"Quick-Lock Lynch Pins" are a direct replacement for the standard like you have and are commercially available (or from your Kubota dealer for a premium price). When running a 12-inch bucket, I just put a bolt with a nylock nut on it because any lynch pin you put on will just get striped right off.
Thats what I always did. The pins were fine for the wider buckets but I tried all kinds of pins but a bolt and lock nut was the best solution for the 12" bucket. Very nice looking machine!

You always will want more machine it's in our nature. The 057 has tremendous power but bigger is always better. The main reason for us is the 057 is far easier to transport with a 1 ton setup and trailer. Technically without going CDL between truck trailer and machine the 057 is pushing the limit. The 080 would have put me over weight. Also I went for the 057 over the 80 because of the -5 improvements. More than likely as soon as the 080 is offered in a -5 I will own one of those as well.
I'm just below the weight limit. We ended up going with a bumper pull equipment trailer to shave some of the weight off of a gooseneck. The trailer is derated as well. Also we are in a very rural area alot of farming. Now on our farm side we use j tags without CDL but can still drive rig within the state between fields and farms. Up to 80k lbs. Best I can remember. And it has to be for just the farm no going between jobsites.

If you go in as cash you can get a pretty good discount but if you're going to 0% interest rate is pretty much is what it is. I've enjoyed ours very thoroughly now one thing that I have on mine that I have not used yet is that second set of remote lines but it is far cheaper to go ahead and get them put on them to do it as an add-on later on the cab would be a must for me and if you can go ahead and get you a few different buckets I've been back to the dealer twice to get a one foot bucket and a 3-ft bucket. The thumb is an invaluable accessory. Really the only thing that I'm going to end up adding to my machine as of right now will be a stereo system that accept Bluetooth past that everything has been phenomenal I don't think I would change anything

I have about the same complaints as you, but over all I really like the machine, the phone holder is the biggest, LOL. I just bought a nice window mount holder. We are running FAE mulching head and it fits well with the 57-5, really like the flow control. You mention having auger and post driver. I am building that in the shop in the next few week, did you find something out there that is a turnkey? I ordered another FAE mulching head and will be selling the other one. thank for sharing.

each time you get out engine running, or shut off, what is the process for turning the hydraulics back on so you can use the thumb etc. On the skid steers the aux resets and so you have to push the button every time, i noticed you do not have an aux button so im wondering how to do it
Alot of the time it is low idling I have the auto idle turned on. Also anytime safety lever is pulled up it low idles. Now for the times I do shut it down. All hydraulics except for the thumb turn on with the red swing down switch. For the thumb to activate it, there is a button on the right hand joystick that turns it on and off. It is a tad annoying activating the aux. Hydraulics all the time as much as I'm in and out being I work alone alot. Thanks for watching.
Hey, thanks for vid. I have a 2020 kx040 and looking to upgrade to a -5 series to a u55 or 057. One of the few things i dislike with my machine is cabin filtration and cab air tightness. If you look at the bottom of floor in the cab around track controls you can see the ground below. Did kubota address this with the new cab? Also trying to find a pic of new cab cabin filter. The -4 models used a terrible filter. Basically lets dirt go right by into hvac system. Did they upgrade cabin filtration?
The cab is so tight I usually have to shut the door twice. As far as the filter I will have to get back to you on that one as I haven't had to replace mine yet. Alot of the times I'll have to crack my slide window to keep from having to slam the door that's how tight my cab is no joke.
@@rollingoakfarms9132 Ive had it since 2012. The heat and ac is great. The cab is tight. Its great for having to check fences in cold weather after a storm. The bed is big and dump is strong. Downsides, it is not great off-road in mud, its heavy and slow. But thats not really what its built for. The cab is uncomfortable for long rides, its just the way the seats are. They addressed this with the new rtv1100x. For farm work its unbeatable, for recreation not so much. The newer ones are way more comfortable.
Have a kubota l4740 tractor. Great machine and would love to have a mini. Only thing is they have a bad reputation for poor hoses and paint. Which they would clean that up.
So far, a year in we have really enjoyed the equipment. The paint and hoses have ended up being pretty robust, being we are not the easiest on equipment. the hydraulic thumb hoses have been very impressive so far. I haven't even noticed any paint fade yet.
I have a KX040-4 and been thinking about upgrading to the 057-5. It is hard to tell in this video but it looks like the arms for the blade aren’t as heavy as the -4 series machines. Maybe it does and I just couldn’t tell in the video but mine has big heavy arms that connect the blade to the frame of the machine. They look like flat stock metal with braces.
They are I'd say inch and a quarter thick with brace webbing and re enforced very well . I don't think I could ever warp or damage them. I've used them alot this far leveling and pushing everything as I go. Y'all will be the first to know if something does happen though.but I very serious doubt they could be damaged the next new video coming up I am blading alot of heavy sandstone and boulders that dang near weight what the machine does. I have a 040-4 and I can see what you're saying. The main support braces are thin wow. The 040 has got to be 3-4" rectangle boxed. Weird but I suppose the engineers made the blade right for the KX057, but looks like toothpicks lol.
Why did you purchase it? I have a Kubota tractor with several attachments and I'm very happy with it. Would love this as well but have trouble justifying both.
Well we have quite a bit of land to clear up that the tractor can't handle. Now I can dig my own infrastructure and stump land. Also we do take it out on jobs/ help neighbors. And worst case scenario if we lose an animal I can bury it. I have found it is nice to have and we use it just as much as the tractor if not more.
How do you use the float feature on the front blade ? Does the feature just drop the weight of the front blade freely or how does it work ? Thanks brother
On your blade control you push it all the way forward to the detent lock in. Once it's shoved forward it's a combination of the blades weight plus hydraulic resistance. I use the hound out of mine

