As a struggling father I needed this song. I work from the time I wake up to when I lay down. 4:30 I start my main job in construction. I’m off at 4 and go go work on side jobs. When I get home I make wooden crafts to sell. I have 3 kids and an amazing wife. I’m physically, mentally, and emotionally drained, but to see my family’s stomach full and a roof over there head is what keeps me going. Y’all plz pray for me.
Thats man shit bro. Proud of you one day soon your big break will come. Sounds like your ritch to me. Atleast your wife and kids are and that alone should keep your head high. 💪
Don’t work for riches. Work for wealth. Sounds to me like you’re living the dream brother. Us working class boys, farmers, country folk, and god fearing Americans are all behind you. Don’t let the trials of life let you forget that.
You know, I'm 15, I'll be 16 next month. And yesterday on the car ride home my dad played this song and told me this is why he spent over 30 years cutting grass and doing landscaping to take care of me, mom, and my brother. And honestly. I damn near cried, this is literally every reason why he did that all those years. Thank you.
I'm pleased you appreciate your fathers efforts to take care of you and the family. Imagine going to work in the dark and going home in the dark, never to see the sun.
You’re lucky to have a father like that and lucky to be smart enough to realize it this early. Get out there in the world and find something you can dedicate yourself to. You will fail, but at your age you have plenty of time for that. You are destined to succeed at the end of the day. Enjoy the journey and just keep going. Get some. Best of luck.
A wife and 7 kids. I work 7 days a week for months on end. Today is 63 days straight. All over the country. But in the end, my family is well taking care of. Lack of sleep and broken body, it's worth it. Thank God for men like you putting music like this out there. Believe it or not, this song helps keep us motivated and pushing! God Bless you and ALL YOU WORKING men and women!!! Stay strong, keep your nose on the grindstone and keep on keepin' on!
50 yr old pipefitter/welder , i built a life for my family with a GED and 33 yrs of beating my body to death , living on 4/5 hrs of sleep ...... i wouldnt trade it for the world . I sleep well with dirty hands and clean money. I come back to this song when i feel like giving up , but " it ain't always ez, and it ain't ever like you planned " ...keep pushing men this world may not appreciate us all the time but it damn sure needs us
25 years old.. crying my eyes out at 2am thinking of my daddy and how hard of a working man he is. This put him in a perspective for me I’ll never forget.. thank you.
Thanks so true my dad was taking me to work one day because my car broke down and I told him bye see you in the afternoon and then I got a call by lunch time he was gone so don't ever forget to say I love you too but loved ones everything might seem okay but sometimes it's not
@@maxrisher2712 sorry to hear that, sometimes I think it might be better that you know it's coming, the days, months, or years leading up to it are hell, but you can make sure nothing goes unsaid and hopefully get closure.
I’m old-school country 83 years old… This is one of the recent country songs that I can understand every word… What a pleasure to listen and understand the words and not have the drums and all the acoustics that are now involved in country music… Let’s get more of this kind of country songs on the market
I'm 21 with a 2 year old I never had a father figure but I'm sure he'll I would be to my baby boy he's deaf but so smart can't even believe it 2 years old doing what's 5 years old do sooner or later your going to hear my son first God amen 🙏
God bless all you lovely folks and a huge thank for all you do, I'm 23, never had a father figure in my life, tough road figure everything out on your own, but lucky to have some truly wonderful friends and people around me. Keep it up lads and may all your sorrows and hard work turn into happiness. God bless ❤
I'm not an emotional man. That being said, I cried when this song played. It made me think of my father and all hes had to do for our family. Factory work, swing shifts, blisters, busted knees and back. U dont think about it when ur kids but god he sacrificed himself for our survival. U always hear about the hardships of being a mother but never the sacrifices of being a father. Now in my thirties, I too have a child of my own and a family. I work long hours in construction in the florida heat just to keep out heads above water. Sometimes I do side jobs so I can take my family somewhere nice every now and then. I hope I'm doin ok just trying to follow in my fathers shoes. Us blue collar workers are forgotton amongst all that is happening in country. Just know we r still here. We r keeping the country moving forward. God bless all the fathers and god bless the good ole usa.
Same here. My dads a trucker, used to see him once a month, sometimes less. Now I’m in a factory pulling 60 hours week shifts. It’s a hard honest life that I thank god for.
The true American dream! We were built to protect and serve our families. When we do it right, nobody sees it. Keep up the good fight, brother. Construction worker for life
