Nice drone shots! Being a 2 seater, yes more prone to wheel stands but I did like the finished dashboard and interior over some of the competition. Interesting ride.
I actually knew the guy who owned this. He ran with our camp quite a lot that trip.
So why did he waste so much money on something that just pops wheelies because the engine and weight is so far back ...I honestly bet I could beat him on a CR250 in a drag race cuz he'd have to let off every 2 secs

egggggzackery! Everytime I see a Go"pro" I cringe at the audio quality especially when sound is a big part of the experience.. Then again it's convenient, small, and lightweight. Not to mention costs 10x less than a decent dSLR rig with a proper lens, and all that. Though I'm holding onto the hope that one day I'll run across a GoPro video that uses an external mic for haha ;)
Slovflyer I've got a Sony Action Cam, its inside a waterproof hard case and its audio pickup is amazing, check out some of my vids to see how you think, but its got a problem of fogging up because it starts to get hot while recording which is a massive downside once you have been riding your motorbike for an hour and 20 mins into the vid the lens has fogged up. but audio is the best.

Why are the brake discs so small? It looks like they got them of a MTB bike
friction is not the same on sand and would not require the same amount of surface tension on the pads. they would just lock up the tires and hydroplane.

Cool it hauls ass in a perfect straight line. You can wheelie every weekend on a quad for a fraction of the price. Yes I'm jealous.
It doesn't even haul ass in a straight line cuz it has to let off every time the wheels come up I'm pretty sure my CR250 is faster in a drag race

That's a hell of a lot of spectators for a few dune buggies. They will always build one faster than yours.
They will try, mine has a nuclear reactor powering a 7 million horsepower RC motor, Thing is stupid fast!
Put a Hyabusa motor in a razr or similar. I bet that thing would thrash. Probably already been done but I haven't seen it.

u want racing for the working man? look into a local dirt oval track. They normally have stock car events, many are older american cars that they put a seat and roll cage in and that is it. Or they have classes slightly more that. There is a dirt oval class from 2-5k race cars all the way up to World of Outlaws with 60k just in the engine...
4theloveofDub well if you figure the cost of circle track prize money you got to figure the pay back at the end of the night you probably wont make much because of the cost of tires, fuel, repairs, and so on.
honestly i use to race go karts going 75mph into a turn wide open cheap and decent payback depending on where you are. i live in florida and there are select tracks that give payouts at the end of the night but its pretty fun.

Another poster talking out of his ass. The driver has won the Baja 1000 twice along with a bunch more offroad races in the most prestigious offroad racing series' in the U.S. There are few drivers better than this guy so who did you have in mind to replace him cause the list of better drivers is gonna be very short!! I suggest you know who you're bad mouthing before you open yours and stick your foot in it!!

only? 70k in to a hobby... You can get a pretty nice and fast street legal car straight off the showroom floor for that price. And you can actually drive it to work.

Actually I think it would be a fair amount to sustain a wheelie, at least in terms of lateral acceleration. Not so much in a RR layout though, as the engine weight is now on top of the rotational axis, as opposed to a FR layout where the weight is out in front. Like moving the fulcrum of a lever in order to increase or decrease it's mechanical advantage.
About the same as you accelerating on your Camry lol the engine is so far back you could probably have a couple people sit on the back and the front wheels would lidt

Dan H 4x4 = more parasitic drag on the motor, heavier, more parts that can fail, less top end on the long run vs 2x4. Pros and cons on both platforms.

By all means the truck destroyed the Sandrail long before he could make any speed, By the time the Sandrail could pick-up that race would be long over.. Main reason Sandrails are popular is because building a 4x4 Truck with the same power is STUPID EXPENSIVE not pros and cons I don't know 1 person who would choose a Sandrail before a 4x4 with the same power... ALSO I don't believe that Truck was 4x4 at all tbh its just better built for the purpose, This Sandrail LOOKS powerful but at 1300hp it looks kinda slow to me probably a gearing issue.
Yeah I am thinking in terms of street racing where longer distance and faster speeds are involved. But you may be right on the HP ratings people like to over exaggerate hp ratings on the internet so its hard to really tell the truth.
I take sandrails making wheelies with a grain of salt... For me it means not that the engine is way powerful (though it is), but that the rear end is too heavy. And the front end is too light.
I'm sure it's possible to built a wheelie-able buggy with a 50 hp motor.
I like sandrails with power train placed within the wheelbase, so that the engine is in front of the rear axle, rather than buggies with raer engine layout. 'Cause the last ones cheat.

Generally in Baja racing, there are no turns, only very slight curves. These trucks are far too heavy and have too soft suspension to corner easily.

It has mountain bike brakes!?
They're more like "petal" brake disk that are used on a lot of modern motorcycles. And you don't need a ton of braking in the sand. It'll lock up quick on you.
@@BrandonBKD nope they are breaks that are used for cars in drag racing to reduce weight and brake resistance due to the fact that you only need to stop once in a drag race and they're not likely to heat up much ...they look very similar to motorcycle breaks tho
