First laughed at one of these a friend bought 30 years ago. 90 dollars or such. Fast forward 30 years later, now a proud parent of 2 of them. Best one gun for any and all purposes
Damn, SKS be looking like a better first-series build than standard AK once I get my manufacturing license. And a whole hell of a lot better compatibility with my trigger group designs.
Not sure what you mean. Yes, it is a tilting bolt... and you can see very clearly how the rear part of the bolt drops in place, locking the breach; and how it's lifted up by the action, unlocking it, and allowing the bolt to cycle back. It's shown especially clearly in the second half of the video. Did you want a closeup of all that hot locking action... or what? - I just don't think you can say that it's not shown at all. Sorry if I'm missing something here.
No. The magazine plate pushes up a hold open device when the last round is ejected. f you have no ammunition, the bolt stays back. You could load the magazine and the carrier will stay back until the breech block carrier is pulled back at which time the hold open device moves down allowing the carrier to move forward, stripping a round from the magazine and loading the rifle
I have an SKS. If the conical shaped firing pin and bolt hole are not kept clean, lubed and free, the firing pin would be stuck which would result in a full-auto “slam-fire” of the entire 10 round magazine!
mido bibo I’m assuming you’ve cleaned the whole gun. Sometimes the recoil spring is installed backwards. The straight portion should be in the rear of the gun. The “curled” portion should be in contact with the bolt carrier.
@@SkyWalker209 thank you so much. I will try it now. But some professionals said not enough gas pressure so i need to clean the gas pipe and put a ring to block the gas going outside the gun. I will try it too. Many thanks
Wow, that's awesome! Two things I don't understand, though: 1) How does the bolt know to stay back when the "last" round is fired? How does the gun there aren't a bunch more rounds to fire and to zip ahead and take care of them? And 2) My gun is opaque and made of wood and steel, whereas this one is see-through and green. Where can I find such a model? It looks awesome!
Yes, I was joking. I have since taken delivery of my SKS and now understand its inner workings better, but thank you for getting back to me! I've disassembled and reassembled it a couple of times. I actually uploaded an unboxing / range video the other day on my channel. Neat firearm!
Fantastic animation, I've always loved these internal working views of mechanical things.

now they’re going for like $450-$1000
Hey thanks for doing this. I wasn't too sure how the trigger and firing pin worked. Now I know!

I just want a Binary trigger for it.
@@charlesgunzelman3323 two shots in one trigger pull, one on the pull and one on the release. A classic in modified triggers, if I do say so myself.
Awesome animation, would have been cool to see more 3D and rotate the camera, thanks for sharing
Nice work!
I have a sino-soviet model but mine came with a 30 round detachable magazine when i bought it.
Pretty cool
We already released new program called World of Guns with lots of new features!!!
This is completely wrong. Everyone knows the SKS ejects steel case at supersonic speeds
Who shoots brass ammo out of an SKS?
@@rudder727lol true I fixed it
as the parent of an SKS, i know how true this. ive found casings that got launched around 10 feet XD
The best very good gun
This is an app you all can get actually. Just type in gun disassembly in your App Store. Also available for pc
What app are u using
Now we know. Thanks.
That's a great animation! Should have used red for it tho :)
It slam fired! Haha, I paused it accidentally right before the hammer hit the firing pin and I could see the round had already left the case.
lol nice catch
Great video, but you don't show the bolt locking into the breach just before firing. It is a tilting bolt design-JW

Do you have a Windows 10 version. It's very impressive ad welll done
Is it possible to lock the bolt open when the magazine still has ammo in it and if it does, how?
No. The magazine plate pushes up a hold open device when the last round is ejected. f you have no ammunition, the bolt stays back. I tohugh the SKS bolt tilts upward.
Как програма называется такая?
Could show off the drop bolt lock system
It's there. I had to tune one with mismatched Bolt.
The bolt isn't tilting.
Awesome. I might get an SKS.
Me too.

Can't go wrong with an sks. Great shooting gun.
@@john-vy1ml Just got mine from Classic Firearms for $299. It's a beauty!
Hmm , That's wired my sks eject's the spent brass up not to the side .

what exactly causes the spent casing to be ejected?
There is a small metall piece in the left of the receiver.
The case get drawn back by the extractor, collides with the piece an snaps to the right.
I have no full return in my sks. Trying to fix it but no luck yet
mido bibo is it a Yugoslavian?
