Context: Xdinary Heroes are a group of talented young guys that got sick of the ordinary world, so in order to express their revelry and angsty, they got info about this metaverse/virtual reality place called "b.form" ("flatform" maybe) where they have different extraordinary stage personas. "Happy Death Day" may sound like a song about some tragedy but is more about being reborn and going against coventional society.
Not only that, but the b being a flat is shown thru their whole ass song. They went FULL music nerd, AND punk, AND villain visuals, my heart has never been happier.
I totally agree.. day 6 we’re awesome in London so I will be definitely be taking my girls to see these guys!! I did feel a little sad for Jae to be honest but they are all so talented day 6 will never die 🎵❣️☃️💥🙌🏻
Jyp artists are talented. Their songs always have had deep meaning relating to real life. Nowadays Jyp increasingly points out its quality as the next globalized kpop music industry. Xdinary heroes have made me fall in love since their debut. Excited for their next music. Hope they become a great band in the future.
Honestly. I love it so much. I used to be like a metalhead and rock music stan before getting into Stray Kids in January and it really took me back to that... scratched to part of my brain that only really awaken, chronosaurus and 3rd eye can get to... I cannot wait to see what else they do!!!!! I'm really so excited for them :3 and according to an article I read they're also self-produced!! So that's exciting! Thank you for reacting to this.. I really hoped you would ...
Yesss I agree. I was an emo/ pop punk kid before kpop and this debut was like the perfect middle that scratches the brain in the right place. I love it
@@lleucihill8508 I'm so glad I'm not the only one!!!! Especially with Jungsu kinda in the beginning with the whole "I'm a birthday clown tonight" it gives me Chris Motionless America vibes 🤔 and I'm 100% here for it!! I seriously can't wait to see what they do in the future!
Same here! I used to be into alternative rock before getting into Stray Kids, so it's always interesting to see how many stays used to be into rock music. So glad I stumbled onto Xdinary Heroes because of RUclips recommendations.
they caught my attention with their promotional videos and did not disappoint. I think the song is very beautiful. it's a pretty unique debut. I like their style a lot. I think they will be able to surprise me in the future. jyp fam is getting more and more interesting. In this journey that I started with skz, I became jyp stan over time. There are also LOUD babies on the way, they will debut in 2022. I'm too excited for them. jyp's girl groups were already known, but boygroups are on the rise. I'm pretty hopeful about all of them. skz world domination, that is already known. but we need to support family too. let's go guys!!!
For them, maybe their birthday is horrible because it means they are one year older, one year closer to not being young and marketable anymore. Seems like one of the main requirements to be a star kpop band is to be young. Getting closer and closer to not being young anymore must really suck for them. I don’t see a lot of K-pop bands in their 40s
That’s not how I saw it. I just saw it as it was (more literal, less symbolic): a birthday meaning someone is a year closer to death. It’s essentially an alternative pessimistic viewpoint on what is generally perceived to be the happy celebration of someone’s existence. Kind of like a “You’re celebrating me being a year closer to dying because you want me gone and don’t actually care for me” type of deal.
Of course you don't see it, how can a 40 yo have the same stamina as a 20 yo? Kpop group schedules are stressful af. Dancing for hours, traveling, doing concerts where you have to practice the songs AND choreos over and over, plus variety shows and content filming, also on your day off you need to keep your diet and practice. Also being young and marketable is not a bad thing, since the idol industry earns money mostly from students and young girls/boys in Korea, so of course you wouldn't debut a 40 yo in the idol industry, that would be gross assuming your target audience are teenagers. Kpop is Korean Popular Music so everything from rock to jazz is Kpop, and I know a lot of senior artists who are over 30 and they can be considered part of Kpop even though they don't dance since they're not idols. The song doesn't have this negative and "dark side of kpop" meaning. As a person said in a comment above, it's about rebirth and going against the conventional society. Please look at groups like Shinhwa, Sechskies and TVXQ, they're not young anymore but they still have fans even though they work on their own now so no, it doesn't suck to get old, they just want to settle down since in Korea it's common to marry and have kids at this age, and you can't spend time with your family while being an idol, it's impossible. Do some research on Korea and Kpop from people who actually live in there and know their shit.
@@marianacarina2580 I agree with what she said about kbands though, not like in western where bands like ac/DC are still making music lmao, I guess rock music are just not Koreans cup of tea
@@marianacarina2580 I can tell you feel really passionate about K-pop stars. I don’t think it’s a bad thing to be marketable. There’s no denying that some people actually don’t like to get older. I know other 15-20 who really don’t want to get old and then marry and have kids. They’d rather do their current activities forever. I already knew everything that entertainers who dance and sing must do for their audience but it seems that you know a lot more details about their lives from studying them closely. Thank you for sharing your information. I still stand by my original post about another meaning that that song could have, for those out there, even some K-pop stars, who don’t want to grow old. Some people look forward to growing older and some don’t. Also, I agree that if a band used 40 year olds to a target audience of teens that would be gross. But I haven’t done any research about older bands that target audience of older people. I wonder what the older people listen to since they don’t listen to K-pop. Then again, I’m not the same kind of fan as many here. I don’t have a single poster or care what they look like at all. I can’t even remember their names. I just enjoy finding new songs for my Spotify list. I think maybe a lot of fans here are way more dedicated than me and probably have posters and stare at the performers in the videos. I find the idea of some person the K-pop fan would never be attracted to ogling him pretty gross, same as some ugly dude, that female stars would never want to date, staring at her appearance is creepy and gross. But I guess that’s just how it is since nearly 100% of these K-pop fans who admire that star’s appearance are people who those K-pop bands would never be attracted to. The whole idea of posters is actually kinda gross.
@@TheRealSyrett FTIsland and CNBLUE are older kbands that are still around. CNBLUE recently released their song Love Cut. There’re also a lot of indie krock bands that are older, but they aren’t part of the idol industry. Also, kpop (AKA the idol industry) in general hasn’t been around for very long, so there aren’t many idol bands who are 40+. It began in the 1990s. You are right that older idols don’t attract as many fans as they would have when they were younger because of that marketability, though. It’s just that some idols stick around because they genuinely like performing and making music with their band/group.
This group is so unique and brings a uniqueness to the music industry we needed. I love this song so much as the beat is catchy and also I love the sounds of the guitars and drums and the vocals are also on point
Haha I love seeing people's reactions to this song and yours is by far the best one yet 😄 jungsu has the best vocals I've heard in a while (he's the one who makes that funky sound near the start) and yeah that's his real voice, no edits or autotune. Same with the high notes from other members, all their real voices. I'm expecting alot from this group I think they'll be amazing
Im really looking forward to these guys. It'll be interesting to see how popular they become as a band if they stick to a heavier sound like this. Good luck to them!
