  • Finally found a dry bag that can take beating. I was impressed by the quality of the bag, it should work just fine. I do apologize about not making this vid sooner so you could take advantage of the deal from cheaperthandirt, but I didnt know they would take it off their site, and you know me, I have test everything out before I make a video.

The 9 liter bag is awesome. The 65 liter one is even better because of the air purge valve. I have both and they fit perfectly in the USMC ILBE packs (as by design). Great great great products! Enjoy your videos. Thanks Brian

My purge valve failed after about a year and a half. I can purge it but it refills within an hour. So, I burp the bag and cover the valve with duct tape: instant fix! Their Baja line of bags are a little thicker with a sturdier bottom and no valve to fail. I've since stuck with those and haven't had a problem yet. There's also a biner clip loop on the clasp so it can be clipped into a kayak or to the outside of a pack. Overall the MCS was a good purchase.

They look great. Just ordered a Sealline Black Canyon 40L but will try to pick up a few of these military ones too, the compression valve is a great feature and if they supply to the US military that says a lot right there. Thanks brother.

I used to run a Pelican Case top box and SealLine bags on my KLR650. I used the SealLine bags for extra clothing when I went camping or to a rally. Rain, mud, wind or even dropping the bike during a water crossing and the SealLine always kept the contents nice and dry. My current BOB is a SealLine 70 liter Boundry pack. SealLine is good stuff.

great find. I have the same china mart bags but I use them to color coordinate gear in my vehicle and not so much for waterproofness.

@Meaglin7 some canal testing, and 5gal bucket testing, I will tell that you more than 10 pounds to submerge it. My results were mixed, no failure at the pressure valve, but there times when the top roll allows a little water through. not soaked but the tshirt had a few quarter sized wet spots. this was with agitation for over 15 minutes.

Has anyone figured out how to stop the purge valve from allowing air back in? I have 4 MACS sacks, and each one of them does this. Is there a trick, or repair to correct this?

Picked two for these SeaLines up fro $6.99 each at a surplus store...couldn't friggin' believe it. These things rule for the cost, I've already used mine to extremely satisfactory results. Seems the release valve is more about getting rid of air prior to stuffing in a larger pack vs. just expelling air and keeping it out...they do re-inflate after a day or so, but I'm not sure how that translates to submersion in water over time. Otherwise, best $13.98 +tax I've spent in a while!

I don't know bro... I've had to many hit and misses with Cheaper Than Dirt's website. I go there... see something cheap, get all excited, check the shipping costs and realize it'd be cheaper to just go to the store and get it. =(
    I'll keep checking though.
    Thanks for sharing.

you should check out the watershed drybags (drybags.com). A little pricey but well worth it. I carry electronics in it while I am whitewater kayaking and have done the submerge test with my iphone in it for 30 min with no leaks.
