I’ve had to make my husband put a 30 minute window on my phone for any social media as I had to quickly watch this video and type this out 😅 it really does suck up precious time that can be spent with kids and tasks that are helpful to the household.
It is so nice to see a functioning family. The food looks and sounds great. Two thumbs up. You two remind me of who I wish I was. Raising and nurturing young human beings is the most important part of our lives. The pay back is is multi fold.
Thank you so much for the encouragement!! And so glad you've been loving the shampoo bars. As for conditioner, I've been doing an apple cider rinse lately that's been really helpful as my hair is getting long. I just put a few tablespoons of apple cider vinegar in a squirt bottle and fill the rest with water and after using the shampoo bar, I rinse with the apple cider vinegar water. It's been working really well! The dish soap bar video should be up by the end of the week!
@@paulsims6888 gah! Yes. YT was being funny with comments yesterday and mixed up where a few went. This was intended for a different comment but we do appreciate the encouragement!
The time at home with children is so precious, and goes by quickly....and we are now on the other side of things; with our kids now having families of their own. We home schooled until my husband left his job in business to be a teacher. I always say I ferociously protected our kids' free play time. We decided that free play time and family meals were sacred, so that prevented our kids from participating in organized sports, many teams practicing every day! We found church leagues that had short seasons, with one practice and a game a week. We were also HUGE readers, and it is interesting that my sons' read chapter books every night to their children! I was criticized a lot for not having our sons involved in more activities, but as adults, they thank me for guarding their childhoods. When they were older, they did take music lessons. I always packed snacks and drinks to avoid stopping for unhealthy alternatives. Now, our grandchildren are homeschooled and live very similar lives to yours!! Thank you for opening your home to us, and sharing your lifestyle, as well as delicious recipes! (Please excuse my long comment!)
@@FromScratchFarmstead I just had to share what valuable choices you and your husband are making. It requires a lot of hard work, but you will reap the rewards. I’m also praying for you as you grieve the unexpected loss of your mother. I lost my father when I was 30 and just had our second child. Just too soon… 🙏
I always love your videos. Watching your family happily working and playing through the day with so much love is a treat! You have truly found what's important and made it the center of your lives. ❤️❤️❤️
Congratulations with 100K subscribers 🎉❤ Great job, and you are such an inspiration! Having a family mission statement was a great idea, since it’s easy to wander of in “whatever life is giving” in that moment. Taking a step back and reevaluate is a wise advice. Thanks again! Always look forward to your videos. Beautiful family and life, what a blessing. You are a great cook! My mouth watering just watching your recipes. I've tried a couple and they are really good!! Had trouble with the pork chops, I'm not sure how long to cook them and what temp, mine were dry unfortunately but I'll try again. That marinade was very good from your last video. 😊
Aw! Thanks so much! I do pork chops similar to steak - high heat and cooking them as quickly as possible (but making sure they are done) and have had good results creating juicy pork chops that way! Thanks for watching! :)
Loved the whole video, but my favourite part was definitely your youngest son squishing his baby sister's cheeks during your family reading time at the end. Made me chuckle because I would do the same! So adorable. Thanks for sharing your lives with us!
Just came across your channel. You folks do a great job...thoroughly enjoy your videos. I wish I was 30 years younger so I could do what you are doing. I am an avid gardener...containers only but we get a lot of veggies. Keep up the great work. Mike and Debbie Branson. Mo.
This was really great, and interesting, though I was also hoping there would be something about the social media setup I speculate you have, like the cameras around the house and then editing the videos, not to mention the social media itself, meaning posting to ig, youtube, writing out the newsletter, writing for the blog.
Hi! This is a great question and a good idea for a future video maybe. So we usually film on Mondays and try to get all the filming done for the week that one day if possible. Jim does all the editing so he goes to a coffee shop to get work done most week day mornings. Then we’ll work some afternoons during quiet times or after bed times as we need to for blog posts and social media posts. Hope this helps clarify! 😊
@@FromScratchFarmstead It absolutely helps to clarify, thanks so very much! It's quite interesting how different people who produce videos manage this sort of thing. It's pretty exciting if you end up doing the video which will include this video setup and social media stuff. Thanks again!

Great video! We are in a similar situation with lots of flexibility and full days, but I have found not having external things like school or work setting our family rhythm to be challenging. I feel like I can homeschool or do garden projects or errands, but struggle to do both and end up cancelling homeschool more than I want to. Where we live in Japan it is very hot so the morning is the best time to garden. It also rains a lot so we need to "make hay while the sun shines". This schedule that is always changing due to weather makes it hard to plan. This is our first year so I am trying to figure out how to balance it all. Any advice for pivoting your schedule around weather?
I’m so right there with you!! Our schedule is dictated greatly by the seasons and weather. This was a big part of why we decided to take a break in June from our normal homeschool routine. In seasons like winter and spring before planting, homeschool becomes the priority. In summer and fall when it’s planting/harvest, we still try to keep our regular rhythms but we also forego the regular plan many days because something else is more immediate. I’m trying to give myself grace for that and realize a lot of learning still happens on those days where we may not do anything formal and knowing there will be other seasons where the priorities will be different. It’s hard because it’s outside of what the traditional system looks like and I can struggle with that. Know that I hear you and am right there with you. I hope this is helpful! 😊❤️
