Casuals don't know about Kevin Martin or remember him from his last days, but K-Mart was a stud. He would fit right in with the way the game is played today.
He was overrated
@@ufelzonmeno. Dmbassss
I loved him when he came to Houston when Tmac was traded away. I wish Yao would have stayed healthy and never got injured
Yeah, I'm one of those guys that really likes the underrated dogs of the old eras
Just missed the era for his style of game on the wrong team
Kevin martin had a nice Game !!! His shot was funny looking but he got it to go in
Rockets fan here. He is lowkey the Steph before Steph Curry, borderline All-Star level. Unstoppable offense. Think of him as an introvert all-star nobody knows about. His offense is superstar level, it's just his body doesnt permit him to be a great defender.
Houston fan here as well and it took me a good minute to warn up to Kmart after McGrady was traded away. Kmart was definitely a good player and wished Yao never went down.
The dude wasn't the best defender but he was a legit bucket getter on offense.. his play style reminds me of Klay Thompson's on offense.
no literally
Kevin’s scoring didn’t impact wins because the team was just that bad. I remember seeing that 2011-12 season where he averaged 23 ppg i could argue that it was his best season. I saw nearly every game and i remember that was when Yao got injured and never played. It was all Kevin Martin. He needed help in his prime and he never got that.
As a Laker fan I hated him because he was a good player he always had a great offense game.
@@orlandowilliamson691 His game was so ahead of its time for a high volume scorer. Bro in today’s game with such an elite shooting he would be averaging 30 easy.
@@Mr.PR2000 Definitely his numbers back then show how great of a offense he had. Today's game this dude can average 30/5/5 players score to easily now and don't turn up the defense until the 4th qtr it's almost like we be watching All Star games some nights 😂
@@orlandowilliamson691 Don’t forget he was a master at drawing fouls too. With his frame he always knew how to draw that contact. He was mad OP with the free throws.
HE WOULD BE SO GOOD IN TODAYS NBA
He was a special talent. I missed him on the wolves
He was a beast with Sacramento and rockets
Thats not true. He was a good shooter, but he was not a beast
There have been many great scorers from mid major schools that made a great living in the NBA such as Steph Curry (Davidson), Steve Nash (Santa Clara), Dwyane Wade (Marquette - Mid Major at the end of his departure), Kevin Martin (Western Carolina), and many many more. He thrived on some mediocre ball clubs, never got any recognition for his game and then injuries took a toll on the back end and correct, he just missed the era of where he would've thrived the most.
I miss watching my cousin play when I was growing up. My parents would let me stay up even when he played in Sacramento and the game wouldn’t start till 10:00 eastern time. I remember to this day at my grandmas house on draft night when Little Kevin was drafted. My dad broke my grandmas ceiling fan pullstring after he jumped up and swung his fist in the air! Hahahaha!!! Growing up my idol was my cousin as I grew a love for basketball too. I was going to play on the same high school court in Zanesville for the Blue Devils but we moved when I was in the 8th grade…. I was devastated to say the least.
Thanks for sharing your story! Sac failed Martin once all the early 2000s players left the team. I thought he should have been an all star for us.
I knew about it. He was one of my favorites of the 2000's.
Dude is my all time favorite nba player. Lol people make fun of me when when I tell them this.
@@pirateslifeforme He had one of the smoothest offensive games in league history. He was like Ray Allen. A tad bit quicker and a little more explosion.
Love your channel , always interesting, balanced and insightful reviews
Preciate that man
So underrated. He is a good as any top 5 shooting guards in todays game. He would fit perfectly and would put Booker numbers
Kevin Martin and Elton brand the most underrated of the 2000’s

My fav player to use on 2K for some reason.
K mart used to be my fav player. He is a very low profile player though. Thank you for making this video and recognize him.
That was Kenyon Martin, this is Kevin Martin
@@rosselliswilkinson Kevin martins nickname was k-mart too lol. He signed my jersey and we wrote out “k-mart 23” 😂
What’s crazy is I didn’t start watching basketball until 2005 (I believe his second year in the league). That buzzard beater over the spurs during the playoffs was the reason why I became a diehard kings fan. Lol it’s been super depressing since then. But looking like that’s going to change this year.
Buzzard 🦅 beater lol
He should be playing for the Big3 league if he isn't already playing..
Must’ve never heard of monta Ellis the biggest all star snub
My dad played with kevin in high school and are still friends to this day , he is a super cool guy, my dad is Number 24 in the gus smacker clip 1:07 lol
Love him at Minnesota
Kevin Martin 2k cheat code legend 🔥🔥🔥
He was Klay Thompson before Klay Thompson
Diehard kings fan since 2005. He’s my all time favorite nba player! He’s the reason why I even started watching basketball.
You are actually really underrated
When you reach 100K, I'll be here before 200
I know you will blow up
Really preciate that man, comments like this makes the process so much easier!
Lethal 3pt shooter🔥🔥
Major throwback
After Tmac was traded away from Houston and Kmart came over I became a fan. He was never flashy like McGrady but he was very consistent. He had a nice game always looked like he moved slow but always scored.
Martin was fast bro i remember how slippery he was and would curl like crazy. On the fast break he was the fastest one sprinting for the bucket.
Unfortunately his legacy to many will be that he was packaged with Jeremy Lamb and a pick that would later become Steven Adams to the Thunder for James Harden.
was one of my favorite players in his heyday
I’m also form Zanesville
I really liked his offensive game, but not being a definite plus-defender nor a prolific enough secondary playmaker hindered his longevity, I think. Averaging less than 2 assists for his career as a guard kind of says it all for me.
20 ppg for 7 seasons in a row, 9 seasons with 20 ppg in total, a high percentage shooter outside of his first 3 years, shot 41% from 3 his last season… what else do you want from a player?
Thunder fans would like a word.
He averaged 20ppg and was never really all star level and vanished
Loved k mart man
Who do you want to see next?
Michael finley
Ben wallace
Monta Ellis

Kevin Martin's underrated fit on OKC Thunder.
What's the name of the song in the background?
He was the Jeff Malone we nevwe knew we were miaaing.
Yeah, it was because of the Kings. I read a comment somewhere that people should get paid $10,000 for just being Kings fans.
If that’s the case I should be paid $200,000 lol
Lmao he’s literally just an actually good lonzo
What if Greg oden didnt get injured
Just dropped a Greg oden lol

A Kevin Rule that was created for both Kevin Martin and Kevin Durant lol
