You live in a beautiful area! As a 62 year old widow living alone for the first time (after 41 years of marriage), I would love it if you could do a video about your typical weekend daily routine and whether you cook for one or eat out. I have two dogs that help me to not feel so alone, but it’s really hard not having my best friend here to talk and joke with. We did everything together and life alone feels so alien to me.
Hang in there.. I became a widow too in 2006. Make it point to go out w a friend once a week at least. Don’t isolate and create a routine for yourself including maybe a new thing you might like to try..Praying for you
@@pamcornelius9122 absolutely my friend! They always see if you wanna friend be a friend. Loneliness is real. I make myself go out at least once a week with a friend even if I don’t know that person very well, I asked them to go out to supper early on a Friday night or Saturday night. I never let myself sit at home all the time… You’d be amazed how many people there are out there that are lonely, and would be doing better if they had someone they could talk to. That was the toughest part of my journey was the loneliness but I’m better now. Be brave. Reach out and find a new normal. Maybe get involved with a Bible study or if you go to a house of worship anything like that is helpful . Or get a good book from the bookstore and go sit in a coffee shop or Starbucks and read or any other quaint little place so you’re out around people. Make a schedule if you need to in your house of what you’re going to do so you don’t have that overwhelming sense of nothingness in your life. Having my dog in my life really helps me to. I will say that!-OK enough of my chatter :-)
I have a throwback tv night where I watch network tv with commercials. There are 2 shows I really like and I race with the commercials to empty the inside cans and get the trashcan rolled out to the curb. By the time the shows are done, trash is gone and it’s time to get ready for bed. It’s a pleasant weekly routine that breaks up the week nights. The library has local music groups and speakers. The audience is full of introverts who will be good company. Once or twice a month will help give some structure to your life. I’m not a very ‘good’ Christian, but church and coffee hour pull me out of my isolation and connect me with others who are working to feed the poor, address gun violence, promote mental health care, etc. Obviously you’re going to have to choose wisely and within your own value system with this suggestion. Pickle ball on Saturday afternoons? Cheap night at the theater? Walking groups in the area? My point is that it’s hard for introverts, especially where you’ve been out of practice for 41years, to constantly be reaching out and getting things planned. Use some of these activities that are already happening and start showing up for them regularly. It will feel not great at first. Stick with it for awhile before you decide it’s not for you. In time, you’ll figure out how much is enough and which are most enjoyable. Did you go to a grief support group? Some are great. Some not so much. It’s worth finding out if there’s a good one near you. Trust your instincts and your ability to find your way. All the best to you.
@@LF-Loud Excellent advice, thank you. I definitely need to start a routine of some kind. I did attend a couple of Grief Share meetings, but there was one woman who monopolized the meetings by talking most of the time and the leaders weren’t good at getting things back on track. I stopped going and tried a couple of different therapists but I felt like that wasn’t helping either. My doctor advised me to take antidepressants but they scare me. I mostly stay in bed in the afternoons, which I know is bad. I have zero motivation. I was going to a church that I liked but being around people I don’t know is so stressful. I am going to try to take your advice and start an enjoyable routine, even if it’s only one thing a week. I know I need to make myself start doing something that involves being around people even if it’s just going back to church. Thank you for taking the time to write such a thoughtful response. 💝

Hello from Arizona! Your videos popped up on my feed recently and this one is outstanding. Very beautiful and peaceful…from the scenery to the sweet dog, to the calming music. Good job.
Oh Jenn. All I can say is that place and your video are ENCHANTING! The music was making me think of long ago native Americans. It was almost as if I expected to see them. Perfect video. I think Skye knew the rabbit was there and was pointing it to you. Some hunting dogs do that. I think she was waiting to see what you wanted her to do. I liked it when she tinkled then turned as if to say, “Did you see that, Mom?” She is such a good and beautiful fur baby. Thanks Jenn. This video just took my breath away.
I want to live there. You live in such a beautiful area. I swear I would be outside all the time I would never be in the house and I am 76 years old, living single for the first time in my life.
