Wakayama is one of Japan’s great secrets, I lived close to that area for 6 years and in July/August I’ll go back to enjoy it once again. One day I plan to part retire there, so learning more about Wakayama inspires me ! Arigato.
And because of you doing that I will come and visit here now I know what’s really going on and how things are done and handled now!! Appreciate very much Miki!! And that film doesn’t exist to me anymore now either after seeing this!! 🤝🤝🤝
I really, really appreciated both you showing us, then naming the food featured , as well as showing the map to the station. I'm using your videos as my tutor. And what I learn is giving me the confidence to travel off-grid throughout Japan. So - and again - thanks.
Thanks super much for part 3 can’t wait for part 4!! I remember this was fun for sure learning about Taiji more from you too and it’s not always like that movie The Cove they did!! You explained it more better!! 🫶🫶🫶
Very interesting!! I understand the importance of the culture, but am glad it is not more popular in Japan. Lots of endangered species out there in the oceans. Overfishing is going to become a real problem in another few hundred years if we don't stop eating so much
@@miki_japan well I don't think the whales need us to regulate their populations, they were fine for millions of years until we started doing that in the 1800s, but I'm glad the fishery is regulated. Lot of destruction in past centuries.
Lovely town and interesting subject, thank you. It looks like Maui in Hawaii, Magnum P.I! I agree it is important to be open minded and understand the history behind eating whale, when it was for the town's survival. Humans can be ignorant and not question their own beliefs of what is right before questioning others Why is it ok to kill rats and mice in traps for no reason, but not ok to kill one other particular animal to eat respectfully?... Do you ever hope to travel to England?

The dolphin kissing you was so cute. It's been fun re watching these videos again 😊
I enjoyed visiting Taiji in 2023. I want to go back again some day. I hope other people will enjoy visiting too.
Simple wonderful vlog . Thank you, best regards from Germany .

Very good vid, Miki. I agree with you that the traditional culture of the people in this part of Japan should be respected.

They can never take too many whales!!
This is to avoid destroying the ecosystem!
Conversely, too many whales would upset the balance of the ecosystem.