I did 4 years in the Corps, then I was a truck driver for a few more til I broke my back, now I work a job with a lot of 16 hour shifts Rich boys go to college while us poor boys go to work. But I'm thankful for all y'all keeping America going.
Thank you for this as well. I don’t have a family yet. I’m getting my life back on track after losing 2 years of my life to drugs another 3 to prison. Been clean for 4 and a half years been out for 2 and a half. Currently 25 living with mom and while that’s rough on my pride I take pride in working 6 days a week and the fact that I’m on my way to rebuilding my life with a regular job. Thank you man the song is beautiful it hits home. And man it really isn’t like how you plan!! Lol
Praise the Lord for your sobriety brother and the American dream for freedom to dust yourself off and try again. Our personal redemption, and our liberty as a free country both come through Christ, and those are what sets up apart as a nation. God bless you for what you're doing and all our working men and women.
JEN JEN Only one ive heard get played is Cody Johnson on the radio but he’s nothing new. Haven’t heard Josh Thompson on the radio in quite some time. Justin Moore is back to making his good old traditional style country. Some of the smaller local country stations will play the good stuff. Mainstream and not mainstream. Where I live we have a country station that plays all the pop country and a station that plays real country.
J Mit He didn’t cry about it, but right now he’s one of the better ones that gets played. But he’s nothing new, and people down in Texas know that. To me he’s the next King of Texas. At least Cody lives his what he sings about. Look at George Strait, they kicked him out. And I remember when he was last at the CMA’s look on ole straits face was “ The hell is this shit “
J Mit Cody Johnson lives what he sings. Some of his songs are cowboy songs, and he’s a cowboy. I have my opinion and music likes, you have yours. George Strait is still the King of Country, oh and he co-wrote a lot of his songs. Don’t have to write all your own songs to be true country.
J Mit I said you have your opinion and your music likes. I have mine. I listen to a lot of good ones and that I think are great. From hank Sr, Alan Jackson to Colter Wall.
Been hustling all my days, bricklayer, work as much as I can when the weather is good, one my days off, work on the house, just straight working....but this song brings peace.
Started my own welding company a year ago. 3 kids and a wife at home. Yesterday I was 150miles into the drive for a large job at 6am. Songs like this remind us men why we grind.
Not going to lie man. I'm 30 years old and this song brought tears to my eyes. Being born and raised in California, the typical stereotype is Californians are lazy. But I bust my ass 6 days a week 16hr shifts doing construction. Sometimes I feel like I'm not going anywhere, but your song made me realize I'm not alone. I plan on leaving California very very soon.
I'm 38 and from California as well, been working hard since I was 16 , I now live in Palm Desert CA . Definitely worth all the hard work and long hr days 💪 .
Blame the media for only showing the worst in every state for their ratings greed. Every state has its long hours hard working tough people out there....some of us gotta support the ones who don't wanna work.
@travis I gave books a shot. Im no reader and so I just looked up several books about sacrificing the little hours I have off to make a change and so far its helped a lot. Youd still work those 6 days but more peace in mind once you fill yourself with what the books say.
Retired now and reaping the benefits of a lifetime of working from dark to dark thirty and yes, my hands are still dirty, but it’s on my time now. Thank you Lord for the gifts you have given me. This song puts all of that hard work in perspective for a lot of people.
Hope you're enjoying your retirement, I'll be there in a few short months. After years of 70, 80, 90 hour work weeks, it can't come soon enough. I'm 59 and still regularly hitting 60 hours a week.
I work 84 hours a week in steel plant here in gent ky I love being hard working American patriot gotta work to the wolves away we’re all in this together y’all keep ya heads up
This isn't just a song it is an anthem for those of us who go out every day to earn a hard living and just getting by. Knowing what is waiting at home makes it worth it all. All working men should hear this song so they can see that they are appreciated and are living a good life the right way.
I’m 34 and this song brought tears to my eyes. I’m an industrial mechanic at a chemical plant and a single income home. Some days it truly takes its tole on me but the smiles at home make me keep going. I’m proud to provide for my family and will work hard for them! Amazing song really hit home with me need more artists like you that represent blue collar family’s like mine!! 🇺🇸
Thanks so much Larry Fleet. I don’t cry easily. This song brought me to tears. I’ve been working since I was 14 and now I’m 32 and I have two children. I hope they remember me as fondly as I remember my father. I hope they understand why daddy’s always at work and never home. I hope they know why daddy’s so tired. I hope they know that I’d trade anything for more time with them. This song reminds me of my pa. Maybe one day they’ll hear it and it’ll remind them of theirs. Thanks again. From a reggae/punk rock music guy. This country song reached out and grabbed me.

