Pretty impossible to tell if someones pupils are pinned when they have brown eyes. People with light eyes have a much harder time hiding drug abuse when it comes to their pupils.

My neighbor just passed due to a heroin od in my living room floor playing with the kids, he was a good guy and we had no idea he was in heroin he had a really raspy voice, smoked like 10 cigs in a row, and he would always help us doing yard work and building our shed etc. I wish I knew before but he was in rehab and he came home for thanksgiving and his problem got worse and we didn’t know.
Been an addict for 10 years, my parents are both former drug users (until I was about 3). And neither of have ever noticed. But I never stole, any cash they ever gave me was always accounted for by receipts, always had a full time job and was in school full time with a 3.4 GPA. and I never did enough to nod out oh and I always snorted it never shot it. But I'm slowly getting clean now. Been on methadone a year, went from 3 grams a day (about $250 to $300) down to only doing it once or twice a week at most and doing between $10 and $30 each time and thay will last me all day. I didn't start at 3 grams a day over night so it's impossible to expect someone to totally stop overnight even with help, but I'm proud of my progress and I'm almost there! And my parents other family members and friends still have no idea.

I kicked him out, and he's been living in the back of a truck with a sleeper all winter. He has electric hooked up to it, and the truck is on his boss's property, so he has access to a shower, fridge, microwave, and washer/dryer. He's going to a suboxon clinic now, or however you spell that. I'm having major surgery in about a month, that will result in me not being able to ever have kids.
i agree with everything. sometimes it can be hard to spot. like you said, there is a perception of what a heroin addict looks like and a lot of the time its the opposite.

It's so true....My baby boy became addicted to heroin. People don't want to realize that it's the boy or girl next door. In my baby boy's case, he's an anointed excellent drummer/musician that plays for the church, he was raised in the church since he was in my womb, he's one who when you come in contact with him you feel good about yourself because he makes you feel like a human being...My son makes people smile and laugh because of his personality, ALWAYS the most popular and all of the girls wanted him because he is soooo handsome UNTIL he got caught up in this horrific addiction. He has paid dearly when he chose this addiction. He lost ALL trust from me and his dad (which killed him the most, he always prided himself for being honest & truthful), he lost trust from his sisters too, he lost good friends from this demon of addiction, he lost a good job, he lost his license for 5 yrs and he LOST the LOVE of his life, a girl he was going to marry who he loved so much. He paid dearly by allowing heroin to be his god and not Jesus. He now is SLOWLY trying to piece his life back together. This Heartbreaking devil of an addiction known as heroin is a life stealer but Jesus can set you free and God ALSO uses rehab to set people free from it as well. I mean Free is Free. To all who are addicted to this drug, you are NOT garbage, or worthless, you are someone who is the very OPPOSITE, you are PRICELESS, A DIAMOND in the rough and you are WORTHY to be the God given PRECIOUS SOUL that God has called you to be. personally my skin would turn like a grayish color, or so people would tell me and Id break out alot more. Always rubbing my nose/itching. Agitated, smoke hella cigs, raspy voice. But it was ALWAYS the withdrawal that would give me away. That was 100x harder for me to hide.
my brother died Sept 1st. we didn't even know he was using heroine. we did know he abused percocets to which we pushed him to go to rehab. apparently he met someone there who he began using with. we're still in disbelief...
I am real tired of being accusing nor blame ,whenever my dearest does that on me . I really want try my best to help him which ever way ,just to be sure that he could feel I really do love n care about his health but I always fails . A good example about the pin point pupils is if the user has colored eyes like green & blue, since the pupils are so tiny their eyes will appear extremely blue, green, etc…
after 4 years of use, i ended up moving away and kept clean for 2.5 years thinking id never do it again. something triggered in my brain one day and i did it again. man i got so high i ended up puking for like 12 hours straight. now im just having a hard time dealing with the thoughts of getting high. it really is a matter of choice in the end. i suggest if you quit for sometime to never even do it again. i dont think the thoughts will ever go away. just dont use
3:11 the Irritability is one many people don't talk about enough. Opiates always made me really cranky, and odd enough made me want to be alone when I was high. I felt like people were disrupting my high when I was around them and I didn't necessarily like talking to people despite feeling really good and happy. Opiates are much harder to spot than alcohol, or benzos, or coke, adderall, meth, etc. Especially if the person has a high tolerance and needs dope or pills to function, sadly nowadays its all fentanyl people are doing mixed with God knows what, glad I got out of the game before fent started taking over. Nowadays I just take kratom, kava and smoke bud.