Does the Kubota come with a intermittent wiper yet? Nothing pisses me off more as an owner /operator when using one of our 2018 KX040-4 or 2019 KX057-4 in rain that's not heavy enough to have the wiper operating non stop but enough that you have to keep taking your hands from the joystick to start/stop the wiper or you get a dry blade screeching across the windscreen that wears the blade out and it just a very budget thing for a modern bit of machinery costing in excess of NZD $100k
Yes it does come with a two speed intermittent wiper now. The slow speed is decent for those mist rains that's just enough to piss you off, then the faster speed of course will handle most of a monsoon. I would like it more though if it was set up with a potentiometer on the joystick. The m5. Tractor has the same intermittent wiper on it as well. I do wish they would relocate the air filter intake however. Being behind your left foot is a horrible location and the inevitable reduced filter flow makes the defrost suck. Mine so far has turned into a weekly cleaning just because I'll open the door while the air or heat is on and catch weed seed, or dust bunnies for the few seconds the door is open not to mention the dirt dust.
I have a u55-5 with the same "phone" holder under the display. I modified mine by reaching in with a long razor blade to cut off those ribs. It's not a wiggle-free fit but now holds my phone just fine.
@@rollingoakfarms9132 It's literally the best thing I've ever bought in my life. It has changed the way I do business and opened doors that were never an option before. The hard part is keeping up with all the attachments. These new machines are far more capable of supporting additional functions. The one thing I wish it came standard with (for the amount of money these things cost) would be a tilt rotator with pin grabber lugging, or at least a hydraulic coupler. The manual pin connection works but it's just a prop for the break-out force numbers in the brochure so the brands can one-up each other at every release.
Best thing to do with those lynch pins is to put them in a drill press and drill a small hole towards the tip so you can safety wire them on so they don’t come off unless you want them too. Then you just keep a pair of dikes and a little wire in your storage box.
Ok so my first Regen happened at 80 hours but has not hit again yet. I imagine it will be soon but you can continue running per usual while it regens. The bucket is actually resting on a log through the bunk, country anti theft device since they are very close to the road. It's currently setup outside my fence. We don't have much crime but I'd rather not take the chance of someone deciding it would look good at their house.

For sure that's already in the works, also before you see the video it is very stable and amazing what this machine can do. I wish someone had videos up before I purchased mine, was a big leap of faith for me, I think we got one of the first cab versions to hit Tennessee. Keep an eye out on the next few videos to come I'll fix you up. Also I have been on some very steep slopes where all I could see was blue sky and it performed way beyond my expectations.

