BEWARE v012 Car Chase

- Long cross-country car chase showcasing the newly added driving A.I. which allows to switch between two driving styles - either the standard "fast" mode or a "slower" mode where the A.I. will steer in a way to de-stabilize the car and thus slide more around corners. Since v011, BEWARE uses new @VehiclePhysics which allow a proper simulation of wet tarmac and brings many improvements, among others, FFB Steering Wheel support.
During the chase, I had to role-play a couple of times when the AI cars got stuck in the scenery - nevertheless this should give you a good picture of its current capabilities.

Skoda 120 LS - 900kg (player car) - RR layout
VAZ 2106 - 1250kg with passengers - FR layout
Dacia 1300 - 1250kg with passengers - FF layout

This is still in active development,and it IS AMAZING,I can't wait enough for the full release,I imagine it will like a super realistic horror driving game,where cars behave like the real cars on those exact conditions.

I have a minor nitpick, though.
I don’t know if this is a controversial take, but I kinda want the old warmer colored fog back. I though it gave the game a more unique atmosphere. However, I’m not saying I hate the new look. I cannot deny that the glow of orange lights over the dark, grey sky is a striking visual!

i think that he may have done this simply for this update, almost as a sort of debug, though i'm not 100% sure. i agree that the warmer fog makes it feel much more unsettling
Thank you for your hard work! BEWARE's aesthetics and design are one of my favorites; I find it original and unlike anything I've seen before to this day.
All we need now is a storymode and some epic chase music

I completely forgot how much ive wanted this game before i saw this. This along with tears of the kingdom are probably my most anticipated games!

It's always nice to see such an interesting concept get turned into a reality. The atmosphere, the sense of paranoia when you got away but still feel like the pursuers are still looking for you.

Incredible display of the game and driving. Some of those recoveries were insane! I'm not too picky about how vehicles control in games, but last I played Beware I really loved the feeling of teetering on the verge of control --- trying to squeeze out every mile per hour to gain an inch or two of distance from your pursuers.
I spent so many hours driving around the 2019 demo just for the atmosphere alone. Can't wait to see whats next for this project!
Can the goons from the first dam actually chase you all across the map?

Technically, yes - although once the full story is fleshed out, it might make more sense for other enemy vehicles to take the relay.

No no, the old music will come back - this is purely for testing the driving A.I. and nothing else :)

I can't wait to see more of this game. It's so cathartic, mysterious and unique it is even hard to describe how terrific it is.

I've watched this game about 5 years ago and loved it. I never got to play it due to me not owning a pc, but now I got one and I already played through the v001 demo. I'm patiently waiting for the full release on steam if possible. Keep up the work and suprise us with something amazing
So awesome seeing this project evolve! Putting some more work towards the sounddesign, including the car sounds would make a huge difference.
Also something like windy noises when youre driving fast would be a nice addition!

Well it's getting there - the full 144km² map is done, as well as the foundation for all car chase A.I. - both the most time consuming tasks.
huh, Beware just sparked back in my mind, I just wanted to see if the game was like I remember from 5 years ago. turns out it's still in development, and it looks greater and more intense than before

Ondrej this is actually a pretty good game, i finished the demo and there are more things to come, i just hope you are fine and if you need to take a rest, take a rest. Beware is a good game but i just hope you are feeling alright because it is actually very detailed meaning that you put up very hard work on v012. I hope your game goes on IGN and a lot of youtubers play it, including twitch streamers and it gets put up on steam, anyways very good art my friend
I'm liking those car lights. Like it's a just car, but lights making it more creepy and epic at the same time
Am I the only one who thinks the visuals of that left side mirror are a bit strange? The housing of the side mirror looks like it is folded in yet the actual mirror surface is reflecting things like the mirror is folded out.

I was late, but this is very cool! You added the ai, which really brings more hype to escape with these goons. When are you going to fully release the game, with the ai and the 144km map? It's also very frightening that the goons chase you LITRALLY forever!
I don't understand why the car frame seems to float around on a flat road with a stable scenery view.
Everything else looks fantastic, but this detail looks really weird.

And one more - Warm light for headlights looks more realistic, especially for Retro cars like this! This bright Moon-White lights looks like modern cars xenon optics! Headlights color in previous versions was awesome! 🔥🔥
I'm just testing some ideas for the light colors. I thought all enemy cars (and locations) could have cold white headlights which would be in contrast to the warmer colored headlights of friendly vehicles.
To some extent it reflects my feelings of warmth when I see an old sodium vapor lamp in contrast to the cold white LED streetlamps that replace them everywhere now.
Maybe two distinct light temperatures for friendly & enemy is a bit too cheesy. We'll see.
@@SoulChallenger Thats a good idea since then you can be more wary of what car to not get too close too.
Also, what is the mechanism to shake them off ones tail? Just grow enought distance between them?
@@Florreking Either that or, once I re-enable the damage system, make them smash into a tree/obstacle
@@SoulChallenger I think both would be interesting, it's presenting you a choice of "Do you run or fight for your life?" You can try to escape your chasers without any damage for a long time or instead try to run them off the road into an obstacle to end the chase quickly but at the same time slightly damage your car.

@@SoulChallenger I'd personally say keeping the lights more realistic to the car type makes more sense as enemy cars would already speak volumes for themselves in terms of behaviour (also having added chase music of course). I can see the issue then being that people would bolt at the sight of any type of headlights, however this would make it scarier and more real since it would add an element of suspense and uncertainty to any vehicle encounter, which earlier versions of this game absolutely excelled at already.

Rallying is meant to be driving like you’re being chased, and this nails it.
Glad this is still in production. Believe or not, this game inspired me to buy myself a rear engined car :D although much more modern one. Which was also assembled in my country!

This is such an unique game, and the atmosphere is amazing, I am curious how there is gonna be a story if any story at all. And very curious to see what kind of elements we can expect aside from the car chase. The vibes this game is giving me are very unique and it's relaxing while extremely scary at the same time.
Oooh, the huge greenhouses with growlights in them definitely shows that an environmental catastrophe of some kind happened. It would have to be incredibly severe for the clouds to block the sunlight like that so perhaps it was a massive asteroid impact?

Great game I remember seeing this game 4 years ago and I like how it is now I wonder if it will be a free release or it will be on steam.
And also I don’t know if it’s just me but I thought the steering wheel in earlier versions of the game would move it was it removed because I liked that detail

You should’ve released the game on steam and kept it as early access until the game reach full potential , by not putting it on steam you are losing ( already lost ) many fans it’s a great game it would be sad to see you release it and nobody knows about it

Can you elaborate what do you mean by "new @VehiclePhysics"? Does it still use CarX physics engine?
It now uses "Vehicle Physics Pro" instead of CarX

I’m in fucking love with this game. fantastic game and work. however I have to beat the demo first.
Will you be adding new chase music? or the same
Is there a difference between V11 and V13 other than the AI changes? I would really like to drive around with no AI and feel the physics, because in V13 they keep locking on even when I spawn in and the old versions ability to sneak past the dam is gone it seems. If they get too far they also teleport ontop of me so I can't explore very far when they go the wrong way.
Is there a updated demo? I know i have to support on patreon for the latest version, but there is a more updated free demo?
