You are praising congress for 1992 reforms and foreign investment, but not accepting it's too late, wasted a golden period from 1950 to 1992. In this period only US become global leader 😂😂

First understand what the reforms is. Before reforms our market is fully contolled and not allowing foriegners neither invest or sell the products. India did not produce anything that world wanted nor had capability. We exported raw materials like iron ore that goes to developed countries and converted to value added products, sold in growing domwstic market. Thats how they created the wealth and they were growing market during that time.
Before 90s we had very small middle class and few wealthy people. If we reformed earlelier, foriegners might not able to sell enough quantity of their products to be profitable
Instead Indian rich people will import that would have killed small Indian manafacturing.
But in 80s and 90s the US and European market has slowly moved towards matured market. In matured market where the supply is more demand is less. In this case, companies has to offer producta at cheap rate. Alternate location China for Manufactring and India for Services.
When reform started foriegn export increased and India has become wealthy.
So forget about India would have competed with the US.
If India had to compete with the US, Europe and Japan as soon as we got Indepwndence, then we should have had head start during the Industrial revolution itself.
Unfortunately, majority of us Indians uneducated and divided by caste. Many of them are denied education.
Stop blaming Congress for everything.
