well the Soccer World Cup starts in less than 6 weeks and in Mexico City people go crazy! and then there's the current presidential elections on July 1st BUT you can find stuff of all kinds going on in Mexico City any day anywhere... from concerts to exhibitions etc, depends what you like.

I love you guys for thinking outside the box! :D I was just in south america for many months (24) and only came back to work a little, see family and sell my crap in order to take off again...life is about exploring and experiencing it, not about reading about it on books or TV. Besides, if one lives in the U.S. or any country where the currency is strong, then one has an added advantage to travel abroad, so why not do it? (provided that is what one likes). As Mike Corey said: Experiences over possessions!
hey! how are you guys? oh man! what did I enjoy about southamerica? thank you asking!! so many places that i had always dreamed of visiting someday: macchu pichu, Galapagos islands, Easter island, the Guyanas, Buenos Aires, Iguazu falls, the Amazon river basin, etc.....but as a country, I enjoyed most Colombia and Argentina, definitely. It had to do with the people, food, culture, variety of ecosystems, It was the trip of a lifetime and I'd do it again in an instant. :D Though I will say, everybody, every where, loved mexican food!! Colombian food (along with peruvian) is the closest to mexican food, in my opinion but I alway tried to patronize any "Mexican Food" establishment down in south america.... Now, I'm prepping my next and last long trip: AFRICA! Africa by motorcycle, definitely. By 2019 at the latest. Keep us posted with your trip and videos guys!! You certainly make me dream of traveling again and take me back to those days of freedom, exploration, adventure, discovery, living life to the fullest!!! I might go to Mexico city this summer of 2018 and we can meet for coffee or beer....or both! take care!! P.s. If you come by El Paso sometime, give me a holler!! Keko

I learned to speak spanish as a first language and then learned english once i was put in grade school. I'm happy you like Mexico enough to feel welcomed to stay long term, but I'm even happier you're chasing your dreams and enjoying life so much. You're truly an inspiration and a lovely couple. I cant't denied that Mexico have too much issues to cover and many challenges to face off, but as well I think it's more the good things than the bad things that my country offer to the world. And you guys are an impotant cotribution to this change of point of view over Mexico; with your magnificent videos and documentation of first hand that you make. For all... THANKYOU! So, starting off from scratch in a new country can be pretty rough but as I'm sure you guys already noticed Mexico and Mexicans are here for you. Hey guys I'm so glad you enjoyed Mexico. I was born and raised in Houston but my parents met here after having made a long journey to America. I learned to speak spanish as a first language and then learned english once i was put in grade school. Thank you for the love and support you have for our culture it means a lot to me even if I am "Americanized".
