Rolling Oak Farms
США
Добавлен 5 ноя 2018
We purchased 124 acres of woods in the south east Tennessee, and we are developing our land into a fully operational farm. We built a small cabin on the farm until we can build our dream home. We have started with several animals, and are looking to increase the animal breeds that we do have. As of 2020 we raise cattle, pigs, laying hens, and sheep. We also have a fully operational sawmill business on the farm. Join us as we take raw land to a future operational farm. We will try and produce 2 videos per week, possibly more. We will cover from infrastructure to finished products that ultimately may end up on your table or home-place.

Yes I know it needed grease, it got some right after this. I assumed it already had some in it from the dealer.

Thanks man
It sounds to me like you're never in a hurry for anything. Lol. Thank you for the review.
How’re you liking the tractor so far?
Great commentary onKX
Thank you
Any updates on this mower and how it’s working out for you?
Can someone Please Tell me where to locate the Tranmission Filter on a case 850D THANK YOU
It is under the seat back right corner looking towards the rear of the machine. Another screen up front under the seat and below the steering lever column
Thank you@@rollingoakfarms9132
How are the batteries suppose to be hooked up
I'll look tomorrow I cannot remember off the top of my head.
I put a 6ixer in the grease gun box, some coors banquets make the days go buy well
How many acres of hay do you guys mow per year?
You still liking the 91? Just had mine delivered and pairing it with a 8’ drum mower for our 60 acres
Sadly you didn't come back when bailing. Loved to see how you do that. O well.. thanks for the videos you did do. Hope you are still enjoying your Kubota 091
Accent makes you seem simple
Welcome to the mountains of Tennessee!
Simple like a fox! Spend a little time in the South, and you'll quickly learn that having an accent or speaking more slowly than a New Yorker doesn't indicate that a man is simple or stupid. Usually exactly the opposite.
Working on one. Trying to find the hydraulic filters for the transmission
That looks like the same machine as our 525. It will mow anything. The drawbacks are parts. You cannot rebuild the gear box and it cost 7000 to replace.
Where’s the hydraulic tank at and how do you refill it
Best thing to do with those lynch pins is to put them in a drill press and drill a small hole towards the tip so you can safety wire them on so they don’t come off unless you want them too. Then you just keep a pair of dikes and a little wire in your storage box.
The tracks seem to be longer so much more stable then the kx40
The stability is fantastic will have a 500 hr review soon!
Of course larger machine 13k lbs
I have the big brother, the M5-111, I've got 1400 hours on mine and now that the DEF header seems to be fixed its been a good tractor. I think I'll make a "review" video of mine.
The Case and the blue tractor are the same tractor both made by CNH.
Thanks for the tractor. Appreciate it.
Pretty hilly for sure. How's that M5-91 doing? Any issues or quirks? I know several have drift/leak down issues on the hydraulics. SLC did and so do I. I must watch the FEL pretty close while working in the field shredding or hay work.
Great video!!!!
How do you use the float feature on the front blade ? Does the feature just drop the weight of the front blade freely or how does it work ? Thanks brother
On your blade control you push it all the way forward to the detent lock in. Once it's shoved forward it's a combination of the blades weight plus hydraulic resistance. I use the hound out of mine
@@rollingoakfarms9132 wow thanks I just tried it and it’s awesome, can’t believe I’ve owned it 3 years and never knew that’s how easy it is to use, works great man thanks again
I'm buying one these tractor Monday
I'm looking to buy one this week
Why did you purchase it? I have a Kubota tractor with several attachments and I'm very happy with it. Would love this as well but have trouble justifying both.
Well we have quite a bit of land to clear up that the tractor can't handle. Now I can dig my own infrastructure and stump land. Also we do take it out on jobs/ help neighbors. And worst case scenario if we lose an animal I can bury it. I have found it is nice to have and we use it just as much as the tractor if not more.
Have a kubota l4740 tractor. Great machine and would love to have a mini. Only thing is they have a bad reputation for poor hoses and paint. Which they would clean that up.
So far, a year in we have really enjoyed the equipment. The paint and hoses have ended up being pretty robust, being we are not the easiest on equipment. the hydraulic thumb hoses have been very impressive so far. I haven't even noticed any paint fade yet.
I wanted to share that I found a usb charging port right behind my fuse box. Also a great place to charge your phone.
Oh heck I'm going to have to look at that for sure. Thanks for the tip.
