Was using a similar setup with whelps and quill (your previous config I think) and struggling. Swap out with chickens and witch doctor and smashed through. Amazing what 2 minis can do.
Deathball at sneed is amazing!

First one was tough. Execute destroys abom like butter

It can be a problem early on, but as you get more Shamans to the push, they can heal the Abomination right up. Also, the Witch Doctor shield negates Execute, if the timing happens to be right.