This song brought tears to my eyes. My parents met in the groves of Florida. My dad on his own in a foreign country at just 14 years old and my mother dragged along with her family for a better life. They gave my siblings and I the greatest opportunity of our lives. I'm now 31 and I am striving in my field of work while busting my back to provide an even better life for my 3 year old and my wife. Im always tired, but somehow always ready to go on to the next job. Proud American-Mexican blue collar worker here!!
That American dream is what we all strive for. Glad your mother and father raised you right, keep that attitude and you will go far in life. Americans and brothers to the bone🇺🇸💪🏻
@@flamingmoe1805My son will be 6 next month. Life is good. My family is healthy and I'm now self employed. Business is good. I really can't complain. Nothing but grateful 🙏

Damn brother! I’m an ironworker of 24 years, out of town and broke down I can feel it in my bones. No one else can feel it, Im alone out on the road but when I call home to say hello, I love you and good night I wonder do they hear it in my voice and in my heart. I don’t wish this on any man, but if they only knew The things just for them that I would put my soul through. Bring it on
I’m 72 years old i work Timber all my life I’m still doing that, I’m up at 3:30 or 4 o’clock every day that’s just a natural thing for me I know what it means to come home tired and hurting had a lot of broken bones and things through my life but I still love what I do my kids are all grown now my girls and a boyI think God for them and that I’m able to go

Thank you for sharing this. I ll be 62 and a Furniture worker been a woodworker since 1986 and now our company is closing down and moving to couple other states and Mexico but I am going to keep on working in furniture and I also get up at 3:45am every morning. Thank you again for sharing your thoughts. 🙏
I never thought I would like country music. Larry you have made a believer out of me. Thank you 🙏🏼 brother, love your music. God Bless America 🇺🇸 and our hard working folks!
Crying thinking how hard my Dad worked to keep us fed and clothed and we didn't realise it until years later. He was tired and worn out, but enjoyed his work and tried his best so we didn't feel the difficulties of making ends meet. Mum counted every half penny, and measured the paper to wrap the butties and 3 biscuits fpr tuck and we knew we were cared for. Daddy wasn't always there, and often couldn't play, but he never went away. Working men are the backbone of a good society and need to be applauded for all their efforts. This song goes towards it. GOD BLESS YOU LARRY.
This song touched my heart, and broke me down....I work 60 hours I week and I lost my dad 3 years ago, 3 days before Christmas. I know your looking down on me pops, until we meet again
Shout out to the men and women who work more than 40. Shout out to the families that stand behind these men and women. I’m tired from work, but it ain’t like the tired you get from being hungry or broke. I know millions of people pray every night for a job that gets them overtime, well I pray that they get it. This is the greatest country in the world, and I hope to see everyone in it thrive.
I’m a shift worker… 911 dispatcher for 12 years so far… 12 hour shifts. I may not have dirty or callused hands, but I do have a broken mind and heart. This song tells me that the things I hear and deal with are all worth it…. A lifetime scar on Dad, is well worth my kids(3) growing up knowing I tried to be a good father, express my love and provide them with the tools to succeed. Thank you for this song, and thank you to everyone on here sharing their personal stories.
My clock goes off and 4am every morning. I climb in a log truck still hurting from the day before and make my living. After 8 years of disability due to 2 battles with cancer, I went back to work in 2018. I’m proud to be a working man again.
This is so beautiful. A man at 37 lost a lot of time due to drug addiction. Got my life back on track. I do motivate speaking. I am a role model for my daughter and my new daughter otw. A working man a strong man a loving man!!! These principles are what i believe in to handle all my situations in life!!! Blessed all that are struggling. Just know you are wanted and loved❤
Heard this song on AMerican Idol the other night... fantastic! Takes me back to younger days working as a construction laborer.. hard work... nothing but respect for all the working men!
That's where I heard it. My husband has an hour and a half commute and leaves at 4:30 am. We both get up together, though I don't have to leave until 7:50 (since we live right across from my job). I'm glad I listened to Fleet's rendition. Beautiful song!
Heard it on that show also. Noah Thompson is the one who sang it., never heard it before., not into country at all so , most of the songs he did was the first for me.. I just wanted to hear the original now.. But, I still listen to Noah’s version daily.. all his performances, daily.. so happy he won..
Wow, I love this song! My husband is a coal miner that works shifts and this song represents him and every other hard working man out there! Thank you for honoring them and yourself!

