This really helps James… I had a young girl back into my car this morning and very little damage other than the side marker…I needed this video. Hope all is well 👍👍
Congratulations James on your 991, she’s beautiful. Always feel that the basic Carrera without the irrupted lines of a picnic bench on the back looks so much better than a Porsche dressed up!! :)
Hahaha. The picnic bench, the taco stand... I’m so torn. I would have loved to keep the 997 and get the 991 too. One day the picnic bench 997, the next day the naked 991.
This should be everyone's first mod and certainly was mine. I really like to see the mechanical DIY like changing oil, plugs, coils etc. If it's easy enough I might just upgrade to a 991. 😎
Hi I had the Messages in the dash about my side marker on the left side of the car and I just needed to replace the bulb in my 2013 911 Carrera. Getting the side marker was a pain but I was able to get it off by watching a RUclips video. I could not figure how to get the side marker back on the car to fit snug. I know I didn't track anything taking it off and I am wondering if there is some type of notch on the fender that the metal clip is suppose to bump up against. I took my car to my mechanic who works on Porsches and as far as he can tell it looks like there mush have been some little plastic notch the was on the fender that might have broken off when I too the marker off. The thing is I was careful and was not trying to use a lot of force to remove the side marker. I am taking the car back over to the shop one day next week and they are going to use some type of adhesive to make the side marker sit in place and not move. I was wondering if there was some little notch on the fender near the wheel that the clip is supposed to bump up against. I do not want to take the other side marker off to see if there is something on the fender that is now missing / broken when I took off the left side marker. Thanks
Hi, i went from a 964 (I know...) to a 996, then a 997, and now a 991 C4s. You made a great choice. Love the sum-up of mods you going to do. I already did the side-markers. Keep up the great work.
looks great! For the purest at heart, on your wheels, the Porsche crest should point toward the valve stems. I notice they didn't on the wheel shown. No worries - easy fix.
Nice, you removed it properly. Good job! As for your mods, I don't recommend upgrading to the S brakes. It's a lot of work and money. Not worth it in my opinion unless you want the performance upgrade. I would just powder coat the stock calipers. Car looks great as is!
Congrats! think I like this one alittle more then your last 997. Adding some red calipers and interior red stiching pieces would be amazing. Just don't stab anything. LOL
Hahaha. That’s right!! Yes, I have thought about the clear rear lights. I haven’t seen many in person though so I’m not sure how I feel about them yet. I think they could look great with this grey color though!
That’s awesome!!! That’s how I got into this whole RUclips thing. I found some DIY vids online and decided to make them for the jobs I wanted to do. We’ll done!!
I'm sure you can, but the laws at least in the US mandate that you must have yellow bulbs for your side running lights, even though you're allowed to have clear covers. I'm not sure about elsewhere in the world.
That mod is a given in my opinion. Your showing how to do it is the difference between a piece of broken plastic and successful install. Kudos!
Thanks Jonathan, that’s very kind!!
James, I finally took the plunge...997 C2CAB to 991.2 C2CAB --- and this was the first mod I did. Thanks for the great video as always!!
That's awesome Gary and thanks for the photos. Right on!

Bah! Sorry to hear that mate but glad it helped!
Another fantastic DIY video, so much better in clear, quick & easy, I just need to buy a 911 now.
Ha! Thanks Simon. Appreciate it! Now go get one... 🤩
Just ordered mine for my 991.1 off the back of this . They look so much more modern than the standard and a cheap mod too!
That’s awesome!!
Welcome to the 991 club! Looking forward to see your other mods
Thanks Alfredo! 🤩🥳🥳🥳

Beautiful car, I like the shape of the 991 very much and it‘s naturally aspirated, sounds much better. Good Job, James
Thanks Michael! The exhaust notes might be favorite thing about the car, second to the PDK.
Thanks for your helpful video. Got my side markers replaced. So much nicer and now do not have to worry about bulb burning out.
Nice one!

