive it. Lowe’s effort could have great helped his team. Same for the Welsh one, supporting player should have been more on his toes
australia looks good. Young team but lots of potential.
Well played Australia, WRU fan
Gotta be honest I'm welsh for a young inexperienced squad that wasn't bad, driving lineout at the moment against certain teams pretty unstoppable if I'm honest, and if wales hadn't slipped up with those silly tap downs and a mistake by callum winett that would be a win for wales
That's an unfair thing to say. Inexperienced or experienced, the Welsh brought a team and lost. Period.
wonderful what can be achieved with a real rugby coach
Awesome to see Aussie rugby back up there where they belong, can't wait to see them against the boks
This Welsh side finished last in 6 nations lol😂
Really good game. Well done to Wales to, like Australia, Wales will also rise again.
Schmidt it in !
As a neutral this game has some spectacular tries, especially the first Aussie try and the Rio Dire's try.
Are you kidding me with that first try? Flashbacks if 2011 -2015 Wallabies right there.
Welcome back to top class world rugby Australia, South Africa has missed you
Crowds come with winning rugby.
2-0 is a good start though
Well done Auzz and Joe 👍👍👍
filipe was next level genius. it was outrageous
Daugunu amazing performance
Not a fan, personally, but I think rugby union benefits more when Wallabies are in the mix and playing good footy.
Absurd try from that Welsh lad on the fringes but that was a very good contest overall.
You mean absurdly poor defense, surely?. Not a good try when its literally never a try against any other team.
@@FloatLikeABee that's not the kids fault he stayed on his feet
that was a very exciting game, Australia got a couple of breaks which made the difference
Great game! Well done Australia from SA.
daugunu read that walsh players mind when he scored his second try. like a planned move
My exact thoughts the kick was like a tease for the Welsh player to keep it in
Love Wales they played well, unlucky also. From a Saffer..
Wales......woeful. Australia.......magnificent. Proper rugby by the Aussie boys.
That Daugunu try was an absolute gift lol. If you attempt to keep the ball in play, and it doesn't come off well for you, it makes you look like the bluntest tool in the shed. Perhaps it's best you don't ever try it again, when you've got a flying winger coming at you at full speed.
Yeah mate that's two in two weeks.
It was a good plan until it isn’t! 🤣
@james lowe lol
Yeah....a gift from incompetent Officials. It was a line-out to Wales and totally different to the James Lowe blunder that gifted a try to Kolbe. James Lowe was standing inside the field of play when he "batted" the ball infield......Liam Williams was outside the field of play when he "batted" the ball infield, doesn't matter if he landed in the field of play.
NZer here - go you Aussies! Go you good things!
9x straight losses. That's got to be a new record in Welsh rugby history.
Under Warren Gatland.....
How the once mighty have fallen.....
It's alot more complicated than a coach WRU fucked the entire development of players by choosing clubhouse rugby over regional and by cutting their funding it's only serious problem now cause everyone has retired and the younger generation has to come forward.
@@ANON29421 Which raises the question. Why did Gatland even bother with coming back in the first place? What could he even do with a team that's totally cash strapped at the moment? He was once a great, but he was no miracle worker by any means. And what you're seeing is his eventual decline, as well as the team he had coached to success over many seasons. I don't expect him to last much longer in the coaching business. His reputation is in tatters and he knows it.
It's amazing how quick you Muppets forget that he was a major reason you guys were even relevant a few years back 😂
Agree that Welsh rugby is in a terrible place at the moment with no apparent way out of it in sight
I have seen reports that Gatland is under pressure after this run of losses
But is there any other coach in world rugby who could have done as well as he has in his current stint with Wales given the very thin resources that he is working with?
@@conorcahill5422tbf I thought Wales were better this week and were in the game all the way through, a couple of mistakes cost them but deffo an improvement and I'm not welsh just an outsider looking in.
The wrfu have alot to answer for for sure n the way their system works but it was never going to be easy going down under against the home team that's also re building.
With what gatland has I think he's improving them as a team n making them more competitive. I think if u had the best coach in the world whomever that is lol he wouldn't be able to do any better tbh.
Wallabies scoring from anywhere 💪🏻🇦🇺
The Wallabies need to keep this momentum if they want to go against bigger teams like the ABs, Boks etc.