[Verse 1] Four AM, Lord, don't it come way too soon You'd think by now, it'd be something you'd be used to So put on your coffee, turn on the news It's gonna be hot as hell, but at least the skies are blue Clocking in more hours, but you do what ya gotta do [Chorus] I know you're tired, I know you're hurting I know you're broke down to the bone But your bills are paid And there's smiling faces waiting on you at home It ain't always easy, it ain't ever like you planned Oh but man, ain't it working, working man [Verse 2] Now you're going home while the suns going down You're still miles away, but you can already hear the sound Of a little voice, saying "Daddy come out and play" So you steal a couple more minutes from a damn good day You're clocking in, wore out, wouldn't want it any other way [Chorus] I know you're tired, I know you're hurting I know you're broke down to the bone But your bills are paid And there's smiling faces waiting on you at home It ain't always easy, It ain't ever like you planned Oh but man, ain't it working, working man [Bridge] It's the sweat and blood and bruises Calloused hands, hard as can be There's bread on the table There's presents under the tree [Chorus] I know you're tired, I know you're hurting I know you're broke down to the bone But your bills are paid And there's smiling faces waiting on you at home It ain't always easy, It ain't ever like you planned Oh but man, ain't it working, working man It ain't always easy, It ain't ever like you planned Oh but man, ain't it working, working man
LineMan here, the heat is a killer, the bees snakes and bugs are horrible, I wake up every morning wishing I didn’t have to work so hard, I leave before anyone is awake and I come home when everyone is ready for bed but when my wife and my little boy come to me with smiles and affection it makes waking up and walking through hell worth it this song is amazing and I always put it on repeat for those exceptionally tough weeks
Wow. Powerful and beautiful. I've been a telecoms worker for over 30 years. I e traveled the country...I leave before the sun rises and get home as its setting...6 days a week 70 - 80 hrs every week. There are days that it gets to me...times the stress, frustration, pain and fatigue wear on me and I just sit in my truck as a few tears roll down my cheeks. I take a deep breath, get out, splash some water from my cooler on my face and get back to it. Because there are Bill's to pay and family to take care of. Thank you for this song. It truly spoke to me.
Feel you brother. Grew up an electricians son, had two brother in laws that were carpenters. 30 years later, still at it. If I have it my way my hands will be dirty and beat up they day they put me in the ground! I know it’s hard, it’s either hot as hell or cold as hell right? Learn all you can from your old man and cherish every second you have with him !! Great tune!
@@jamesstilley8004 I'll never regret the days and hours I've spent with my dad. Not everyone is blessed to have the time and opportunities I have to spend with my family. I can never go back from being self employed.
Was flipping the radio today on a delivery run to 2 of our stores, caught this song and immediately stopped. Such a beautiful song and hit home today since today hasn't been that great day.
I’ve worked 12 hrs a day, three days a week for almost 28 years 38 years for the same company. I’m a forklift mechanic and on my days off I run my own Lawncare business. All work I’ve ever needed done I do myself never hiring it out for another man to do my responsibilities. Raised my children never with any kind of government assistance I was raised on as a child. When I hear a song like this it makes and old man think maybe I’m a success after all.
Laborer in a steel mill and travel to power plants. It’s not always easy. I just turned 24 yes I’m young and don’t have as much time in as people in the rest of the comments but this song brings tears to my eyes every time I listen to it. My girlfriend and step son hate when I’m gone. I just hope they know I do it all for them. 7 days a week on nights right now and this song hits home hard. Not being able to spend time with them is what hurts the most. Sometimes we need music like this to keep us pushing. This is what mainstream country should sound like. What a damn good song Larry thank you!
I guess I can’t speak for anyone but myself, but I have a very strong feeling that they know you do it all for them. This is coming from a “seasoned” ironworker wife. We were about your age when my husband started his apprenticeship, so I’ve lived it. Just don’t forget to sprinkle in some random special moments now and then. It doesn’t have to be anything spectacular...randomly bring your girlfriend flowers or something else you know she likes, or if you get a day off, take her to a nice hotel, just the two of you. As for you little one...take him on a one-on-one drive, or take him out to supper, just the two of you...just let him talk about anything his little heart desires. I guarantee he will remember it forever. We’ve raised 2 boys in this life, they’re 17 and 14 now, but those “little” moments meant the world to them, especially our youngest. He still talks about him and dad going out for wings, and that was 5 years ago. Hang in there, keep the lines of communication open, you got this 🙂
This song is the most inspiring song. I have small children that i miss so much working on the road. It makes me think of home and my wife and kids. Thank you for this song
Man as a trucker and these long hours and longer roads this song says it all and hits me right where it needs to and reminds me of what I do for my family. Thank you keep it up
God showing up in my life I'm moved to tears listening to this ❤ doing what you gotta do for so long has away of bringing out the survival in me without being able to enjoy life all that much. This song reminds me we're all doing the best we know how to do!!
This song hits me right in my heart. My husband is military and we can relate to this so much. We've both worked 14+ hours a day before..sun up to sun down. Now he's gone for months at a time. It's hard but we have to keep going strong. Little ones have to be cared for and bills have to be paid. Keep your chins up and proud to be working men. Your family appreciates you. ❤

