every genre has own characteristics, pros and cons.
cause all music genres (pop, funk, disco, rock/metal, house, techno, dubstep, soul, hip hop, R&B, industrial) are created naturally within years.
for example, rock was created within years as fusion of various genres (blues, country, folk, rhythm and blues, boogie-woogie, gospel)
meanwhile dubstep was also created within years beingoriginal, but influenced by dub, hip hop,breakbeat

In Stephen Davis's book 'Jim Morrison: Life Death Legend' I read that Jim was a fan of Canned Heat. He was even sometimes mistaken for their lead singer, Bob Hite, after he put on weight and grew a beard!