My dad is always delirious , and he has had a major weight loss over a couple months and he hasn't been to the gym in like 5 years , Also he randomly falls asleep standing up often swaying back and forth , and when ever I confronted him while he was in this state he always says he is tired from work and I don't know to belive him , I'm 15 and scared and don't know what to think please help..
Nobody can save a heroin addiction but themselves. If they themselves aren't ready to admit oor a knowledge the problem, there's no amount of effort anyone can put into helping them that will work. I hope things worked out with his dad

Same difference. Just one is made in a clean environment and you know what dose you are getting and the other is hit and miss. All opiates. One comes from a street corner and the the other is legal from a doctor. I snorted pills for 2 years then lost my job and realized how incredibly easier to get and cheaper heroin was. I said I would never cross that line but you start getting dope sick and you will do practically anything in your power to not feel that way. No matter the cost. That was the start of my 3 year downhill spiral that literally took everything in my life from me. I had nothing left and was knocking on death's door by the time I finally told myself I was done for good. I never looked back and 9 months later I'm still trying to get back some of the things it took from me that I held so dear.

You guys are describing someone who is actually high at the time. Addicts are not high 24/7. I got strung out on Heroin while in Thailand during the Vietnam conflict. Then we called is "Chasing the Dragon". I functioned just as well as all the rest of the GIs over there and I did not have dark circles under my eyes or any of the other telltale signs you describe. What you are describing could be symptomatological of a lot of different highs while in the midst of that high.

It's hard to decipher. Same symptoms. But I have noticed once an addict graduates on to heroin nothing else seems to matter anymore. You will slowly see them lose control of their life and make choices without any rational thinking. Their addiction will turn into an evil that will consume their lives more so than the pills ever did. It's a whole new ball game once heroin takes over and you won't even know the person who they have become anymore.

Well it's not the opioids. It's our society. We're collectively ill. Our society produces people who resort to self medication because they feel "good" or "normal" for the first time in their life. Everything makes sense all of a sudden. It takes a long time of struggle and work to build up the mental and physical fortitude to make it in this world although you have a neurochemical disadvantage to "normal" people. The opioids, alcohol, benzos, weed, tobacco, stimulants, sex, video games, cellphone, extreme sports, obsessive collecting etc. etc. are just the symptoms of the same illness. People choose different ways to self-medicate, but it's all for the same exact reason.
I have a buddy going through this addiction and yeah the symptoms are very true. In his head he thinks hes okay and acting fine. Its a very weird drug and a terrible one ive tried it a few times but seeing how this effects people i do not want to go near it.

the weaker your mind is the harder it is to tell when you have a problem. i used morphine and oxy for 9 years and i was able to tell i was fucked up. im pretty clear about that disease it almost killed me. sober now 6 years and feeling and looking much better and i do see it in the mirror. much easier to see when im slipping now. opiates make you apathetic to the point you don't even care about your own demise as its happening. get help you're not going to make it alone if you can't stop.
I need help.... I suspect my mom does heroin but I’m not sure... she says she’s doesn’t smoke cigs but I’ve caught her and founds packs of them. But she has been smoking all her life... She always seems normal and no signs that she does.. I found what I think is a heroin needle with a black tip on top but it smelled like weed. Her voice is never raspy there is no noticeable holes her her arm there is no backs under her eyes or anything! Sometimes her eyes are red and her pupils are small but I thinks that’s cause she smokes weed before she goes to bed. BUT YEAH PLEASE HELP ME CAUSE IM REALLY SCARED!!! I have used a long high gauge needle on a syringe to fill my oil pens. That is probably what the syringe is from. Especially if it smelled like weed. Black tar heroin smells like vinegar. Or vinegar mixed with burnt sugar if it's cut. Heroin would be used with a small half inch needle usually. Probably find a spoon along with it with residue on it. Small brown cotton balls used as filters to draw the heroin into the needle. She would be sleeping a lot or passed out sitting up (nodded out) when she is high and when she doesn't have it feeling like she literally has the symptoms of the flu. Along with intense irritability and restlessness. With what little you described it doesn't sound like heroin. Opiate addiction and withdrawal is no joke and very hard to miss. Hope this helps.
Everybody says to themselves "I will NEVER do this. What generally happens is they start on pharmaceutical opiates like Norco, Vicoden, at a party of for an injury then when tolerance builds they "move up" to Oxycodone/oxycontin which is extremely expensive and after a short time lasts such a short time that the cost becomes prohibitive. Heroin last significantly longer and is less than half as much to get a dose that lasts twice as long. The reasoning allegedly goes something like this..."I know it's bad but I'll only snort it." ...until their tolerance builds again. Then they start reasoning that since they are already doing Heroin and that a snorting habit is twice as expensive as a shooting habit and that they are sick and probably broke that an injected dose which will last longer and feels even better why not try it "just to see if it feels as good as they (their dealers) are telling me it does...just this once. Nobody says "I want to grow up to be a junkie" or "I want to marry a guy that will beat me for looking at another man" It takes time and each successive step seems reasonable at the . What they need is treatment and understanding NOT judgmental pontificating about how weak or immoral they are (not that bfflmadbarbie is doing that, but that line of reasoning CAN very quickly lead to it)...Just Sayin..

