I bought my first new set of congas (quinto, conga, tumba with stand) in 1978. Gon-Bop’s with mahogany shells and cow skin heads. $994.00 out the door. They are long gone. Eventually came apart and couldn’t be fixed. To this day I’ve never heard a set of drums that where as warm and easy to play as those Gon-Bop’s. Ya! Mahogany. Gota Love It.
I've had the pleasure of having a tour of the facility and it was a great experience seeing the quality put into each and every drum by the Moperc's expert team. Really each drum will have it's unique sound, so I it depends on your use and personal taste. But you can be sure of the quality of each drum. I find the Mahogany drum to be both warm and crisp with a warm sound with less resonance.
Bro it's not the congas brand that smoke's them drum to sounds that good! It's EP the congero that smoke's them the goodness out of them MOPERC any style drums
I adopted the Tropical series 15 years ago but in the sunset color of your Poncho Series. I was also interested in the simplicity of the model. No regrets. Small question though. My large bongo resonates much less than the small one. Could the thickness of the skin be the cause? Thanks for your great lessons!
The Brazilian Mahogany has a warmer sound, particularly the congas. I will eventually get a Tropical Series tumba to go with my Fat Conga conga drum.
Hi Eric, love your work! Thankyou for all you do!!! I am curious as to which sound is most true to what you actually hear when playing, EQ or no EQ? Thankyou, Ciao from Roma!!!
amazing
Both congas sound amazing wow they are super congas best in the world poncho sanchez series and tropical series
Excelente maestro bendiciones.
Q ha pasado con los tacos
Hermosos cueros y hermosas afinaciones
I prefered the ash sound ! It sounded more open round and clear
🥵🥵🥵🥵🔥🔥🔥🔥
I get the feeling that Eric has no tables, no barstools, no chairs… just congas everywhere
8:48: the tumbas are about equal, but the Sanchez conga ‘sings’ more than the Tropical
ive played both, mahogany sounds loads better
I can't really hear any significant difference here, and it's hard to know if it comes from the skins also
