I totally get the demonstration by example of how you want to be treated. You teach people by your actions and behavior and speech without having to overtly tell them, and anyone paying attention will catch on. Conditioning them to respond to you how you'd like to be treated and interacted with.
Hi Daph! Just want to let you know why I watch and subscribed. I work a stressful job, been working since 6th grade actually, yes like u, always learned to do things for myself, was eldest daughter of 6 kids and learned to be caretaker not just sibling to all my siblings, learned from a young age- if u want something done right sometimes u gotta do it yourself- but after years and years realizing I’m an ADHD procrastinator (to help myself) people pleaser perfectionist- your soul, if u will, burns out. I hit full anxiety and burnout in COVID, after a separation from ex spouse, raising kids for yrs, obtaining a bf and just absorbing his anxiety he was dealing with- finally got some great tele-health licensed social worker who shared that mindfulness self-compassion practices can really help reality be more enjoyable than shitty. Things are so much better overall since I really began to think of my thoughts in a different, more compassionate way. We just beat ourselves up constantly as humans. Also listening😮 to the Ten Percent Happier podcast during COVID helped me cope with anxiety, that negative self talk,, feelings of loneliness etc. now when I’m not just “happy”, one emotion, don’t have to be all the time, so when I’m not, I care for myself and how I feel in that moment. I take a moment. Mindful of the thought. Observing it, knowing that’s not me. I know that’s not the truth, I reject the negative self talk, do something for myself to help me out of the funk. Read my mindfulness book, or journal notes from my sessions with the therapist (shout out to TJ in LA hope u r good!), or watch YouTibe videos that take my mind off my negative schtuff. That’s why I watch you ❤. Plus I’m freaking love to cook now one of my fave pastimes Besides getting schnookered after work w/help of Mary Jane like the rest of us rn😂

Where I’m living I hear sirens, usually ambulances, more often than I would have expected since I live more on the outside of the city, also it’s gonna be like 70 here in a couple days, strange weather 🤷🏻♂️

When I think of from scratch, I think of toasting seeds, blending, putting each ingredient into a pot, no spice packet mix used, or precooked chicken maybe, but raw. But not farming the animal, or picking the rice or other grain to make flour to make the noodles…
