Yea, I use Shadowdark as a simple ruleset to run a heroic long term game, currently Tomb of Annihilation right out of the 5e book. Only core rule adjustment has been max HP on first level.
I've also had a lot of fun letting players roll their own incoming damage. "The goblin hits you for 1d4" works really well with luck tokens; as I only let them reroll their own dice, not mine.
I’d like to steal everything from OSE’s Dolmenwood. The OSE rules never clicked for me, but that setting is just awesome!
I backed Dolmenwood also, mainly for the setting. I plan to combine it with Shadowdark to create a Fairy-like realm being overcome by malevolent magic shadow!
