Hello. Thanks for the tip on not stalling out. I really appreciate it. On my first road test I hit a curb. Today is my second attempt. Wish me luck. Thanks again for the videos.
Wassup , I work for the post office and almost all of are trucks are automatic but we have this one stick shift truck I can drive it but I am rusty when I up shift it’s smooth but when I down shift it’s rusty
Absolutely. I asked my “teacher” about whether or not to downshift when coming up to a stop and his answer only confused me. Now that I know I can stop normally with the brake then reset when stopped makes me ready to get back out and try tomorrow.
This helped me a lot I thought I had to downshift from 10 to the gear I start in which is 3rd gear before I came to a complete stop. I told my instructor that’s too much work and so little time lol.
This my instructor wants make to downshift from 7th gear straight to 4th gear like 50 meter to the red light. I ain’t get all that time. I am just a beginner.
When your coming to a complete stop like he did at the end where he just used the brakes to stop do you push in the clutch all the way to the floor like a manual car to not stall the truck or just half way push in the clutch like double clutching length??
This guy makes it simple to understand in one sitting. My 1st CDL instructor just yelled and the second tried breaking shifting down to a looooong drawn out equation. Both tried having me downshift when coming to a stop and never mentioned that you can just brake the same way that you do in a car.
I went to and graduated from trucking school 2018, haven't drove a manual in 3 years. I'm able to float gears but simply forgot how to down shift smoothly. This was a tremendous help and refresher, Thank you. As per your request I did subscribe, liked, and commented.
My instructor rolled his eyes at me. I'd been on the road before but it would be weeks apart and the first time I was with another instructor. I was taught the gears 5 minutes before and then thrown in the middle of lunch traffic. I had no experience with manual driving. The school had you do straight backing/offset in a 6 speed that I had no idea how to operate. Straight panic mode. Everybody I came with had manual driving experience or actually truck driving experience. I was focused on not hitting objects they focused on maneuvers. The whole time I'd released the cluth and it would idle forward. My test is in to weeks and I start in 2nd gear because the only time I get to familiarize myself with the cluth is at intersections. The yards practice 10 speed is so hard to push down it feel like I'm doing legs press and to have to use muscle to shift it into gear. SMH
Kendu Williamson Remember that you need rpms to move the truck without stalling. Try this, hold brake and clutch at same level when you are ready to move, then let go of the brake and start using your gas and slowly off the clutch. Think of it as a bicycle pedal, gas goes in clutch comes out. Same pressure for both.
Im so glad i have manual transmission cars, helps me out alot when i drove my company truck just to move it around the yard, but i need to learn how to park the trailer straight😂
This is a real driving school teacher not like the one I went to. He was always on his phone and not ones thought me the speed limit for each gear. I thank you know bro thanks to you I learned that here.✌🏼
Thank you this was helpful, I’m driving again this week & the best part was of this video it help me understand at what gear i am & what gear I should shift next ! 15mph=6 gear 25mp=7 gear 35mp=8gear 45mph=9gear 55mph=10
This guy was recommended to me by my brother and he told me during his training he saved him to pass. I am currently working on going to school and I am so grateful that he is so informative. Thanks Bro, appreciate you
This instructor is the best I’ve seen, Wish he taught at my school. My second day on the road today my instructor cursed me out basically because I grinded alittle and had no clue on when to shift. First time ever driving anything manual. This video will help me now I know when to shift.
Cass A manual i have 4 classes left on my hours and this video is the best training i had to understand better, thank you for this video! my road trip went great today. lets go!
I got my license in 2018 and today I’m going for a new job which is manual. I have not driven manual since I got my license. I worked for a company that switch to automatics for a little over 4 years. I’m waiting for to take a test ride! This is definitely refreshing my memory! Let’s hope I downshift properly.
I just subbed. Been driving OTR 4 years and only in an automatic. Just went local and took off with my "trainer" today. Dude is grinding gears left and right! Lol. I do a road test in the morning so I've been watching your vids. Thank you for posting these brother.
Nice vid love the way to talk through the gear and what to do. giving the student a full understanding of the process is to get the feel. I'm in school now.
helped me get a breakthrough with the trouble i was having downshifting. your explanation gave me the connection i needed to "get it". i took my exam yesterday and passed. what a load off.
Been driving for years & this video asking w/sum recent practice is so helpful. Never had it explained in simple terms like this. I will keep reviewing this. I have a road test for a new job this week & didn’t want to be grinding their gears 😂
Hello im working on getting my CDL A your video's are very helpful out of all the video's i have watched yours help me the most your video's are very helpful.
I'm learning to drive a 10 speed and I can't get back in missed gears for shit. I keep grinding the gears but I'm learning to float gears not double clutch. I'm glad I watched your videos because I didn't know about the 25 for 7th and 35 for 8th that's going to help me find my right gears.
Another good way to find out how fast you are going is to look forward while the truck is moving and try to remember and have a feel of how fast 15, 25, 35 ,45, 65 mph looks like . Once you have a sense of how fast you are moving, you don't even bother looking at the gauge to see how fast you are moving. Instead you can focus on shifting to whatever gear by seeing how fast you are moving and ears to listen to the engine
This is one of the best videos I've seen on shifting and double clutching. I take my test on Monday (21 Mar) and I believe this will help me tremendously. Thank you for posting!
Thank you for your video. I started driving on the road two days ago (one hour each day), today I just found out I only have four hours driving time before my next week DMV test. I am so nervous right now. And your video helped me a lot. The only practice I can have is in my mind.😓😓
I like that way she show how to drive manual transmission all Upshifting and Downshifting and rest of the manouvers turn right and left excellent way to
This video was great today was my second day driving and my instructor is awesome but not as detailed. This driver made me feel alot better as well lol
This is a great video for people on school this guy is very patient and informative but it says advanced and isn't what i needed i just got in a 10 speed haven't been in one since school a yr ago so I'm trying to figure out mountains and faster shifts but looks like imma just have to figure it out is not like anyone gets it their first try keep up the hard work spend good luck!
Hi brother. You are a great teacher I like your patience with your students. Mostly you are my number 1 . your videos helps me a lot. Even here in Africa we are very proud with you brother. Be blessed always.
I wish my instructor was this hands on. This guy reminds me of tony montana. Great videos. Hope i pass my on road, didnt realize had to study my Air brakes as well for auto restriction removal. Easier but still nerve racking.
Thanks for real, your explanation of the two second shift time was was new to me just got into class and started driving these last two days. Thanks again now I have another avenue to execute this exercise. 👍🏾

