Wow! What a transformation! You did great work renewing that Yamaha jetski, John.

Great job man! I'm amazed that you got that replacement seat cover on that tight. I have the same ski in the same year and I'm working on it now. What did you do to the front plastic hatch cover to get it that shiny again?

For the seat cover, just make sure to keep everything pulled tight and really work all the wrinkles out toward the edges and then staple it tight. You could also use a heat gun to make it easier to form and work with. I did not use a heat gun when I did mine though, so I don’t think it’s 100% necessary.
For the plastic hatch cover, I just took a cutting compound, buffed it with that, then polished it, and finally waxed it. It looks better on the video than it does in person I will say that 😂

@akgearhead good videos on this ski, I have found this same ski but a 1996 for a $1000 he says it runs but he went to start it and nothing he tried jumping it by bypassing the battery and nothing, he stuck a new battery and nothing . The overall shape is pretty good , I know nothing about jet skis , I want your opinion on it , do you think I should get it ? You sound like you know more than I do. Thanks in advance

Did you use spray adhesive when putting on the seat covers?

No. You definitely could, and it would probably make things easier. I personally try to avoid it so that in the event it gets changed again, it doesn’t rip chunks out of the foam
