@Robban.D.Jonsson. I know. On every show and video I've seen about Rolling, there is this REALLY creepy song in the background. What it must have been like to BE Rolling. No empathy. No conscience. No hope for anything in his life. At the scene of some of his robberies, he would say stuff like " Sorry yall, I know, it sucks". But he wasn't sorry for anything.

    • @anthony5335
      @anthony5335 9 месяцев назад +1

@devious187, self awareness & awareness in general are pretty damn painful, arguably more a curse than a "gift"
Ever hear of the (Ancient Greek) story of Cassandra?
As i recall, some vengeful goddess got pissed at Cassandra (probly b/c some God was attracted to Cassandra which enraged her) & cursed her.
      The curse?
To have the "gift" of foresight, prophecy. Specifically, the ability to forsee terrible fates that had not yet come to pass, disasters on the horizon.
The real "bite" of the curse?
Perhaps she could forsee pending doom, but be incapable of warning the doomed to help them save themselves?
No, it was worse than that.
Cassandra had total freedom to warn the doomed of their impending doom.
The real curse of the curse was that they'd never take seriously her warnings & whatever doom was foreseen came to pass.
Terminator 2 kind of ripped off this story, w/Sarah Connor knowing nuclear war was about to break out & even warning a few select ppl of the impending doom only to have her warnings rejected by the ppl she tried to save. For her efforts, they deemed her insane (ole Johnny Boy Connor called her "a total loser"). They did their part to put & keep her in an asylum for the insane.
So called "humanity," hominids have a long storied tradition of openly persecuting & destroying geniuses &/or truth tellers.
Leonardo DaVinci famously wrote some of his most important works in "mirror script" for fear of being branded a "heretic" & burned at the stake (or worse).
Anyway, as for this song & what you wrote; maybe Rolling could only be a great singer-songwriter b/c of his fucked fate rather than despite it?
Idk. We live in a time where suffering & what might be termed "freakery" is literally worshipped & portrayed very favorably. But, there might sometimes be some real truth that misfortune or terrible "fate" may come w/silver lining's

    Jingling spurs rolling into town.
Old black stallion bearing a grim reaper.
Dressed in snake hide, worn black leather
    Chorus:
    Mystery rider what’s your name?
    You're a killer, a drifter gone insane
    Mystery rider what’s your game?
You're a rebel no one else can tame.
    Welcome stranger
    to the Silver Dollar bar
    what's your pleasure
asked the tender with a big cigar
    You give me a whiskey
cause I'm feeling a little risky
if that tin star's in town
well you tell him I'm around
    Chorus
Out on the windy lonely lonely street
Slinging forty fours well they finally finally meet
There stands lightning the two men well to draw
The outlaw he was the last thing he ever saw

If you are interested in Danny's artwork, you may know it, but I wanted to say it just in case you didn't know it. His drawings are interesting to see. Yeah I completely agree. Only if he got a little support from his close ones I think he would be a famous local singer. He didn't have a lot of support. According to police report his relationship with his father was not the best and he used Music, Drugs and Alcohol to deal with abuse. He also shot his father but his father survived. Clinical Psychologist concluded that his childhood abuse played a key role in this character development.

his voice is haunting even if you don’t know what he did. but knowing the horrors he caused and the juxtaposition of that and his soothing voice.. that just amplifies the chills by a thousand. it’s proof of how complex human beings are - the same person can be capable of creating both beauty and total destruction.
like others have said, it’s too damn bad that he chose to do the disgusting things he did. because of him, eight innocent people got their lives ripped away from them. and no artistic talent can make up for the senseless violence he inflicted.

You can like dudes music without liking what he did as far as his killings go. Lotz of very very talented people do some hugely gross shit and there can be that separation. Charles Manson is a great example. Very intelligent and very talented with music and I would argue his Philosophy was sound in some parts. But he had a side of him that wasn't good, he did alot of good. He was really behind climate change and spent alot of time talking about our climate and what we are doing to nature just by living modern lives and I think lots can be learned by listening to that side of him.

I wish we could get a real cover for this song. People seem afraid to simply enjoy it as art, for fear that it somehow supports this criminal madman. But art should never be censored, even when it’s made by a killer. Most music is made by despicable people, but we seem to be okay with them because they’re the despicable people we grew up with. It is possible to separate art from the artist. This is a good song and it doesn’t deserve to be lost to time just because it’s creator is a deplorable person.

Yet I can't but feel that if he hadn't done THOSE things, his songs wouldn't strike me this much. Truly he can't be tamed, he proved himself. well, rappers usually talk about gang violence, which is bad, but this person is a bit different. He didn't shoot rival gang members, he killed 8 people and raped several of the victims, brutally mutilating their bodies. Both are killing, but I think that's a bit worse than gang violence, also, I predict a large percentage of rappers are just talking shit and haven't actually killed anyone, whilst this man was proven guilty. The song is catchy, that's why I am here, but I don't think being a good singer makes it right by any means. if you are interested more about the topic here is an interesting documentary. ruclips.net/video/q2HX52GzMVg/видео.html

    You're a rebel
    No one can tame.
Out on the windy, lonely lonely street.
    Slingin' 44's,
    well, we finally, finally meet.
Fast as lightning, the two men, well, they draw.
The outlaw he was the last thing he ever saw.
Fucking brilliant song if I ever heard one.
Serial killer or not, this guy had the chops.

Its actually legit. I'll give credit where and whenever it's rightfully due, regardless of who its going to. It's haunting and possessed a very Terry Reid esq, "to be treated right", melancholy inflection and tone to it. I wouldn't be surprised one bit, if he was influenced by Terry Reid. It's just got his own special touch with a little southern spin on it. I like it. Should have pursued this instead of becoming the poster boy for 90s horror flicks and ending up in a prison paupers grave.

I got it from the channel "Horror Stash" on youtube. They've got many more songs as well. I have no idea where they got them from, but these are from the trial evidence. Pretty sweet stuff.
      Glad you enjoyed!

Richard Ramirez said it best. Serial killers do on a small scale of what governments do on a large scale. I'm not condoning the actions this man did. He was very disturbed. I think they should let these people live to study them more. The human mind is interesting. Instead we kill them. If you think of it the prison system is no better then them