This video helped me TREMENDOUSLY at the end where he says we don’t HAVE to downshift all of a sudden. We can just brake to a Stop and reset👍🏾
Yes

6 videos in on 10 speed manual. I finally found the one. Thank you 🙏🏾

Thank you. The "clutch, clutch, gas" and "clutch, gas, clutch" helped a lot.
I love this guy. My instructor is so frustrating and makes you panic some time off of his VOICE ALONE
I’m dealing with the same shit my shifting instructor is garbage im learning from RUclips.
Dam hope my instructor ain’t like that
I wished I had an instructor like him! My instructor yelled like a damn drill sergeant!
👍😅
The worst type of instructor for driving fo sho. Need a laid back guy to not add to the panic
My instructor rolled his eyes at me. I'd been on the road before but it would be weeks apart and the first time I was with another instructor. I start using the manual transmission on Monday. I never drove a manual before so I am nervous. You make it look easy to do it. Great stuff!
Kendu Williamson Thank you, good luck. Learn your double clutch first. Everything else will fall into place.
Thanks. I went out in the manual and I keep stalling when stopped at a red light going up hill. I know you are very busy bit any advise?
Kendu Williamson Remember that you need rpms to move the truck without stalling. Try this, hold brake and clutch at same level when you are ready to move, then let go of the brake and start using your gas and slowly off the clutch. Think of it as a bicycle pedal, gas goes in clutch comes out. Same pressure for both.
Joel Rodriguez no, you can shift at lower rpms. It all depends on how heavy you are and what is your incline.
Im so glad i have manual transmission cars, helps me out alot when i drove my company truck just to move it around the yard, but i need to learn how to park the trailer straight😂
This guy needs to be at my school this is simply amazing its so simple yet powerful!

He's a really good teacher good job
I am 100% sure you all need to create a instructor program and train the trainers. Best explanation of how to shift on the internet!!!!
You are a very good teacher!!!All my teachers just yelled and said put it in gear when I couldn’t get it in gear.
Thank you for your awesome instructions! I was the only one that was allowed in the freeway on my my first behind session because of this video
This video is so helpful. I'm a mom of 4 about to go to trucking school here in Florida. Trying to learn as much as I can before I go
