Smart idea! Thank you! Good Will always has great shirts for $3.99 and color coded discounts worth 50%off! This is the best idea! I love it. Your father is very lucky. You are very talented
I will make this however an even better idea is to flip up in front the lower edge about 2" so that there is a catch area for something they drop. It works well.
Like the idea, my husband has Parkinson’s and having trouble holding utensils because of shaking. I got him a adult bib but he said he was embarrassed using it in public. I seen kitchen boas, and some lady made men boas out of sports fabric and my husband liked that idea. I’m just trying to sew again after 35 years and both torn rotor cuff surgeries. Thought I’d share.
My Dad really likes his and uses it every dinner. It works out perfect cause like your husband he was embarrassed with the ones that looked more like a bib. They sell out quick when I make one and post it on my Etsy site. Too bad I sew so slowly. LOL Let me know if you would like to be notified when I get one made and have it for sale . You could check it out if you’re curious. No obligation to buy. Btw if you make one and have any questions feel free to email me. Sally
Thank you for your kind words. My Dad uses it all the time for all his meals. If I make another I will make it a bit narrower and I will make it with a velcro closure behind the neck. He doesn't like that the over head style might mess his hair. I've received a lot of positive comments and plan on making some to sell on my etsy shop but haven't gotten around to it yet.
Hello. After you cut the front into the shape you want. You lay it with right sides together onto the backing you prepared with interfacing. Pinning it just below the lowest button that would still allow us to get the shirt over the head. Turn under a bit so the interfacing will be hidden in the cloth sandwich you’re making. Sew down and around the bottom and up the other side. Cut your excess. Then turn the whole thing outside out . Like you would if it were a pillowcase. Sew across the top opening. You might have to hand sew if there’s is a pocket. Then sew around the perimeter of the front for a finished look. I’m happy to hear you might try to make one. Enjoy!
Hello and Thank you for your interest. I have nothing this style in my inventory right now. I have other aprons for your consideration in my Etsy shop if you would like to take a peek. www.etsy.com/shop/RomanticRefashion
Hello, thank you for your interest in my video. Sorry to say I don’t have a pattern for you. I made it as I went along with no pattern but I hope I explained my steps detailed enough so you might be tempted to try to make one for yourself. Have fun!

Nice video thank you
These would ideal for sewing groups to make for bedbound nursing home residents...especially using thrift store shirts and ladies blouses.
Yes! Wouldn't that be awesome. Thanks for commenting
Such a great idea!
Nicely done!
Thanks for watching!
This is fantastic! I’d never heard of such a thing, but what a great thing to make. I will definitely be trying it - how did you Dad find it?

Great idea! I’m going to make 5 $ donate to the local VA home.
That would be awesome! Thanks for your interest.
I am researching on how to make a bib for a man. I am a little confused on how you added the backside of the fabric and how you cut it out.