At low doses yeah, at high doses or when mixed with gabaergics (which is dangerous) then NO not common at all. But I get what you mean, lower doses of downers can actually induce energy (look at other Opiates like oxy, look at the difference between 2 beers and 12)
Dirty black fingermarks on doors, drawers, the loo, anything light of white the may of been touch. Balls or folder up bits of foil around. Erratic sleeping hours. Bouts of productivity followed by periods of depression and laying in bed. The eyes are the best one though. Long shirts in hot weather if someone is banging it up.

personally my skin would turn like a grayish color, or so people would tell me and Id break out alot more. Always rubbing my nose/itching. Agitated, smoke hella cigs, raspy voice. But it was ALWAYS the withdrawal that would give me away. That was 100x harder for me to hide.
my brother died Sept 1st. we didn't even know he was using heroine. we did know he abused percocets to which we pushed him to go to rehab. apparently he met someone there who he began using with. we're still in disbelief...
I am real tired of being accusing nor blame ,whenever my dearest does that on me . I really want try my best to help him which ever way ,just to be sure that he could feel I really do love n care about his health but I always fails . We quite often quarrel n makes the relationship which we had for years .

after 4 years of use, i ended up moving away and kept clean for 2.5 years thinking id never do it again. something triggered in my brain one day and i did it again. man i got so high i ended up puking for like 12 hours straight. now im just having a hard time dealing with the thoughts of getting high. it really is a matter of choice in the end. i suggest if you quit for sometime to never even do it again. i dont think the thoughts will ever go away. just dont use

3:11 the Irritability is one many people don't talk about enough. Opiates always made me really cranky, and odd enough made me want to be alone when I was high. I felt like people were disrupting my high when I was around them and I didn't necessarily like talking to people despite feeling really good and happy. Opiates are much harder to spot than alcohol, or benzos, or coke, adderall, meth, etc. Especially if the person has a high tolerance and needs dope or pills to function, sadly nowadays its all fentanyl people are doing mixed with God knows what, glad I got out of the game before fent started taking over. Nowadays I just take kratom, kava and smoke bud.

Same difference. Just one is made in a clean environment and you know what dose you are getting and the other is hit and miss. All opiates. One comes from a street corner and the the other is legal from a doctor. I snorted pills for 2 years then lost my job and realized how incredibly easier to get and cheaper heroin was. I said I would never cross that line but you start getting dope sick and you will do practically anything in your power to not feel that way. No matter the cost. That was the start of my 3 year downhill spiral that literally took everything in my life from me. I had nothing left and was knocking on death's door by the time I finally told myself I was done for good. I never looked back and 9 months later I'm still trying to get back some of the things it took from me that I held so dear.

You guys are describing someone who is actually high at the time. Addicts are not high 24/7. I got strung out on Heroin while in Thailand during the Vietnam conflict. Then we called is "Chasing the Dragon". I functioned just as well as all the rest of the GIs over there and I did not have dark circles under my eyes or any of the other telltale signs you describe. What you are describing could be symptomatological of a lot of different highs while in the midst of that high.

