When Maradona was about to score his, Ivkovic went talk to him, and bet 100 dollars taht he would save his shoot. Maradona agree and he missed. Maradona, dispite his skills, was a terrible penalty shooter.
Martín Pilz he was probably not best pen shooter but he stated in his autobiography that he believed “ it wasn’t never necessary to shoot hard on penalties”
He may only missed a couple during his career.
Maradona had the best penalty scoring rate 31 out of 34 in 1990...before Baggio leveled this average with 62 out of 68 in 2000s.
@@SafwanNet Not all penalties are as important. Of the penalties he's taken in knock-out games, he's missed at least three, two in the UEFA cup (1986 vs Toulouse, 1989 vs Sporting) and one in the 1990 WC vs Yugoslavia and I gather he musnt have taken more than 5 in total of those must score penalties in his career. Thats a terrible ratio.
I don't think he was intimidated.
Intimidated him yet they don't speak the same language 🤔
heavy ball
Maradona couldn't look me in the eyes? that's what all players try to avoid to do when they're gonna shoot a penalty kick!!!!(He din't intimidated no one!) I stopped Maradona shot, but they were "lucky" they stopped 2 of them????? Come on, really?????????
Great player and I respect him. But that's the ugliest shirt I've ever seen.
