Somali art and culture on display at Toronto’s Nuit Blanche

Somali language, culture, art and music will be the focus of a new exhibit at the Nuit Blanche festival in Toronto this fall. CBC’s Talia Ricci spoke with some Somali artists about the show, titled Building Community: Dhis Bulshada.

I am a starving artist 😉in downtown Ottawa, in my 60's white female. I always wanted to travel just to see the architecture and art of "faraway lands". It is the wonderful exposure to the art of other cultures that really inspire my inner artist. I believe there is an artist hidden in each of us! I cannot travel so l hope this beautiful exhibit will make its way to Ottawa. Luck to all the artists on their show!👍🏻😄🐾🌈☮️🇨🇦🦋

It's forbidden to create/draw living/non-living things in Islam, they can expose the tools they use in their daily lives but they can't create/draw arts like she was doing.