Hello 👋 Vivian. How are you doing? Hope you are fine. I'm Scott Clifford am from Denver Colorado. Where are you from? You seem like a real country girl
Love this song. It's one of the few songs I will belt at the jobsite or in my garage at the house. I know my neighbors have got to hear me singing this. The other morning at work, I was the first one on the jobsite and was singing this rather loud, didn't hear the other contractors arrive, needless to say once I was done I got a round of applause. Being a rather quiet person at work, they were amazed I had the vocals that I do. This song has got to be one of my favorites, mainly because it's a tradesmans anthem.
As a roofer , I couldn’t get thru my day without jams like this , helps remind me why I’m out there wearing myself thin , it’s all for my babies !! , so thank you for the soundtrack to my life 🤘
I was only 17 when I moved out to find a better life for my self and get off drugs. I was the only one in my family to have a high school diploma for many generations. I found work as a underground utilities worker for a couple of years. I met my wife when I was 18 she moved in with me and I became a husband later on. I'm 23 now and am trying to be a mechanic at my job. I have a boy who is now a year old. I work my ass off every day and try to do the best I can to be a provider for them and set aside my own wants to make sure they have what they need. Every time I hear this song early in the morning it makes things better and for a short time I don't feel stressed about life and I find peace on my ride to work and home. I hope others find peace in this song
Thank you for this, here i am 22 years old workin hard sun up to sun down for my father’s company 80-90hours a week in construction electricity. @@bradneedham603 that hits home. Been working on the road going to diff power plants for 13 yrs. It's been a blink of an eye and my kids are almost grown. I tried to give them the best life I could but there has to be a balance.. cant get that time back.
They need you too. Notes, hugs and kisses when you get home, those uplifting life insights to show them the way and share your values. Never underestimate your part in their upbringing.
Way too many concrete cowboys in Nashville! We need more artists like Larry, Cody Jinks, Chris Knight, Tyler Childers, The so called real deal artists!
It's literally a crime that I've never heard of this man. Some of the most beautiful REAL country I've heard in 25 years. The radio needs to recognize what an artist he is. 😊
Diesel mechanic supporting a family. Sometimes 12 hour days. Love what I do and at the end of the day I come home and I’m reminded why I do it. Beautiful song. Can’t wait to listen to it on my way to work.
Lost my dad this year and I will tell you this sings to our hearts. I sat and cried for his sacrifice and thinking about the struggles that he endured. I hope that i can carry that burden in his name.
Expecting father here! Met my wife back in January. Pregnant by March. Married by June. “It ain’t always like you planned” that rings so true to me everyday. I try my best working over 40 a week and saving every dime so my child never has to suffer from my poor choices. This song brings me hope that I will be everything in a father I ever wanted.
No stranger to the shift life here. Averaged 80 hours a week for 5 years starting my new job and was milking cows for 10 years prior. Cows don't know holidays or excuses. 4am comes early boys. Keep your chin up and chest out

The first time I heard this song I was at work but heading home. I have 4 kids, 3 are grown. My little man is 8 and this tore me down. I listen to it frequently. It's one of the best damn songs there is...
I've been so exhausted it seems like for years and feel like everything is falling apart. I've been at the end of my rope too many times to count. Hearing this song reminded me that I am not alone, that I am blessed and I am surrounded by love. Thank you for writing the words I desperately needed to hear right now.
37 here and I’ve been trucking for over 10 years and got two boys at home that I missed out on a lot of their childhood but I hope they understand and appreciate the sacrifice I’ve had to make

