yessss!
Pls i beg you to watch the post credit scene from the movie version where you can see oikawa and his teams reaction to their loss its such a heartbreaking scene
Aaah rewatching it is so fun! Can't believe 8 months ago someone asked you to react to 86 in these comments (i was one of them in replies too :3 ) and now we are getting them. Thanks for reactions
It's so much sadder to think that everyone believed that THIS team, THIS Seijoh team in particular, is the best out of every Seijoh team that graced the court because Oikawa is just that good at being both a setter and a captain. Excited to see your S3 reactions soon!!
Had Oikawa accepted Shiratori's invite they would have won the Nationals at least once at this point imo...
- Oikawa's name is Tooru (written by 1 japaneese letter), meaning "persistent/tenacious/hardworking" which descibes him completly. So when he says "worthless pride" with Ushijima, you can hear the same word as his first name (persistant pride, that makes him Oikawa - jealous for "talented" people, since he's not a genius, just a hard-worker from day one).
- By the way, in Haikyuu everyone has 2 or more letters in their first names. Except, two: Oikawa Tooru (persistant) and his childhood friend Iwaizumi Hajime (his first name means "finishing/bringing it on", which make sense, he's ace of Seijo). It's so symbolic, since Oikawa was born in Alexander Makedonski's birthday/July, 20th - beggining of life/, and Iwaizumi was born in his death-date/June, 10th - ending of life/.
- Ironicly, the last chapter of haikyuu came out in July, 20th in 2020. So, everyone was crything that day.
Don't you ever forget my *worthless* pride. -Oikawa
Seeing the whole school congratulating our Karasuno boys always makes me so emotional. They deserve that recognition so much!
Even the teacher who were responsible for scoring Kageyama's and Hinata's re-exam congratulates them. It's awesome!
S3 is so amazing. 10 episodes for just one match and you never feel bored for a moment.
I love how much Alana consistently enjoys these characters. From rejoicing with Karasuno to lamenting with Seijoh, there’s always a lot of empathy from her. There is just so much to dwell on with them, too.
Take for example the confrontation with ‘Wakatoshi’, the ace from Shiratorizawa, and Oikawa. He acknowledges Oikawa as an incredible player and even seems to entertain a rivalry with him. This is coming from a man (seriously, what’s with that deep ass voice) who is on the Japan youth team, who is considered one of the TOP THREE aces in the country. He is legit a pro in a teen’s body and he is also clearly not a guy to give into sentiment or hyperbole, so when he constantly implies Oikawa is genuinely tuff stuff, it means that he is. Now, with Karasuno beating Oikawa out and this being his third and final year, we realize someone as INSANELY TALENTED and hard working as Oikawa has never made it to the National stage, and never will in a high school setting. Never, ever.. That is simply insane to think about and incredibly saddening, because that’s pretty realistic. How many fantastic athletes were shackled with just average (no offense to Aoba Johsai) teams, and how few were able to be scouted or recognized in spite of their teams standing?
Anyway, I can’t wait for your season 3 reactions Alana (:
And it's even sadder when you think about the circumstances of Japanese volleyball before Haikyuu was a thing. Glad Haikyuu changed that and now Japanese volleyball has a new life :)
Can't wait for you to see season 3! Thanks for sharing your journey with us!
謝謝!If there is a chance, I would like to recommend you an anime called 86. Similar to the story about war girls meeting boys, and also boys getting redemption from girls. The artistic conception of the picture is far-reaching and beautiful, and the music is touching. I hope you and all fans like it.
+1 One of the best anime I have ever seen with amazing music and story. Please react to it if possible.
omg please ive been waiting for this. 86 is ONE OF MY FAVE so far
Omg yes, I didn't end up starting 86 until last June when I had covid and it's easily in my top 3 anime. It broke me down on an emotional level and the music alone is enough to make me cry just remembering it. Solid anime.
Today is Tobio Kageyama's birthday.
My name is Hinata from the concrete!!! That line is so hard
ive been watching for months without realising i havent even subbed🧍
When you realize after all the hard work of beating Seijoh they have to go up against Shiratorizawa the next damn day...
Hi Alana.
I`ve always watching your reaction video.
I always enjoy being with you.
I`m Japanese so I can`t perfect writing English. Forgive me.
If you`re love Oikawa, you should watch S2 re-edit movie last part.
You`ll more love him.
i watched it! i believe I included it in my s3 ep1 reaction :) so you’ll see it soon!
@@AlanaMisako Good to hear that!
S3 the best season in my opinion!! so excited :D i love your reactions Alana, cheers from Argentina
I think Oikawa actually made the better decision to play with seijou. He grew a lot, with shiratotizawa it's just ushijima being the central point. Maybe they'd even win nationals but it would come at the cost of oikawas skill
4:27 Actually, Ushiwaka really respects Oikawa's ability to bring out the best from his spikers. He wanted Oikawa to come to Shiratorizawa, but Oikawa wanted revenge against Ushiwaka for beating him 3 straight years in middle school. The point Ushiwaka was making is that had Oikawa joined Shiratorizawa, they would be a powerhouse at Nationals. The best finish Shiratorizawa managed at Nationals was a loss in the quarter-finals. With Oikawa, they could have gone further, maybe even making it to the finals.
I hope you saw seijoh's special ending, its a 6 min long vid and part of the movie... It's really good!
She said she added it to her Season 3 Episode 3 reaction
The "it's us, from the concrete" bit is equal parts epic and hilarious to me. Let me hypothesize that playing out in real life:
"YEAH, it's US, from the CONCRETE!"
"... huh?"
"From the concrete!... Y'know, like, the last time we met... outside of your guys' gym... and I was like, 'oh, well if the fertile soil-' err, no, how did that go...? Anyway, WE'RE FROM THE CONCRETE AND WE'RE GONNA KICK YOUR BUTT IN VOLLEYBALL!"
"😐 What is happening, right now?"
wait did you watch the ova before s3?
still hurt that oikawa lost 😔
steins gate next pls, ehhehe
