Great job Matt, and a great story. Another possibility is your family member might have been brewing a Kolsch, or Kolsch adjacent beer. Ale yeast might have been easier to get and no need for long lagering. Cheers! That looks great!

Nice job. You can remove sulfur with some copper. Old Moonshiners trick.

Thanks! Maybe possible, its kind of unknown really at this point and while I'm curious, I think it might of just been beer, and that's okay.