Looking good Wallabies 👌🏽
As a Bokke, great seeing our southern Hemisphere brothers performing well again
Kellaway is just pure class
A good start at least under Joey by clinching the series against Wales
Gees, that Welsh rolling maul is good
We back baby 🤘
The Welsh leeked too many tries.
Battle of the Kiwi coaches
You would think that doing what James Lowe did last week would have cemented in their minds, DO NOT DO THIS, and yet Daugunu gets a gift just like Cheslin Kolbe did. Both NH teams tried this and both SH teams capitalized and scored their respective tries.
Also can I just say:
Team kit colours
Light blue v dark blue
Orange v Red
Dark green v light green
And then the contrast Black v White.
Fascinating that the team kit colours this series was similar.
Good on ya Wallabies. Scratch another for the south!
I can understand people being patriotic about their country and have no issue with it, but being patriotic about a hemisphere is too ridiculous for me.
@@the3rdtruth211Why?
That first Aussie try from their own try line was beautiful. An entertaining game, Wales will be annoyed at a couple of very soft tries though.
Gutted for Wales, made a few mistakes and were punished by an improved Australian team. Looked like a great match.
its like watching a subbies curtain raiser game before the main game
Damn that first try could be try of the year?
“He had no right and he found a way” 😂😂😂
Well played cuzzies on the West island 😊 you did good, awesome in fact
Australia was not planning on scoring that first try. Wales disturbed their initial plan of kicking for touch.
4:15 That's what I call a James Lowe freebie🤣
Congratulations Wanabies🤩💯👌from a diedhard ABS fans👌
Go Wales! 🏴
Yes, those New Zealand coaches are pretty good!
Wales showed significant improvement tonight, but their costly errors - such as the botched 5-meter lineout and obstructing Australia's penalty kick - ultimately determined the outcome of the game. Despite playing better overall than the Australian team, the Aussie deserved the win. ~ from the ABS fan!
Better effects audio than the NRL.
Wallabies looking good
💪💪💪🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺 Respect from NZ 🇳🇿🇳🇿🇳🇿
The forwards look weak.
Cmon wales gifted them most of they're tryes
Awesome Wallabies
Flipping great game
負けた~でも4トライできて 良かった。
日本から応援してます GOGO Wales🇯🇵🏴
Looked like a great game! Both teams gave it all.
Love our wallabies ✌️
Australian pressure probably led to Welsh mistakes and Welsh defence was a mess. 2 driving mauls does not cut it for me. Australia are a rejuvenated side with Joe Schmidt in charge. Wales went on the attack, but were always chasing the game. only 5 points difference then the extra 3 at the end. means australia were more desperate for the win.
From a Chinese supporter the wallabies played fantastic.
That try by Reodoaia was mad.
Welsh second try was aussie penalty. welsh jumper was shielded before landing.
Wallabies can't even sell-out stadiums anymore 😂😂😂
Another entertaining test match from the Wallabies
Smoking Joe Schmidt is making the world of difference for Australia
Both teams looked better than the ABs! Well done from nz
What a bizzare bunch of tries. Almost all of Australia’s tries seemed like lucky breaks
Wales gifted them mate
I think both teams defense looked a bit shaky
You make your own luck
If you dont make those mistakes and pay attention to detail, those tries dont get scored.
@@davidtaliai996 fair play, it takes awareness and opportunism
i still love my wales team :)
What a fucking tackle by 16 to save the try
What a game!!!!
looks like williams had a absolute shocker
Perhaps the Australian rugby union should change the 40 watt bulb they are using to light the stadium.
super rugby americas
Wales did quite well there . a few mistakes were costly and lost the game but those things can be fixed.
Rio Dyer had no right to finish that try.
I love the wallabies
I really hope the wallabies are back to a competitive level from an abs fan because it's not the same without that rivalry.
Hope that one day i will see the wallabies who used to be compared to new Zealand
Australia's orange-mustard colour shirt is really nice.
Wales gifted the aussies nearly All theyr tries
Looks like a massive crowd of 1200ish
Who cares. Theres millions of us watching from abroad
A win but a great team does not concedes too many points, our Wallabies have to do better still a lot work to improve the defense part of the game
The Crims win, but Wales, apart from liam William's try assist for the opposition, played one helluva lot better.
its sad that this highlight is better than the Stan official one