Thanks mate!! More DIY videos coming soon. Next up, oil change or maybe the engine air filters.
Looks way better James, nice mod.
Thank you Jose! Hope all is well with you! 👍🤩
You are making me go to Porsche Melbourne to trade my 997 in - love the videos bro !!
bruno how about I meet you at PCM on Saturday to make sure you go through with it.
Sat is not a great day for me - but next week I’m free :) that blue one in car sales has got me weak at the knees :)
Manual. Miami Blue? Very Nice.
I have Manual GTS Cayman. Love the stick.
Hahaha. Get down there and go drive (buy) one!! 🤩🤩🤩 Thanks for the support Bruno, appreciate it.
Very nice car I am sure you will have a lot of fun in it.I will still be viewing your channel although feeling humbler driving my 997s.
Thanks!! Don’t worry, more 997 content coming soon...! Cheers. Thanks so much for your support!

Thanks Dennis! The 964...??! 😍😍😍
Auto Amateur hi, just installed these little triangles. $40 for a nice upgrade.

I don't know why I watched that James as I've got an S 997 no help to me, but very professional.
Hahah. Thanks Paul!! Appreciate it! I watch any videos about any 911 models so don’t worry; you’re not alone. 😆

Yes you’re right!!! ***runs to the garage to fix it immediately*** 😆👍
begining of a long list of change, improvement or just fun. it's a long but cool journey which starting here !
That’s right! Thanks mate!

Thanks mate! Appreciate the advice. Sounds like a plan. 😎
Keep the old ones. Going need them for inspection. I sold mine and had to use stick on amber reflectors to pass.
Whats your monthly payment on this?
Seriously though..both lovely cars but the PDK takes the 991 to another level..enjoy
They look much, much better. Good riddance to those old horrible orange ones! Nice mod :)
Thanks mate!
Love them wheels!
Thanks Vic!!
Thank you

🤞No promises... 🔪 🤩😆
How do you install deviated stitching?
Looks great bro
So much better and such an easy mod even I could do it 😁
🤩🤩🤩🤩
Always the best first mod. I’m shocked there are still used Porsche’s with amber sidemarkers Lol.
I know, right?! 😆
The clear sidemarkers are stock in some countries. Some places, particularly the US, requires manufacturers to install amber sidemarkers.
Worked for my first mod lol
LOL... my first mod as well
What a clear difference that makes.. no pun intended.. :-0
Ha! 🥳
Any excuse to wield the trim tool! I have the clear rear lights on mine too. Considered?
Hahaha. That’s right!! Yes, I have thought about the clear rear lights. I haven’t seen many in person though so I’m not sure how I feel about them yet. I think they could look great with this grey color though!
@@AutoAmateur Perfect colour for clear rears! ;)
Do you plan to do anything with the wheels? They do look absolutely perfect as is. Just wondering!!
What model are those wheels considered btw?
I’m going to leave the wheels as they are. I really like them. The style is the Carrera S, 20in in factory platinum satin.
@@AutoAmateur They are gorgeous. The car is flawless!!
Thanks mate! 🤩🙌🙌🙌
Welcome to 991 ownership :)
Thanks Mike!!
Are those LED's on the Cayenne? Where did you find them?
LED side markers on the Cayenne? Yes. Check out SuncoastParts.com
@@AutoAmateur I looked on there... they seem to only have the stock halogen assemblies.
Go straight to the point man
5 minutes well spent!
Haha. Thanks!! 🤩
Thank you for the video….subtitle really helped! First one I was really nervous, second one was like I was born for doing this! Lmao!
That’s awesome!!! That’s how I got into this whole RUclips thing. I found some DIY vids online and decided to make them for the jobs I wanted to do. We’ll done!!
This change is one of the lowest priced (but best result) items you can do on your car. If you can't do both in 5 minutes you're not really trying
SO... Can you get clear bulbs?
I'm sure you can, but the laws at least in the US mandate that you must have yellow bulbs for your side running lights, even though you're allowed to have clear covers. I'm not sure about elsewhere in the world.
Auto Amateur Thank you sir.
That didn’t take long at all, but it’s certainly necessary!! What’s next?
Center console lid with the Porsche crest for starters...! 🥳
Auto Amateur that’s right, you did mention that in the last video. Good stuff!! Now get out of the garage and spend some time with the family😉
Color match headlight washer caps.
You’ve got such a great eye for detail Sean!! Done, added to the list. 🤩
Add Suncoast Porsche to your suppy chain if you haven't.
Welcome to Agate Grey and 20” Carrera rims.
Thanks!! 🤩🙌
That was fast.!!!
🤣
Haha. 🥳🥳🥳
