We recently started our channel on our 458 spider, @RichReviews, take a look If you're interested! That would be a great video to see though, would help a lot of up and coming channels like ourselves.
If you run out of idea for a video, I would love to see a 7 - 10 minutes POV video of pure drive in the 360 and the 911, no editing, no music, no review, just the drive
Would love to see a video on how you film your reviews, where to find good locations etc - Was filming a "Car Review" video a week ago but gave up after not finding anywhere discrete enough to film it 🙃
That's a great idea Yuwan. There's many out there like us who want to go out and review cars. I'm still hoping I can go out and do it soon... I'm bored
Just gotta know the area, and sometimes it takes luck in making sure places are clear. You WILL get some odd stares regardless. Some people find it really cool, others think you're onto some kind of espionage and could even call you in to the cops.
My channel blew up 2 months ago to 158k subscribers, til this day im still in shock and some people even recognize me on the streets, keep on grinding your time will come!
Can we appreciate what massive strides the cinematography has taken recently? The part with the Gold in the carpark could've been a TV ad! Been loving the fantastic videos! Also those videos about getting into automotive RUclips sound fantastic, and would love to see them!
Sam, you gave a lot of really genuine advice here about starting a RUclips channel. Big respect for that. You're a class act, and you truly lift up other creators.
@@BrendanEvan Nice! If I may continue with your line of thinking; if he does experience significant financial losses the series could be called: Taking A Barth
I’m a massive petrol head but also a musician and over lockdown I’ve made the jump into creating some RUclips music/guitar content so I would absolutely LOOOVE for you to do an editing video because that’s been the biggest hurdle for me! Been a fan of your video style for years, one of, if not my favourite automotive RUclips channel! Thanks Sam!
Fantastic content! Whether you're a car buff or just love sleek rides, this channel delivers. Engaging videos and thorough breakdowns make it a go-to for all things automotive
Just started to look back at the videos when you went to Monaco with Seb, James and Paul. What a time that was, super fun and really was the high point for all you guys. Hopefully we can see that kind of adventure soon again👍🏻
Videos like these can be helpful for automotive youtubers like myself wanting to know how to do better. Luckily I’ve recent bought a S15 Silvia and have loads of plans for it so hopefully this year will allow me to get myself out there a bit more and work with more people!
Thanks for the pointers. I’ve been around cars my whole life - always wanted to start a channel but 1000% overthought it. I just started and just for fun, it feels great to do something I’ve thought so long about…. Thanks mate
Great advice. I think the "just do it" part is key (please don't sue me Nike). I'm not on this level *at all* but my experience getting started was I think typical: Have an idea, sit on it for a year because "it's not a good time" , stress and overthink the first video, first video sucks anyway because you don't know what you're doing, learn from that, get better, eventually find a style and niche and start growing.
Very simple - just be really rich & buy a new car every weekend. Your channel is one of the very few who's content is genuinely incisive & interesting especially your chats with Tony.
Hey Sam. Just wanted to say well I’ve been watching you career for years and that you are a real inspiration in the game! One of the automotive RUclips OGs!
Yeah, that would be awesome blossum. A little peak behind the scenes how to film and edit together one of your vids! And respect for most of you being your own crew! Especially you for making it really cinematic everytime!
Totally agree with the “just going and do it approach”. I started with a £50 cheap camera with terrible audio and been having great fun. My videos are very infrequent and always me just rambling on while driving my 996 or 912 or Golf R or MGB (that feels like a weird set of cars when I see it written down). I don’t have many subscribers but that’s mostly because I don’t feed the RUclips algorithm in a consistent way. I think the advice I’d need is what kind of editing software to use how to set up multi angle shot cameras but I guess that comes with experience. Great video though and great advice 👍🏼
I’m absolutely loving the road test content you’ve been putting out while the road trips haven’t been possible. They put me in mind of Top Gear in the 90s, which I loved! I hope they don’t completely disappear once normality resumes
Thanks for another great video. I didn't think the X3 would last long. I also thought that buying an SUV would be a great idea for using as a daily, but then came to the realization that they just drain any kind of joy you have in your life. Get a convertible - you know you want to!

