  • The D7 has gone about as far as I can take it on camera, the next time we see it will be for a ride out.
Time to dig out the bits I've been collecting for the next project.
Thanks for watching, please like and subscribe if you enjoy what I do.
    best wishes,
    Dean.

Hello everyone, a number of viewers have mentioned the volume of the video. I agree that it's really not adequate. The microphone on my new device isn't a patch on the old one, I will experiment with an external mic and try to get it sorted for the next video.
    Best wishes, Dean.

That was brilliant. I enjoyed it. Project Stop Gap looks good, plenty of interesting things to do. The D7 sounded nice gurgling away. I hope the crank is ok. I have to say that the fact you have misgivings about it means you will probably be in there again before long. Looking forward to progress on the bike and the mill. Thank you for the mention of my channel, it is very much appreciated.

You are welcome, I should have mentioned it in the last video. I already have plans to build another crank for the D7, if nothing else it helps to hone my crank truing skills!
      Best wishes, Dean.

Great update Dean, it'll be nice to do a project where you add that personal touch. The mill upgrade will be good too. Looking forward to visiting South Fox Richer again soon and see the progress first hand

Stopgap looks to be quite a lot of work. Good luck Dean. I've got a DT175B that's similar, but I've got a bit more to start with. We're into snow here today so just sitting around watching everything turn white and marveling at the beauty of the years first snow.

Hey Jack, no snow yet but colder weather is on the way. Stopgap is a rather..... ambitious... project! Not much to go on yet but it's been an idea of mine to build a bike from bare bones for a while. Perhaps I should get out more!
      Best wishes, Dean.

Man ! that's a heavy duty seat base built for a battleship (it's got the grey) . Maybe you could modify it to fit .If not Good luck on finding a seat for it ..

I was lucky Larry, one of my viewers sent me a good seat that just needed a small repair.

Thanks for the video Dean. Most enjoyable and a great intro to your new project. I'm really looking forward to seeing this come along.
A very pretty part of the world in which you live. A long, long time since I've been there.

Will be great to see progress on the green laner. You failed to mention the D7 seat pan is 1/4 of the total weight of the bike! Yes it was well made all things aside. Look forward to the next installment........regards, Bones

I think changing that seat will be a performance upgrade Bones! I'd send it to you as a souvenir of your visit but I'd struggle to get the mobile crane up the driveway.
      Best wishes, Dean.

Nice one Dean, I"m going to follow the progress as Ive got a decent D7 engine and a D10 frame ( needs down tube straightening ) and Ive toyed with the idea for a while, I already have a standard
    D3 👍

This is an interesting channel, but the volume on your recordings varies from low to VERY low. For anyone with hearing problems (yup, that’s me) it makes it very difficult to follow what you’re saying. Could you do something to improve that, perhaps? I’m very interested in your Green-laner project. Either way, thanks! Les

Les, my apologies. The device I was filming on was damaged and the new one really isn't as good. I will be experimenting with an external microphone as I have noticed a difference in the sound quality myself.
      Best wishes, Dean.

Any chance of turning the volume up at you end its very quite?

    • @retromechanicalengineer
      @retromechanicalengineer  9 месяцев назад +1

I will be trialing an external mic, as this device records much quieter than my previous one.
      Best wishes, Dean.