I had money down on one then pulled it since I found out the derated lifting capacity from the -4. So far everything I've seen everyone loves the new ones. Iam tall so I want that big cab.
Very quite machine overall, but the cab does make a significant difference. Fit and finish of the cab are great. The 2 different slides on the operators station are nice, you can set your seat slide depth, then set your controls and station to fit your arm reach and best comfort. Overall the cab is very spacious and everything so far has been great for me. I do wish the defrost had a little more rear end behind it like the tractor has, but it still works very well. I must say Kubota really thought alot out on this machine and even listened to the operators to take it to that next level up. Also on a side note thus far the glass has been very forgiving with pieces of trees and rocks/dirt hitting it fairly hard.
One last thing the cab did save me from hornets and yellow jackets already. That itself has justified the cab for me, not to mention being able to work pretty much any weather condition.
Do you want to see the machine in action or an after video? I just finished a large fanned bank down my farm Rd came out very well. We have had several inches of rain the last few days so it will be a day or 2 before I can do a video of it in action.
@@rollingoakfarms9132 well I'm new to the game. My son who's been excavating for 15 years told me to get a kx-040-4 with a six in 1 blade for doing driveways and roads. But I want a little bigger machine. So I really want to see how hard it is to grade a road with only an angle blade and still manage to get a crown in the road.
I'll get you a video out just as soon as the ground is dry enough to work up. I've had good look with my machine. Doing driveways and land clearing I definitely wouldn't go smaller that the 057 but that's just me. I'm ready for the 080-5 to come out.
I am using the Shell Rotella ET it's a opaque color and keeps your machine looking good. Just a heads up I am still working on getting that black junk out. I'm giving 40 dollars a case or so at rural king or tractor supply.
I hired a 3.8t kubota for a retaining wall job I need to do in my opinion the cab was way too small if I looked to the left the machine would turn and the hydraulic power was very weak compared to other brands I have used (yanmar, cat and kobelco) .
I've ran several of the new takeuchi matter fact the 18k pounder was the first on our farm where the house is at. Cleared a little over an acre with it the door flew open because they had not adjusted the latch brand new still had the plastic on the seat. Just the door cost 4k. Found that out as I was spinning around and the door wrapped around a small white oak tree. I ran it probably 40 hrs or so. I'll see if I can dig that old video up and put it on here I think it was a tb 285 or 295 can't remember off the top of my head but that's ringing a bell. Before this Kubota my favorite was a Volvo but they are proud of those parts as well.
Simple like a fox! Spend a little time in the South, and you'll quickly learn that having an accent or speaking more slowly than a New Yorker doesn't indicate that a man is simple or stupid. Usually exactly the opposite.

We put Werk Brau thumbs, hydraulic disconnects, and buckets on all our Kubota Mini’s. Hands down the best decisions ever.

just a heads up as well alot of the camera movement from inside the cab is my Gopro mount on the window, causes a lot of shaking.

Actually kubota machines are shipped from factory without coupler , thumb, hydraulic lines. Dealer installed the lines on thumb.
Right, I have had multiple lines on the main boom loosen too though. Nothing a wrench didn't fix though.

@@rollingoakfarms9132 well I'm new to the game. My son who's been excavating for 15 years told me to get a kx-040-4 with a six in 1 blade for doing driveways and roads. But I want a little bigger machine. So I really want to see how hard it is to grade a road with only an angle blade and still manage to get a crown in the road.
I'll get you a video out just as soon as the ground is dry enough to work up. I've had good look with my machine. Doing driveways and land clearing I definitely wouldn't go smaller that the 057 but that's just me. I'm ready for the 080-5 to come out.

What clear grease are you running? I to have the black grease in and it does look bad…..
I am using the Shell Rotella ET it's a opaque color and keeps your machine looking good. Just a heads up I am still working on getting that black junk out. I'm giving 40 dollars a case or so at rural king or tractor supply.

The tracks seem to be longer so much more stable then the kx40

I hired a 3.8t kubota for a retaining wall job I need to do in my opinion the cab was way too small if I looked to the left the machine would turn and the hydraulic power was very weak compared to other brands I have used (yanmar, cat and kobelco) .
The 057 is the smallest in this lineup we have ran so far from Kubota
bottomline : japanese made is better if not perfect

I put a 6ixer in the grease gun box, some coors banquets make the days go buy well
Nice machine but takeuchi is still the leader in control, smooth controls
I've ran several of the new takeuchi matter fact the 18k pounder was the first on our farm where the house is at. Cleared a little over an acre with it the door flew open because they had not adjusted the latch brand new still had the plastic on the seat. Just the door cost 4k. Found that out as I was spinning around and the door wrapped around a small white oak tree. I ran it probably 40 hrs or so. I'll see if I can dig that old video up and put it on here I think it was a tb 285 or 295 can't remember off the top of my head but that's ringing a bell. Before this Kubota my favorite was a Volvo but they are proud of those parts as well.
If you don’t like this unit go buy yourself a shovel. They are super reliable. And proven through out history. Cheers
Very true, shovel is just not as productive as we need it.
