When I saw Quan win her first gold at the Olympics, I thought she would dominate the sport. I did not expect Chen Yuxi to come back so strongly to win over her twice in a row now.
Has anyone else noticed that when you compare the camera coverage for the womens 10m platform final and the mens 10m platform final -- there's one stark difference? When the women set up their handstand dives, there was a camera pointed straight on them as they bent over and set themselves up -- which, to me, felt quite invasive. They have many angles to choose from, yet they chose the most intimate one. However, for the men performing handstand dives.. guess what? Not a single time did they use that shot. If they used a head-on angle, they framed it tightly in on their faces. I'd really like to understand why the same courtesy wasn't given to the female competitors.
The people in charge of the event were completely ignoring the score of the event at the end. Both of the top 2 were up by more than 100 after the 4th dive. They said Yuxi took the lead after her 5th dive, which was patently false. She was STILL in 1st place after everyone else finished. The girl from the US should have been standing at the Bronze spot and those other 2 should not have been on the podium at all.
no.. you got it wrong idea.. Yuxi took the lead in 4th round and it shows, those girls standing there because that's the rule, there must be top 3 standing there until the end, so if Yuxi and Hongchan got higher score, then they replaced them, and yep the bronze goes to the Nike from the US.
@@jinu8209 It's not wrong though. Those girls had lower scores after their 5 dives than both of the other 2 after their 4. Even scores of 0 would have still seen the finishes of the same placement. Those were entirely ceremonial and actually incorrect.
I cannot believe that FINA had the guts to award such tournament to the apparent first-class Berlin, due to the separate platforms allowed for synchronized diving

Everybody focuses on Quan but Chen is amazing. Quan is more gifted, Chen is more professional

I don't get that either: for me divers are at their sexiest by far when they are actually in free fall.
Couldn't agree more. There are loads of clips where perving over sportswomen is the main aim - pole vault, long jump, high jump and diving...
Quan hongchan can choose high dificulty for increase their score. But she not, she choose same dificulty like chen yuxi😊 very nice