Traveling wind technician here. This song brought a tear to my eye nearly instantly. I could tell just as other people here the authenticity of this song. The bittersweet that comes from sacrifice in our jobs for the betterment of our families. Beautiful song and I’m very lucky to have stumbled upon it.
This made my day made me cry made me appreciate what I've got. 12 hour days, some are easy and some suck every minute but thank God I'm union and the bills are paid and my family doesn't want for anything. Why can't music like this be on the damn radio...
There is. This guy sounds just like Chris Stapleton, probably why he hasn’t made radio. There’s already a Chris Stapleton.

They’ll appreciate that more than you’ll know one day, trust me
Don’t work for riches. Work for wealth. Sounds to me like you’re living the dream brother. Us working class boys, farmers, country folk, and god fearing Americans are all behind you. Don’t let the trials of life let you forget that.
God bless brother
Keep God and family first, everything else will fall in line bless you my brother
Thank you.
This brought me to tears....so glad u shared. As parents not sure if our kids know our worth? Makes my heart warm that you do.
I'm pleased you appreciate your fathers efforts to take care of you and the family. Imagine going to work in the dark and going home in the dark, never to see the sun.
Your dad sounds like a good man. 🤟✌️
@@brickpowell2771 Excellent advice.
You stay strong too Justin!
Yes Sir!
you are a great man, and your family is so lucky and very proud of you
Amen brother!!

This put him in a perspective for me I’ll never forget.. thank you.
Tell him what he's worth while you have a chance. Because sometimes the chance that you have now is the only one you get.

God bless all you lovely folks and a huge thank for all you do, I'm 23, never had a father figure in my life, tough road figure everything out on your own, but lucky to have some truly wonderful friends and people around me.
Keep it up lads and may all your sorrows and hard work turn into happiness.
God bless ❤
You did something right.
Your doing more then enough brotha!🤝🏼
The true American dream! We were built to protect and serve our families. When we do it right, nobody sees it. Keep up the good fight, brother. Construction worker for life
Crying is Ok ❤
Lol
Best wishes to you. Thanks for sharing.
Keep your head up son you can do it 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
Keep it up bro. A real hard man stays clean and gets up early and goes to work. Clean money.
Praise the Lord for your sobriety brother and the American dream for freedom to dust yourself off and try again. Our personal redemption, and our liberty as a free country both come through Christ, and those are what sets up apart as a nation. God bless you for what you're doing and all our working men and women.

Can we get 100 more of this kind of country singers, send them to Nashville and run out the fake country rats?
Day12My There is lots. To many to list but that are just like this guy. And are inspired by waylon and the legends that are gone.
As a single father working 12/14 hours a day .... this my life my kids and there lives and smiles are my world !!!!

Great job for working for your family aman
As long as youre working toward something. It doesn't have to be forever. Cheers from Oregon!!!

This song brought tears to my eyes. My parents met in the groves of Florida. My dad on his own in a foreign country at just 14 years old and my mother dragged along with her family for a better life. From a 60 year old working stiff. This is so good it hurts.
This is the greatest country in the world, and I hope to see everyone in it thrive.

[Verse 1]
Four AM, Lord, don't it come way too soon
You'd think by now, it'd be something you'd be used to
So put on your coffee, turn on the news
It's gonna be hot as hell, but at least the skies are blue
Clocking in more hours, but you do what ya gotta do
[Chorus]
I know you're tired, I know you're hurting
I know you're broke down to the bone
But your bills are paid
And there's smiling faces waiting on you at home
It ain't always easy, it ain't ever like you planned
Oh but man, ain't it working, working man
[Verse 2]
Now you're going home while the suns going down
You're still miles away, but you can already hear the sound
Of a little voice, saying "Daddy come out and play"
So you steal a couple more minutes from a damn good day
You're clocking in, wore out, wouldn't want it any other way
[Chorus]
I know you're tired, I know you're hurting
I know you're broke down to the bone
But your bills are paid
And there's smiling faces waiting on you at home
It ain't always easy, It ain't ever like you planned
Oh but man, ain't it working, working man
[Bridge]
It's the sweat and blood and bruises
Calloused hands, hard as can be
There's bread on the table
There's presents under the tree
[Chorus]
I know you're tired, I know you're hurting
I know you're broke down to the bone
But your bills are paid
And there's smiling faces waiting on you at home
It ain't always easy, It ain't ever like you planned
Oh but man, ain't it working, working man
It ain't always easy, It ain't ever like you planned
Oh but man, ain't it working, working man