It's hard to decipher. Same symptoms. But I have noticed once an addict graduates on to heroin nothing else seems to matter anymore. You will slowly see them lose control of their life and make choices without any rational thinking. Their addiction will turn into an evil that will consume their lives more so than the pills ever did. It's a whole new ball game once heroin takes over and you won't even know the person who they have become anymore.

Well it's not the opioids. It's our society. We're collectively ill. Our society produces people who resort to self medication because they feel "good" or "normal" for the first time in their life. Everything makes sense all of a sudden. It takes a long time of struggle and work to build up the mental and physical fortitude to make it in this world although you have a neurochemical disadvantage to "normal" people.
The opioids, alcohol, benzos, weed, tobacco, stimulants, sex, video games, cellphone, extreme sports, obsessive collecting etc. etc. are just the symptoms of the same illness. People choose different ways to self-medicate, but it's all for the same exact reason.
A little heroin never hurt.

I have a buddy going through this addiction and yeah the symptoms are very true. In his head he thinks hes okay and acting fine. Its a very weird drug and a terrible one ive tried it a few times but seeing how this effects people i do not want to go near it.

the weaker your mind is the harder it is to tell when you have a problem. i used morphine and oxy for 9 years and i was able to tell i was fucked up. im pretty clear about that disease it almost killed me. sober now 6 years and feeling and looking much better and i do see it in the mirror. much easier to see when im slipping now. opiates make you apathetic to the point you don't even care about your own demise as its happening. get help you're not going to make it alone if you can't stop.

I need help.... I suspect my mom does heroin but I’m not sure... she says she’s doesn’t smoke cigs but I’ve caught her and founds packs of them. But she has been smoking all her life... She always seems normal and no signs that she does.. I found what I think is a heroin needle with a black tip on top but it smelled like weed. Her voice is never raspy there is no noticeable holes her her arm there is no backs under her eyes or anything! Sometimes her eyes are red and her pupils are small but I thinks that’s cause she smokes weed before she goes to bed. BUT YEAH PLEASE HELP ME CAUSE IM REALLY SCARED!!! I have used a long high gauge needle on a syringe to fill my oil pens. That is probably what the syringe is from. Especially if it smelled like weed. Black tar heroin smells like vinegar. Or vinegar mixed with burnt sugar if it's cut. Heroin would be used with a small half inch needle usually. Probably find a spoon along with it with residue on it. Small brown cotton balls used as filters to draw the heroin into the needle. She would be sleeping a lot or passed out sitting up (nodded out) when she is high and when she doesn't have it feeling like she literally has the symptoms of the flu. Along with intense irritability and restlessness. With what little you described it doesn't sound like heroin. Opiate addiction and withdrawal is no joke and very hard to miss. Hope this helps.

Everybody says to themselves "I will NEVER do this. What generally happens is they start on pharmaceutical opiates like Norco, Vicoden, at a party of for an injury then when tolerance builds they "move up" to Oxycodone/oxycontin which is extremely expensive and after a short time lasts such a short time that the cost becomes prohibitive. Heroin last significantly longer and is less than half as much to get a dose that lasts twice as long. The reasoning allegedly goes something like this..."I know it's bad but I'll only snort it." ...until their tolerance builds again. Then they start reasoning that since they are already doing Heroin and that a snorting habit is twice as expensive as a shooting habit and that they are sick and probably broke that an injected dose which will last longer and feels even better why not try it "just to see if it feels as good as they (their dealers) are telling me it does...just this once.
Nobody says "I want to grow up to be a junkie" or "I want to marry a guy that will beat me for looking at another man" It takes time and each successive step seems reasonable at the . What they need is treatment and understanding NOT judgmental pontificating about how weak or immoral they are (not that bfflmadbarbie is doing that, but that line of reasoning CAN very quickly lead to it)...Just Sayin..

At low doses yeah, at high doses or when mixed with gabaergics (which is dangerous) then NO not common at all. But I get what you mean, lower doses of downers can actually induce energy (look at other Opiates like oxy, look at the difference between 2 beers and 12)
Dirty black fingermarks on doors, drawers, the loo, anything light of white the may of been touch. Balls or folder up bits of foil around. Erratic sleeping hours. Bouts of productivity followed by periods of depression and laying in bed. The eyes are the best one though. Long shirts in hot weather if someone is banging it up.
