- Finally! Three music in a row this week which 2 of it are considered quite difficult to play. Finally made it!
I don't know what to say to describe the feeling when I firstly heard and watch this animation from the quest. Just shocked and touched. I'm glad Zhongli came to save Xiao which is the only one left out of 5.
I firstly thought about to make two piano versions but at the end gave up because it will be more complicated to arrange even tho it can be easier to play for each part. The whole music is a combination of the theme of Yaksha and Xiao. There are several time I was struggling about keeping the voices from ostinato or some counter melody from woodwind and I'm glad it somehow worked out. I mainly arranged the part up to the end of Xiao's Theme. Jasper was arranging the other one (Old Memories Remain) that time.

Then he finished the rest of the piece with the pattern idea and I only need to optimize it and make it more suitable for myself to play it. I just love the chime bell part so much, it gave me goosebumps doesn't matter how many time I have been looping during arranging.
For video editing, I first time using that many CG for fullscreen instead of playing because I thought it may be too boring for those slow part considering there are 4 minutes for this animation. So I decided to use full screen for those slow simple part. I have added the original dubbing for the part Xiao asking approve from Zhongli which I do think is very important as well!!
Anyway, Hope you will all like this arrangement and this is one of the best out of our all arrangements for solo piano.

My heart wasn't ready. It never is with this cutscene. Everytime it gets to the part where Xiao teleports everyone, I bawl like nobody's business. ;o; Xiaaaao I love him so much

No matter how much I rewatch it, that scene where he teleports everyone and Paimon calls out his name, I just have to tear up. The music is also super emotional in that part

Same it's so sad even though he was saved, because he was prepared to sacrifice himself. I could not stop crying for Xiao the whole time after seeing that :(

2:23 I thought that this part was Rage Beneath the Mountains (Azhdaha's Battle Theme), turns out it was from Tale of the Yakshas. Thanks for pointing it out, @floppy fish and @Seiro Hoàng.

3:06 Doombane (arranged in such a mellow, tragic way btw ;-;)
3:45 Beginning of Through the Eyes of a Dragon (Azhdaha's Theme, Zhongli's Story Quest Act II. Very fitting, as Xiao was saved by Rex Lapis, the same as he did to Azhdaha. And we all know that Through the Eyes of a Dragon is basically Rex Incognito in orchestral arrangement.)
Truly a great cutscene. One of the best story quests so far. Props to mhy for upping themselves everytime.

Also, the beginning used the theme of Legend of Guardian yakshas cutscene there.

This piece as a whole is just so amazing
Xiao's theme playing in some parts of the cutscene got a hard reaction out of me, especially at 3:10. I'm a sucker for scenes that play the focus character's theme and this piece (both the OG and your cover) did it amazingly well. Tbh this entire quest made me like and appreciate Xiao a lot more, playstyle and character wise...too bad I'm broke on primos after getting Yelan and her weapon .-.

2:23 is where the Yaksha theme music starts playing back from the Story Teaser: Guardian Adepti cutscene. That is so so goodddd
This cutscene made me tear up when I played the quest, and I keep tearing up whenever I rewatch it in other places. And now, hearing your piano version just hits me in a different way 😭😭 IT'S SO BEAUTIFUL AND EMOTIONAL AAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
The first thing I lost my mind over in this cutscene was the variation of Xiao's theme, it was so seamlessly and perfectly added to highlight the danger of the scene! This arrangement honestly gave me goosebumps, I'm floored, keep up the amazing work!

I was NOT ready for the cutscene. Xiao was my favorite character becayse I could relate to his problems on a decent level. He was my comfort character and I was able to put two/platform breaking and two/Xiao teleporting us out together and I was crying. I was saying that Hoyoverse wouldn't kill a playable character before I remembered the redhead, himeko I believe? who was dead. I was definitely an emotional wreck that time.
Because of this cutscene, my love for Genshin Impact only grew. I am a person who is very invested in the lore on most books and games but Genshin just does it for me. They are so attentive in small details and I love how they connect a small story from an artifact to a weapon's and the characters. I adore the music and how beautiful everyone is and I will forever treasure this game. Due to my reasons, I was never one who cared about others opinions. So if people say it's not good to pull Xiao at this time, I still will. I missed his banners due to a few accidents I was in and I do not intend this time to be a waste. I wish everyone pulling on any character luck!~

The part where yanfeis pyro abilities fused with yelans hydro threads is what real elemental reactions should look like

Amazing music and performance. This cutscene in particular shaved years off my life. I was about ready to quit Genshin and even tho it ended well I took a few weeks off. it was phenomenal, but please Mihoyo, don't scare me like that again.

3:10 the 3 chords are actually quite similar to the melody in frozen’s do u wanna build a snowman where the parents’ ship got overwhelmed by a giant wave which made me even more sad for some reason lol
Realised this while doing laundry and humming😂 (idk why but sometimes my brain subconsciously finds songs that corresponds to different emotions and then I just casually sing them and I don’t even realise how they are connected until I remember the context of the song)
Edit: I just realised again these 3 chords I mentioned are actually from xiao’s theme, in a different key🥺