Big promotion today. Got it all by myself. 60+ hour weeks. Doing what no one else would do. This is my anthem. A beer and a tear to celebrate
This hits home with me. Working as a self employed carpenter alongside my Dad for 8 years. It really isn't always easy...
So honest, real. Beautiful.
Hands down one of the best damn songs I've ever heard in my life...
This is country music. It's a really good song singing the truth, real life events. Need more songs like this on the radio.
Well said. Good song. A father sacrificing for his family as serving the Lord. We need more of this in our society.

42 years in the trades, I am tired and hurting, but God and going home always get me through the day. I love the song, hits the heart strings for sure
Here after Noah's performance at American Idol. Happy he introduced me to Larry Fleet!

Diabetes going up down clearly ain’t making things any better.
Sometimes it feels like i’m going nowhere but i hope at least he’s proud of me .
I love you dad
I've been working at Ford motor company for over 10 years. Hurting every day! Multiple surgeries! . Went to see him in Louisville ky! This right here! You hit it Larry Fleet!
Simple music can make you sing, a simple hug can make you feel, better, simple things can make you happy, I hope my simple hello will put a smile on your face..

Great song Mr. Larry Fleet wouldn’t expect nothing but great country music from you
Brother... you spoke to my soul with this one. I can't thank you enough for breathing life into country music roots. I hope it takes you everywhere you want to go. I needed to hear this.

Thank you for this one.. we living in a world that breaks men down we need MEN
For some of us, 4 a.m. comes late in the shift. 10 hours into it for me. Sleep while my kids are living, but at least they have the things I didn't.
I've been on nights the last 3 years and finally accrued enough seniority for day shift. Been there, it takes a toll on you...... Keep on trucking
Ever think they'd rather have dad than those things? Took a while for me too see that. Hope u catch it sooner than later.. sure wish i did..
@@bradneedham603True, man
Way too many concrete cowboys in Nashville! We need more artists like Larry, Cody Jinks, Chris Knight, Tyler Childers, The so called real deal artists!
Dame right
It's literally a crime that I've never heard of this man.
“It ain’t always easy
It ain’t ever liked you planned
Awe but man, ain’t it workin’
Workin’ man.” Love it! SP
Keep your chin up and chest out
Steel mill worker here running heavy equipment for a living making it by the sweat of my brow every single day whether i feel good or like crap I still tie my steel toes up every morning at 5 am and hit the road working six days a week putting in ot every single week , god bless the good music out there still and God bless the working man getting it done no matter what I salute you fellas .
73 now. Doing a remote lesson once a week for college. Spent most of my life in factories or sites from all over the UK to as far as the Red Sea. Everyone doing their best to make a living and look after their families. Bless.
Coal miners around the world appreciate this song, thank you, and keep it coming...
37 here and I’ve been trucking for over 10 years and got two boys at home that I missed out on a lot of their childhood but I hope they understand and appreciate the sacrifice I’ve had to make
Oh those boots at the beginning.
That dust attic
Then that voice

Traveling wind technician here. This song brought a tear to my eye nearly instantly. I could tell just as other people here the authenticity of this song. The bittersweet that comes from sacrifice in our jobs for the betterment of our families. Beautiful song and I’m very lucky to have stumbled upon it.
Something like this can only be written by someone who's lived it. Thanks, Larry glad to see you're living your dream..
Work and concrete can wear a man down, but more than that life is hard as hell, Songs like this get me by. Thank you 👍🏻🔥🔥
Thank you for putting my life to song... Man can I relate!
Good sensible message, worthwhile for a working man…
This is my husband's theme song... A great man, an even better daddy to our kids, and a husband that only God would send as a blessing. 😍
I love this song! My husband gets up at 4am to go to work and he comes home to 3 little boys who look up to him . Thank you for sharing your talent

12 hour days, some are easy and some suck every minute but thank God I'm union and the bills are paid and my family doesn't want for anything. Wasn't always that way when I was single I was addicted to heroin and was a mess for 7 years. I met my wife and we had a son, now 8 years later, life is good. Love this song.
Congratulations on getting clean! I have never been able to do it for more than 2 or 3 months.
