I dont like how much of you keep the comnents on how Hutchence turns your libido up, but not acknowledge and celebrate the rest of INXS for always displaying perfect musician work and wonderful live renditions of songs. INXS early guitar work is remarkable. 🥰🎸👏🏻
This show " Rocking the Royals " aswell as their " Live baby Live " in Wembley 91 is their best shows, to me anyway ...No one could ever question INXS musical capabilities, their unique sound mostly because of the sax, incredible lyrics and dynamic performances. Their stunning frontman Michael Hutchence, his attraction, dazzling stage presence, gorgeous voice and SO good looking....he was a One of a Kind guy, talented, gifted and just SO loved and SO incredibly missed.....
I'm an old fart who has lived through much of the evolution of rock music & perhaps could call himself 'a musician', so I'll pipe in here: Having a lone sax in a small/medium sized band was certainly not new. It harkens back to the early jazz/early busking eras (pre & post electric gtrs & ampliification) & certainly was present in just about every rock'n'roll band in the 1950s. In the 60s & 70s, bluez rock & jazz rock peaked in popularity, as well as more complex arrangements with horns, strings, etc from progressive & mainstream rock/pop artists. However, the late 70s & early/mid 80s did see a return to more of a 1950s/early 60s mindset, with one lone sax (especially in New Wave/New Romantic/80s Alternative/Electro Pop). Nevertheless, there were many exceptions, e.g. 70s-style Disco/R&B/Funk, bands based on 60s Soul/R&B like "The Style Council", some bigger Ska bands, and some cross-over jazz artists like the wonderful "Shuffle Demons". Also, more dense horn arrangements in other bands were covered by synth parts ("brass" was/is one of the most common categories for synth presents). Having said all that...what INXS definitely did do is a great job of blending many different eras & genres of music & evolving with the times to some degree without sacrificing their roots. Just as important, Andrew Ferris, Michael Hutchence and the rest of the boys wrote some excellent & catchy lyrics to complement & showcase Michaels superb voice & intense sexual charisma. On top of that, like the rest of the band, Michael was also a good student of musical history...much of his stage presence & moves were influenced by great lead singers of the past & present...most notably Mick Jagger & Jim Morrison. Last, but not least, INXS was a very well-practiced & tight band, and both times that I saw INXS - first with MH & again with JD - I was impressed with their true professionalism (which should never to be taken for granted with rock bands...lol).
@@derekbaker3279 Sorry Derek, said this a 1000 times, Michael was Michael, he did not replicate no one. I do not think Jagger and Morrison influenced Michael what so ever. He had his own individual style. He was the type of man, that couldn't help himself jig about on stage. I just wished people would stop saying he was like Jagger and Morrison. He was Michael, the iconic singer and frontman of INXS.
@@derekbaker3279 very nice to read your comment... I completely agree with most of your thoughts. I am born in 57 so I have lived besides most of them. Since I was eight years old I have loved music, the source of new bands, artists, was given by radio Luxemburg if you remember.... People like Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, Chuck Berry, Led Zeppelin, Cream, Spencer Davies group, Rolling Stones and so on, created the music we grew up with... and I still love all of them!
@@jaynekittycat9252 Hi Jayne. 😀 Michael was unique & great, and there's nothing wrong with recognizing that the sum total of what made Michael amazing did include influences that he absorbed while watching & listening to other inspiring artists. All great artists are very observant & like a sponge when learning from/experiencing the talent of others, and I am sure that Michael was no different. This does NOT mean that Michael just mindlessly 'copied' Morrison, Jagger, etc...not at all... rather, he expressed all of his influences in a unique combination & in his own special way. Whenever he sang/performed live, Michael reflected his influences as an expression of his emotions. That's legit art, rather than 'just' being an "entertainer". 👍😎👍 BTW, I am also a fan of jazz & blues, and one of the highest compliments a jazz or blues musician can pay to other artists is to 'quote' his/her influences during his/her music...especially solos. (this also adds to the enjoyment of listening to jazz & blues, especially live, as it's fun to listen for those 'quotes' which reference other music you've heard. ). Some pop/rock artists pay tribute to their influences in that way, or by writing tribute songs (e.g. Jimmy Page's "Hats Off to Roy Harper". Ian Anderson of Jethro Tull fame also referenced Roy Harper in his music.) Bottom line: No artist creates in a vaccuum...they are part of a community & a product of both divine inspiration & the past/present culture within which they live...and all artists all appreciate that. 👍😎👍
I can't stop watching him.. omg he's an angel . That face... That voice.. he was the best ❤️ frontman ever... I want his babies.. 🔥🔥🔥 miss him.... ♥️💙💔

@@underscore2824 Look, I love INXS, but he's no where near Morrison in either writing or influence. It's simply retarded to compare him to Morrison who remains, even after 50 years, an Icon. Saw the band in 1987 at the Charlotte Coliseum and this was the one song I was looking forward to seeing live the most. But they didn't perform it. I left the concert feeling cheated. I never felt the same way about the band after that. The One Thing was their break in America and got us to buying the albums. I still regret going to that show. Ziggy Marley was the opening act and he sucked.
christschool same thing happened when I saw Van Morrison a few years ago. Couldn't believe he didn't play Brown Eyed Girl and still can't believe he didn't. We all walked away like wtf????
Your comment makes me weep, for whatever reason I MUST have been brain dead, I NEVER got to see them at all! YOU are ONE of the luckiest people on the planet IMO. Whenever I hear them I have the purest joy and underneath the most heartfelt bitter regret at myself for not going to see them. When I tell you that I would make a deal with the Devil to see them from the front row at Wembley I'm not kidding.
Good gracious..there will never be another Michael Hutchense ...he just oozed sexuality and was both talented and handsome
Never another..the absolute BEST front man that ever lived! I so love and miss him! :(

Jason Unsell Uh, no. Not even close to Morrison.
+christschool Uh yes, better than.
Both r amazing, Michael is a better singer in my opinion, both cool as fuck and great I just prefer Michaels voice

This and Don't Change are my favorites by them. A lot of their stuff in the mid to late 80's sounded alike and that's when I lost interest.
Losing interest of this Great Frontman, i could never lose interest in INXS.
My 2 favorite bands of all time.
Dave should start with "New Sensation" what a cover that would be!
MInd blowing.....
thank god for MTV
1985!!!!!!no bills.
Why is this my drunk go to? Lol Love it. That's why.
Best comment 😂❤
He’s a cross between Mick Jagger and Jim Morrison

the Doors only decent songs were the radio hits. INXS catalogue of music far exceeds that of the Doors.
