well ill add my unrelevant opinion on that distance detection thingy 1. why dont you just check for distance between two vectors 2. why don't just use trigger collider and use OnCollisionEnter2D and OnCollisionExit2D (because making a script 100+ strings long just for detection will burn your cpu to the crisp)
@Upset_Games also if you ever get the issue that your player randomly flips over the floor change your boxcollider to a circle collider as then the player wont randomly flip over
