Very good to know you still have 50mi when the last bar is hit!glad you like your new seat! (ads)wow that’s a lot for a seat so it better last a long time! Glad it’s a winner and feels good! (ads)👍🏻👍🏻😁❤️😁
I thought about Corbin but Sargent had a memorial week sale. For 500.83 I am having one delivered to my door in Canada. I can easily sell my OEM for 200 off setting my cost
Honestly I just want a heated version of the stock seat. Being able to slide back and forth during the ride really helps with long range comfort. Kawasaki nailed it with the stock seat, but I'm gonna ride during the winter.
I certainly agree a heated seat is great! I know Corbin offers that, but I didn’t opt for that on the KLR-sold it for my new Ducati. The KLR is too tall for me.
Dude! I’m so envious of your life and demographic. What a ride. Takes me back to the three cross country trips to Big Sur and all around from Atlanta. Your living large! Don’t think I’ve seen the KLR from a distance like you showed at Corbin. That’s a very nice looking machine my friend. Be safe 😎
Hahaha--I know, it was a bit nuts to spend that much on a new seat, but I have never regretted the money I spent on motorcycles...well, maybe that performance cam I put in my H-D Heritage and then sold it a year later for my GW...😌
Beautiful looking seat! I had Corbin seat on our FJR, it was the smooth style. Not to sound weird but it cradled my butt perfectly, the only issue I had, it was too hard for me. I rode an entire season wanting to love it but it just didn't work for me. They do make nice seats though. I think the style you have are a little softer. What a gorgeous view from the bridge! Thanks for sharing
I have heard that about Corbin, and mine cradles my butt perfectly too! Hahahaha! Bixby bridge is amazing as is Big Sur. I wanted to ride further south, but I needed gas. Doh! 😬
Oh yes...have to get an appt, so they can make the seat pan before you arrive. They book out like 3-4 weeks once the season gets going, so yes definitely call and make an appointment. The whole thing takes a few hours, depends on what else they have going on, but they do focus on you when you come in.
That seat looks fantastic, even if it's not the full-on green. LOL. I will never forget my ride down the coast. What the heck was that thing in Monterey? Great Video Thanks.
I got the green stitching on mine too. Looks good on the KLR650 and I agree it does hold you in better than the OEM seat. I have leather on the top and vinyl on the sides with heaters in drivers and pillion part of the seat and I think delivered mine was around $845. So far I can't tell a difference in comfort from the Corbin seat to the OEM seat. I felt the OEM was comfortable. I wanted the heated seat and lowered which gave me 1 1/2 to 2 inches which helps with a 30 inch inseam. I think I only have 600 miles on the Corbin seat so I still have some break-in to do on it. You didn't say how long of a wait you had to get your seat while at the Corbin factory. Thanks for sharing JP1970
I too have the leather on top and the vinyl sides...looks so good! The whole thing took maybe 5 hours. There were 4 of us who rode in and they had a guy in there with a lot of questions...slowed things down a bit, I think. It is great for my 29-30" inseam...just holds me in tight! The OEM was okay in terms of comfort, but it was too tall for me.Thanks so much for watching!
One upgrade that would interest me is a good automatic chain oiler. I researched them a bit, but they seemed to require an expensive special oil, plus they need to be connected to other things to know when your motorcycle is rolling.
@@JP1970 supposedly, a chain will last 30,000 miles with these auto lubricating devices. Supposedly, one of the mfrs is the same that BMW uses for its chain bikes.
Nice Vid JP. Boy I would have a tough time deciding which style of seat. I like your idea because you can still use your stock seat for off roading and your new seat for highway travel or get the Rally style where I can slide back on the seat which I occasionally do to get more out of the wind. Both look pretty comfy although truthfully the OE seat is pretty comfy. Just recently did 500 miles of combo off roading/street in Death Valley and never had sitting issues with the stock seat. Did you ride from Nevada to Hollister? Thx
Yeah, I hear you, but the stock seat was too tall for my 30" inseam, and the dual low works way better for me. I think it is more comfortable too. Time will tell with the new seat, but so far, so good. I trailered my bike to Merced and rode from there...not nearly as ambitious as you in Death Valley. I rode a total of about 300 miles in a day...that's my personal best so far on the KLR. I am not sure about a 500 mile ride...rather have my Gold Wing for that! 😀
Well, this is a little bit of a tricky question, but I would say saddle ride height is about 30-31”. It has a slight backrest but when seated it puts me about 30.5” and feet easily touch the ground. I have a 29” inseam and generally wear a riding shoe.
@@JP1970 ok that helps just got a 2023 KLR Adventure and had them put the S model seat on, I’m 5’8” and still just touching with my toes. I find the S seat really hard foam or something but not digging it so far really like that Corbin seat you got and was hoping it wouldn’t put me any higher off the ground.
That’s interesting…I thought it was lower. The ez reach seat is definitely shorter, but I have to tell you. I sold the bike…I never could get comfortable. Thanks buddy!
Man, $700? No way I could afford that for a seat. That's nearly 10% of the cost of the whole motorcycle. It would be nice to be able to buy foam and materials to make your own seat if necessary. Maybe you can, but maybe it's not necessary with the new KLRs. I've had flat wide seats with 70s/80s BMWs, and they were always super comfortable.
I know, it was some purchase...probably not necessary, but I love it. I found the stock seat was just too tall at 34" so the lower is better and its comfortable so far. I may trim down the stock seat for a back up. Thanks for watching and commenting.

I tried talking him into the seat in full-on green. 😆 but the seat looks great anyways.