Right… got an iPhone and just got me a GoPro Hero 3. Let’s give this a go. Thanks for the encouragement!🏎
Great video, Sam. Out of the plethora of car YT channels out there, you always come across a genuine and passionate about the subject matter. Would love to see a kind of behind-the-scenes on how you approach filming, setup, editing etc. I think people here would find that incredibly interesting.
That was a great video! Short and to the point, just enough time to enjoy a cuppa. Would love to see more of this style in the future. Also the editing/filming style is on point, loving it!
The bit about making videos, That’s always been my advice to people is just go and do it with what you have. Your first videos you look back on and think wow I wanna vomit just watching it but it’s how you progress through the years on your channel that makes it interesting
Boy how I love these mid-week uploads! I wouldn't say that I'm that much of a professional when it comes to filming but if you made a tutorial kind of video on editing footage I'd definitely follow :)
Just started out a couple of weeks ago, almost 100 subs in. Slow but steady, and having fun along the way. Would appreciate some ‘how to’ videos! Cheers,
I personally would love a video on how you edit videos and setup camera for filming. These are the things I struggle with and your content is spot on, so would love your insight. Thanks dude 👍
I just rebooted my car youtube channel by uploading a video after 3 years about the new Mercedes C Class because I'm stuck at home due to covid and Sam uploads this 😂 Liked the vid and I'm only 2 minutes in. Full disclosure, I'm not promoting my own channel btw. Been following STG since 2015. Much love Sam 💯
3:00 Hooligan here, can confirm. Love my R. If you're into adventure/lifestyle, check out GeoWizard's "how not to travel across Europe" series. He goes from geneva to bratislava without paying for transportation. He also has a good series where he hikes across norway, never deviating more than 20m from a straight line across it.
Loving the content as always Sam ! Still angry I missed catching up with you in Perth ! You did make a video with my parents ! Keep up the great content as always
I'd love to hear more of your insights on filming, editing cars and generally learn from your experience Sam. I recently purchased a 2009 Cayenne diesel which I am turning into an overland vehicle. As soon as we are allowed I am shipping it to South America for a road trip through Peru, Chile, Argentina and Bolivia. Many of my friends have been bugging me to document this trip on YT. Looking forward to more informative videos on the subject, you could turn it into an extra video per week on Behind the Glass rather than use your main channel.
Sam really have enjoyed this and your behind the glass podcast you and Tony are a great pair ... Tony’s perspective as a professional dealer is interesting as is of course your ability keep things going.... love to hear your F1 thoughts on schedule, drivers etc when testing starts
Brilliant video, would love to see videos on how to edit.. I want to start drone videos but can't edit for the life of me. Also big ups to you for loving a bit of Kara and Nate, absolutely inspirational
Hello Sam, Just posting to say I would love to see any of the videos you mentioned regarding RUclips and filming, especially filming a car and editing.
Would love more on starting a car RUclips channel, I did a Masters degree in PR and Media because I was inspired by your journey, would love to hear more please!
Great video Sam...my son and I are just about to hit our first anniversary of starting our Supercar channel: RichReviews and always learn from your content. Thank you. 👍😊
When Sam releases a new video, I bump up the resolution to 4K, go full screen on my iMac, and take out a pad of paper to write down ideas of how he films.
I think that was the best advert I have ever seen. I am not sure how the sponsor will feel about you admitting you don't like the flavour during their advert.
Hi Sam, enjoyed that and thanks for sharing the way you’d go about doing a video! Pretty daunting I bet but interesting to know what tools you would need to start. I reckon I could Rustle up some quite interesting content but have little in the way of personality which has to be 80% of a successful channel!
Nice, Thanks for the heads up on the Hero Audio choice. Being a sound engineer i.e. boom op sound is important. I started reviewing cars I delivered for work and have had a lot of views but not a lot of subs. I started my car playlist through watching you Sam, Seb, SOL, TGE, AHR, mr JWW, Shmee, STRADMAN, Burlacher, Vehicle Virgins, DDE... Yes a lot of car channels. I'd love to colab with some but being up in manchester makes it hard. Love all content and just gotta push. I do Motorbike and skiing videos too.
Where I live (South Carolina), there aren't too many supercars if any. There's a McLaren dealership in Charlotte and Ferrari, McLaren in Atlanta. So it might be something big here.
Video editing and the software that you use would be great, as your editing and music choices are excellent - would love to know more and your experiences with software and hardware used.
Would love to see a video series on behind the glass with how you record/edit, find locations and all the behind the scenes stuff! Would find it really interesting and helpful! 😀 Love the content btw, keep up the good work!
Im just staring out getting into the car/youtube and would love if you made tutorial style videos. JayEmm just did a video on how to approach dealers or get cars to make content as well and that was a massive help and useful info so thank you for doing the same. The knowledge you guys have is beyond gold so sharing it is a real blessing. Keep up the good work. And if you are even in Vancouver BC or plan on coming let me know. There is a big car scene here and great tracks. Would love to show you around and have some meets.
Kara and Nate just rock don’t they Sam? I discovered them not long just after Christmas 2019. Loved their stuff in america in their van - I could see you doing something like that through north and South America in a new defender. You should contact Kara & Nate if you do a big trip and do a collab episode or two!
Would love to see how you film cars mate, have wanted to get into it myself every so often so would be a huge help for myself and others for sure!
Hello guy who stole Nico Rosberg's win
We recently started our channel on our 458 spider, @RichReviews, take a look If you're interested! That would be a great video to see though, would help a lot of up and coming channels like ourselves.
Ben's vlog channel soon??
@Tiametmarduk, Oo can we expect Audi R8 vlogs more often?
I agree
If you run out of idea for a video, I would love to see a 7 - 10 minutes POV video of pure drive in the 360 and the 911, no editing, no music, no review, just the drive
Pedro hes not the Ytber for that...
Would love to see a video on how you film your reviews, where to find good locations etc - Was filming a "Car Review" video a week ago but gave up after not finding anywhere discrete enough to film it 🙃
hey yuwan
That's a great idea Yuwan. There's many out there like us who want to go out and review cars. I'm still hoping I can go out and do it soon... I'm bored
What about starting on your driveway or in your garage? That is what I did / still do :)
Just gotta know the area, and sometimes it takes luck in making sure places are clear. You WILL get some odd stares regardless. Some people find it really cool, others think you're onto some kind of espionage and could even call you in to the cops.
@CarsofGlasgow I'm too introverted to film on my driveway, I need to be away from people 😅
Loving these Wednesday uploads my dude 👍
What up mate. Did you copy me or did I unknowingly copy you?
My channel blew up 2 months ago to 158k subscribers, til this day im still in shock and some people even recognize me on the streets, keep on grinding your time will come!

