    i think the coolest part is the idea of a single chamber reactor, use the lithium burst to heat water into steam, it powers, then it condenses at the top and drops back down, providing power in both directions.

    I dont know this game really but in real life, there's a period for all materials where they no longer get hotter but instead use that energy to change states.
    That's why the orange part of the initial lithium build is the same temperature - it used the previous energy input to raise its temperature until it hit the melting point, then converted all the solids into liquids, then it was free to heat up again and rapidly got very, very hot (in this case 600+ degrees C).
    In real life the process isn't as perfect as it shows here because the source of the heat usually isn't applying the energy equally.
    I believe that's why you see water start to boil on the bottom of a pan before the entire pot reaches a rolling boil - the water on the bottom reaches the boiling point before the entire volume of water has reached it. The rest of the water is stealing heat from the hottest volume, but the hottest volume (near the heat source) is absorbing heat faster than the rest of the water can steal it, so that small part begins to change state before the entire pot has reached boiling point.
    I imagine if you heated the water very slowly (i.e. a smaller temperature difference from the bottom of the pot to the top) you would see this effect less, and it might even stop entirely.

    • @reidmock2165
      @reidmock2165 7 месяцев назад +4

      In addition to what you said, water also tends to boil from the bottom because it's a good nucleation site. This is why putting pure water in the microwave is so dangerous; unlike a stovetop which heats the container, which than transfers heat to the water, a microwave excites the water molecules directly. Without a nucleation site nearby, this liquid water can reach temperatures far in excess of its boiling point. When you take it out of the microwave and break the surface tension, the cup of water can explode because you've allowed for sudden nucleation! Meanwhile, coffee, tap water, etc. has stuff dissolved in it which can allow for nucleation, so its safer to microwave than pure water.

    In order for it to be more effective you need to add small rods as long as it's a rod it will work and it will work better the larger rods you make and you can also use a mesh to charge it to I mean with the picnic works rilly well with a mesh if you look up lithium battery on the powder toy and turn off decorations you might find some that have a mesh charging style