I bought 10 wheel and 2kicker wheels. The kicker wheel frame broke off twice. Built with garbage metal. Exhaust pipe quality. Never again buy Kubota
Hmmm that seems odd all of ours has been pretty robust. No problems so far but I'll keep an eye on it.
None of my tractors have keeping pins on the stabilizer pins. My M7060 has a short chain on top to keep from dropping the pin but those pins will not fall out without the keeper or at least I have never have that happen on any tractor.
We took the keepers off our 9540 the day we got it in 2012 and they haven’t given any trouble to this day.
Just get you some adapter sleeves for your lift pins. That way you don't have to change your lift pins and can still use on your cat one tractors. They only cost a couple dollars each at tractor supper. Will need different size for the top link.
Could you please show me how this machine does grading? Thank you
Do you want to see the machine in action or an after video? I just finished a large fanned bank down my farm Rd came out very well. We have had several inches of rain the last few days so it will be a day or 2 before I can do a video of it in action.
@@rollingoakfarms9132 well I'm new to the game. My son who's been excavating for 15 years told me to get a kx-040-4 with a six in 1 blade for doing driveways and roads. But I want a little bigger machine. So I really want to see how hard it is to grade a road with only an angle blade and still manage to get a crown in the road.
I'll get you a video out just as soon as the ground is dry enough to work up. I've had good look with my machine. Doing driveways and land clearing I definitely wouldn't go smaller that the 057 but that's just me. I'm ready for the 080-5 to come out.
@@rollingoakfarms9132 let me buy your 57. Haha
@@rollingoakfarms9132 and Thank you for your videos and quick replies. I'll look forward to any help or vidz you can send. Thx again. Eric
Thanks for the walk around. Nice new machine I know you really enjoy it. I’m thinking about selling my SVL95-2 and getting a M5-091.
It has been great we have enjoyed it this far. Been real nice haying with it.
Just in time, the rain is coming :)
She is baled and in the barn lol
How do you like your cutter. any suggestions on it, we are looking at buying one, not to big. If you have a chance give our channel a look at and a subscription. South Texas Cattle and Hay. Thanks a Bunch.
I would spread some hay on my dirt but then I'd have to mow grass :)
I know a guy that could take care of that for you.
@@rollingoakfarms9132 Oh they are mowing the front and side already :)
Like the new rake! Field looks good!
Cool :)
They will be headed for my soffit :) haha
Not if I can help it I caught them and have them in their new home
Nice :)
Do you haul it on a 14k rated trailer or is it rated higher than that
Trailer has upgraded tires axles and hitch. If I'm not mistaken it's a 21k derated to 16k.
Good looking trailer and machine. Did you buy the trailer like that? Or change it up after you bought it? I would really like to know what brand it is if you bought it like that. Looking to have a similar setup as you, but want to stay out of cdl requirements.
Could you please tell me the external cab width? Thank you 😊
Decent You should try following it through tho
I always dig with the blade behind me. It can keep the drive path flat and the bucket can get closer to the machine without hitting the blade.
Main reason I dig over the blade is it's cheaper to replace idlers than drives, but for sure I'm not doing it all the time many times I'm trying to get right under myself trenching. Stumping blades out front for sure.
Hard to argue with the results.
Nice job! I finally got my kx057-5 on order.
Me too! How much did they say it was going to be?
Nice
Thank you for telling us your height. I'm 6'4" and looking at this machine for forestry mulching. Enjoyed the video.
Anytime thank you for watching.
Does the Kubota come with a intermittent wiper yet? Nothing pisses me off more as an owner /operator when using one of our 2018 KX040-4 or 2019 KX057-4 in rain that's not heavy enough to have the wiper operating non stop but enough that you have to keep taking your hands from the joystick to start/stop the wiper or you get a dry blade screeching across the windscreen that wears the blade out and it just a very budget thing for a modern bit of machinery costing in excess of NZD $100k
Yes it does come with a two speed intermittent wiper now. The slow speed is decent for those mist rains that's just enough to piss you off, then the faster speed of course will handle most of a monsoon. I would like it more though if it was set up with a potentiometer on the joystick. The m5. Tractor has the same intermittent wiper on it as well. I do wish they would relocate the air filter intake however. Being behind your left foot is a horrible location and the inevitable reduced filter flow makes the defrost suck. Mine so far has turned into a weekly cleaning just because I'll open the door while the air or heat is on and catch weed seed, or dust bunnies for the few seconds the door is open not to mention the dirt dust.
The real life Tom Anderson!!!
My apologies but, which Tom Anderson are you referring to?