It has been a while since the last Q&A! Really enjoyed this one, and enjoying the midweek uploads!
Seen Through Glass, Behind The Glass and now please give us; Behind The Seens.
The Abarth track series might be Breaking the Glass if he ends up with any reliability issues from driving it so hard. 😆
@@BrendanEvan Nice! If I may continue with your line of thinking; if he does experience significant financial losses the series could be called: Taking A Barth

4:12 “Behind The Ass” 😂
Pro tip: Taking the foil cover off a drink first allows you to actually taste it 😂
6:20 If you look closely it's actually open, he just didn't remove all the foil in it.
Thanks for the video! This definitely gave me the confidence to start my RUclips channel and funnily enough! Mine started with a golf!😆
Just started to look back at the videos when you went to Monaco with Seb, James and Paul. What a time that was, super fun and really was the high point for all you guys. Hopefully we can see that kind of adventure soon again👍🏻

A tutorial video of how you film videos would be interesting! Great video as always Sam 👌
Hi Sam, I would love a mini series or something on how to film a car and edit videos! Great video as always
Thanks for the pointers. I’ve been around cars my whole life - always wanted to start a channel but 1000% overthought it. I just started and just for fun, it feels great to do something I’ve thought so long about…. Thanks mate

With all these midweek uploads Sam will be able to afford a GT3 in no time! Only joking I’m loving the extra content. 😁
Your B-roll is on point Sam! Good stuff!
Very simple - just be really rich & buy a new car every weekend.
Your channel is one of the very few who's content is genuinely incisive & interesting especially your chats with Tony.
Really interesting video! thanks for this sam :)

Production on your channel has always been good but now it is completely unmatched!
Nothing says STG more than “I strapped a camera to my head.” I love this channel!
I’m absolutely loving the road test content you’ve been putting out while the road trips haven’t been possible. They put me in mind of Top Gear in the 90s, which I loved! I hope they don’t completely disappear once normality resumes
The edit on this is really good. Keep it up sam. Not the usual boring Q&A

Sam you are the last sign I needed to finally decide myself to jump on to RUclips.
Just started out a couple of weeks ago, almost 100 subs in. Slow but steady, and having fun along the way. Would appreciate some ‘how to’ videos! Cheers,
Brilliant video Sam. Nice filming on the intro and really like the chatty style of these midweek updates. Even my wife likes them so that’s a win! 😉

Can’t wait for your opinion on new club sport seriously considering one. 👍
Amazing video Sam! I'd love to see how you film your reviews!!
Top notch @SeenThroughGlass!
Some more of this please Gov'nor!
Full marks!
Your 'Golf R hooligan's comment killed me!! Haha. Well played 👏🏽🤣

you mentioned the 8C 😍. we, Alfisti, thank you

Hi Sam, great Q&A! To follow it up with another question: Where's that iPhone case from?
Video editing and the software that you use would be great, as your editing and music choices are excellent - would love to know more and your experiences with software and hardware used.
He uses Final Cut Pro, MacBook Pro and Epidemic Sound.
Would love to see a video series on behind the glass with how you record/edit, find locations and all the behind the scenes stuff! Would find it really interesting and helpful! 😀
Love the content btw, keep up the good work!
I love your Q&A's. I've been doing youtube on and off for years... I can tell you: RUclips demands frequent uploads
Im just staring out getting into the car/youtube and would love if you made tutorial style videos. Excellent STG montage, top lunchtime upload 😎✌
BMW E34 Touring manual, hope it comes your way!
Loving the mid week vids. I think a guide to making videos would do well as a mid week upload or as you said on behind the glass.
You are right. The golf R is the new Impreza and is owned by yobbos.
Nice to see you’re on the Northern Soul! KTF!
Hello one and all and welcome to Seen Through Glarse
Keep up the good Work
3:41 I see you bebe #behindtheass
Loving the content, mate.

i just started doing youtube but i wanna do it so i can have memories of the things i did for when i get older
